I don't consider myself a natural cook but after watching your video, I was able to cook this recipe for my family on my first try! Keep up the great work.
This recipe is delicious. I appreciate that Kai admits openly that some of the ingredients in his recipes are not "real Thai" or "real Chinese." Keep it coming, Kai!
It's Sweetened condensed milk for all that are asking. It comes in a can much like evaporated milk usually by the dry milk or baking section of your local supermarket :). Great Recipe. My favorite by Farr thank you!!!
Thanks so much for the recipe itkman. Itkman can you please reply as to what brand wok and wok items you are using, where did you buy them, and best way to care for them please?. I am just learning about using cooking implements from other cultures, and Itknam I would greatly appreciate your input, and thank you in advance for your great recipes and advisements.
tip for viewers that dont have much experience cooking shrimp. shrimp cooks really fast so try to not over cook them. 3-5 mins in the oil should be long enough, and remember the shrimp will continue to cook even after you take it out of the oil
@AwakeAliveAlert Batter (for 1 pound of shrimp): 1 c all purpose flour 1 tbsp baking powder 1 egg 3/4 to 1 c water/milk Sauce: 1 tbsp condensed milk 1/4 c mayonnaise 1 tbsp honey Little bit of lime/lemon juice
Just made this, it came out alright. It wasn't all that sweet as the other users said, but i think the shrimp should have a light seasoning before frying as I thought it was it bit bland once you got past the slight sweet taste. The walnuts were very good with it though, can't wait to see your next video.
Great videos kai! I want to request a dessert recipe i can't find anywhere,, its called sai mai lo. if you have time, i would appreciate the work, thanks!
ive had gator its really good in curry, goat i recommend you try to cook slow and low till tender because if done wrong goat can end up chewy. duck also is pretty common, just be very careful because while chicken is white meat, duck is complete dark meat and is very fatty
I made this tonight. The first one or two bites were excellent. Then it was obvious that this was way too sweet. Tone that back somehow this would have been a home run.
just tried this and it was really good, my only complaint is the shrimp didn't stay crispy once removed from the fryer, is there a trick to keeping them crispy?
@ltkman You know i've always wanted to play the gutair and be a chef at the same time..but i never thought it be possible, but seeing you makes me want to try for that. and btw are you sure your not a comedian also? cause your jokes are funny
Does any particular brand of mayonnaise create a tastier sauce? I used Hellmann's and though it was good, the honey and condensed milk seemed to stand out more.
There's this Chinese soup made out of shrip n crab with very thick clear paste liquid. I was wondering if you know how to make it n would make a video on it. In the restaurant it's call superior seafood soup. It's clear with crab n shrimp.
I made this, but my sauce had too much of the mayonnaise flavor. I used the exact amounts he said. I tried adding more honey and condensed milk ( about a tbl spoon extra of each). Any thoughts or help someone can give.
is there a trick to getting the shrimp to stay crispy after frying? I just tried it and it was super yummy, my only complaint is the shrimp doesn't stay crispy.

@atomrocketcar explain...
ahhahahah ur laughs and sense of humors made my day!
If you want more nut flavor, add amaretto or dissaronna or some other nut liqueur with the mayo
Ivan Sunga i think he said condent milk sorry if it does not help
what else can we use instead of mayonaise is there any real substitutes to it im afraid im allergic :(
Peanut would be best, but vegetable or canola would be fine too.
I made this, but my sauce had too much of the mayonnaise flavor. I used the exact amounts he said. I tried adding more honey and condensed milk ( about a tbl spoon extra of each). Any thoughts or help someone can give.
WOW man GREAT new INTRO!
