This Asian Pancake Nom Kruok is original of Cambodia. You Can Meet It On The Steet Food Market At Night. Birma, Thailand , Laos and Cambodia are alomost the sam root cooking and culture
I tried to make this and I promise you that 2 cups of flour for each makes *a lot* of batter. It took a lot more coconut milk as a result and everything else. Just trying to make sure it doesn't stick, but I sadly only have an electric stove to work with.
You always crack me up. I hope you got ur house dug out of the snow : ) That was a beautiful prayer you added at the end.....yes......PLEASE LORD HELP EASE THOSE PEOPLE'S SUFFERING.
Thailand and Cambodia are neighbor countries, so we are influenced by each other a lot. For Thai Khanom Krok is slightly different, we would add a little sweet coconut cream topping at the end.
You're really funny, and I just love your videos. I've tried three of these recipes now and they're all so good. Everyone you have GOT to try the egg rolls. But I just want to stop for a second and thank you so much for praying for Japan, I have family out there and it's 2012 and we still haven't heard from some of them. So it means a lot.
wife bought it 2 days ago. the name is Ebelskiver filled Pancake Pan from Nordic Ware, made in USA. didn't know the cost. she's not home. didn't come with cover.
I also thought this was a Khmer dish... Its also called nom krouk in Khmer too. Thai, Lao, Khmer, Viet.... we all share very similar foods w/ similar variations.
OMG my cousin and I went to Ranch 99 (asian store) and they were selling one each for 64 cents only so we order 20 and OMGGGGGGGG it was so DELICIOUS! the lady added yummy custard and stacked them like it was a sandwich too!
Those look great Kai , I might make a breakfast sandwich out of those , with an egg , some Canadian bacon and mascapone cheese , talk about international house of pancakes ......!!!
Wow...I sure gonna try thus recipe. Is it only chopped spring onions that you put in the batter? Is it possible to play with flavours by adding dried shrimps or any kind of savory stuffs? Does thus go with a special sauce? Looks so delicious and not that difficult to make. Greetzzz from Europe.
Hi Kai, thank you for the recipe. Can you please tell me what the different ways of serving these are? Would you add chopped up meat when it's cooking in the pan? Can you also do it with other things to make it sweet? Thanks
Do u have to use the glutinous rice flower or can I just use the regular rice flower? I have a friend I'd like to make these for but she cannot eat glutens at all.
Hi, Is there a nam jim for this? At my local Asian market (Cambodian store) they sell this with a white watery dip for the Knom krok... If there is could you show us how to make it? Thanks so much and Merry Christmas to you!
