Now I am totaly convinced that I should not buy a action 5 pro. The gimbal isn't much help. Just use the action for action shots. Or buy another camera for vlogging. Kind of a good promo for the Pocket 3 tough!
You're totally right! Action camera is for action. I would not buy it just for vlogging, because OP3 is the way better. But OP3 has its limitation - rain, below 0 temperature (fogging), more fragile. So I would say - it is up-to your prime activity of which camera to buy.
@Fishycomics mentioned the C-type door was loose. It opens when you push it without pressing the button. The same thing happened on my dji 5. Do you also have such a problem? I wanted to ask if it could be a chronic problem.
On my camera no such a problem. C-type door is tough to open and always need to push the button, hold and swipe. If something would be wrong with that - I bet I would notice already, because I took this camera to 20.5 meters depth.
Just what I was researching myself after using the OA5pro Stabilization on my last video - shocked how much RS crops in the image. As a Pocket 3 owner I was disappointed the Action 5 Pro was nowhere close to the quality of the Pocket 3 - great videos my friend and have another sub!
@@englishcyclist thank you very much! You’re right, RS crops the image. Gimbal can be helpful in a good light conditions, to make Action camera videos more cinematic. But it cannot compete with Pocket 3.
That was the most relaxing review video I have ever watched. LOL Great content again bro! OP3 for the win here though. Can't wait to get my hands on one.
@@DavidRodas thank you so much! OP3 is a winner, and perhaps will be a winner until (if) the next version of OP3 will be released 😃. I would like to compare the quality of the lowlight footage with my Sony RX10 Mk3.
I've been using the Falcon Plus Gimbal with my Action 3 and it's made a big difference. Sort of turns it into a chunky Pocket 3. I tried the Hohem, but the Falcon Plus is MUCH better, it's smaller and the mount doesn't cover the rear touchscreen and I added a DJI quick release mount so its way easier and more secure than the loose and fiddly Hohem version that only takes the camera without the standard DJI protection cover/case, then I can swap it back onto my bike mount and rattle down the side of the hill in the rain in Action Cam mode. Then click it back on the Gimbal for some 'cinematic' shots. It also has a selfie-mode, double press the trigger and it rotates like the Pocket 3. Yes, you shouldn't need a gimbal with an action camera, but it can increase the professionalism of your footage massively. On the end of a selfie stick you can get some high crane shots, low riser shots or some push-throughs... 🙏
@@Bokooda thank you very much for the comment in all details! I haven’t been trying a Falcon gimbal, but I have seen, how compact it is. I definitely need to try it by myself. Does Falcon Plus gimbal support different modes, like POV, Lock, etc?
@@SupersonicTraveller Yes, it does all the standard modes and has a great 'flashlight' mode where you can hold the gimbal pointing forward and the camera is facing forward - lets you get shots at different heights from the ground. The app's a bit dated, but functional. You also can't set position markers for timelapses like the Hohem app can.
Honestly... I own the Pocket 3 and the AO3. I was seriously thinking about getting the AO5, but... seeing those two cameras side by side now, I think I am going to stick with the Pocket 3 and maybe get a second one. I like the image of the Pocket 3 way better. The only reason I was thinking about the AO5 is because it's waterproofed. My camera gets a bit wet maybe once a year, so the AO3 will keep doing for this purpose. Thank you for this video, it helped me a lot!
@@TheBestShowman thank you for your feedback. I’m glad this video helped you! OA5 has its advantages, but it is not a competitor for OP3. Do you perform any underwater activities?
@@SupersonicTraveller I am professional dog groomer. I mostly film myself indoor, working on the dogs, with very long sessions up to 2-3 hours. I use the Pocket 3 for the normal shots and the AO3 for overhead shots, on top of the bath tub and sometimes IN the bath tub. So the AO3 actually gets wet once in a while. Beside of that, I am never doing action shots, just holiday videos once in a while 🙂
@@SupersonicTraveller By the way, the reason I am looking for another camera is, that I would like to have a second perspective of what I am doing. Since during my work I have no time to change the camera position. Sometimes I use the AO3 with a head mount also. That gets tricky with the Pocket 3...
@@SupersonicTraveller I tryed it, it doesn't work for me. I own also the Osmo Mobile 3. But since my phone is also my work phone, I cannot use it for longer videos. So I would need to buy another phone and that doesn't make much sense. If the OA3 wouldn't have such a horrible video quality compared to the Pocket 3, I would be happy with it... but when cutting that footage together... it just looks BAD. The AO3 is somehow really mushi. In your video, the colors of AO5 and P3 are noticeable different. You recorded with the same settings on both cameras, right?
I have had this gimbal before I purchased Osmo Pocket 3. And I've used it with the my previous GoPro 11. The comparison here is to show if people needs to spend extra to buy Osmo Pocket 3, or they can transform their action camera into a gimbal-handled camera.
That is true, but all these gliter shaking could be eliminated with Gyroflow app. You might want to see an example in my last video DJI Action 5 Pro in D-LOG M. Let me know what do you think about it.

@ i have read somewhere that you can use the hohem m6 gimbal with the dji action 5 pro, have you tried this by chance or will a mobile cellular device only work with the m6? 🙇♂️
Thank you so much! Gimbal Hohem iSteady Pro 4 has its own mount to connect the action camera. It is adjustable and should fit for all action cameras of the type like GoPro or DJI Action or Insta360 Ace.
@SupersonicTraveller I just picked up a DJI Mobile 6 gimble for my iPhone, but I'm still learning how to use it 😆 🤣 😂 but after watching your video, you have given me more ideas 💡
DJI Mobile 6 is an excellent gimbal. I wanted to buy one, but it wasn't in stock. So I got Hohem M6 for the mobile phones. And in my next videos, next week, I will provide some hooks, tips on how to make the iPhone vlogging footage way better.
Can you compare the DJI osmo pocket 3 with the ace Pro 2 for low light comparison cuz everyone's always saying how great Ace Pro 2 is in low light but I think the pocket 3 would destroy it
i would just use a gimbal, with every phone/camera, that doesn't have one, you lose a lot, with cropping in, and what ever else they do. they are so cheep, and very light, and can hold a phone, very well. good job sir!
Frankly, I couldn't see any difference between it and Rocksteady. I think you can shoot at least this quality without a gibal. Yours is not a difference video. I think everyone knows that Pocket 3 detects better light due to its sensor. I wish you had compared the product by shooting it in two ways, with Rocksteady on and off.
Thank you for the ideas! I wanted to show, that using a gimbal with action camera might replace the RS mode and improve the image quality. I have more raw materials on it and more videos are coming along.
DJI still hasn't managed to fix the annoying green teardrop flare that appears in backlit shots making them unusable. It is a problem already known and present since Action 3
Good point. Perhaps they re-use the same components in order to keep compatible lenses, cases, battery, etc. I believe, this problem could be caused by the lens itself.
Hmmm there is still shaking even after the gymbal man. The video from the Pocket 3 still better overall, quite smooth. Idk i think this oa5pro is trash..
It is still shaking, right, but we can apply now a Gyroflow app to stabilize the video with the minimal lost. The video from Pocket 3 is definitely better due to larger sensor and built-in gimbal. But pocket 3 has its cons. Next week will be another video on my channel, how to configure the best video settings on Action 5 Pro for the low light and night conditions. Results appeared unexpected.
