  • Delicious snack made in minutes. Nom Krok is a rice/ coconut pancake. It is a popular street food snack in Cambodia. It's fun and easy to make using a cast iron nom krok pan. This recipe uses steam puree rice along with rice flour, coconut cream, scallions, sugar, salt, shredded fresh coconut.

    Looks so yummy 🤤! One of my favorite rice cakes. Do I have to use blended steamed rice to make it?

    @sudada Sihaumpai
    Just a suggestion.
    In cambodian "Nom" or "num" means cake or something sweet.
    In thai "nom" means "mammals".
    In thai "ka nom" means "cake".
    So "nom krourk" is a khmer words
    I would say " Ka nom Krourk" in thai.
    It is a good video. Thank for sharing.

    Can we substitue steam rice with just glutenous rice flour? Please help! I am making this dish for my kids's school International Food Fair this coming Friday! Arkun jrun, for posting this recipe, Rumdoul

      Hi! I usually use steamed rice (puree) or left over white rice porridge along with rice flour. Rice flour is used to adjust the consistency of the batter. Using too much of the glutenous rice flour tends to make this Nom too sticky, too soft and not form well. I would reccomend using a little bit mixed with other flour if possible.

      Sunada Sihaumpai Nom Krok is Cambodian crusine. Nom means sweet, cake, or snack. Krok means cast iron griddle. I know, Thai people can't accept the truth.
