    Not everyone “outgrows” their 300. Not every motorcycle rider wants to go 160mph.

    • @TURBOTWINKIE
      @TURBOTWINKIE  6 лет назад +67

      Yup you are right. In my opinion the 650cc bikes are perfect. You will never be able to go 160 mph on those, but you will have your RPMs much lower when on the highway which gives you much more passing power which I was missing on this bike. I got ninja 300 because its much cheaper on insurance, has really good looks and the bike it self is very affordable and very friendly. I live out of city so pretty much anywhere I go, I have to be above 60 mph. Im probably upgrading to fz 07 this spring. Thanks for comment :)

      I would absolutely agree that a 650 (or detuned 600 like the FZ6R) are about the perfect bike. They've easily got all of the power that you'll need. I've had my current bike for about the last year and I don't really care about more power except on some parts of group rides

    Let me just drop this little bit of information for all my Ninja Kawasaki 300 lovers. When you're in first gear pull the clutch at 5 miles per hour and rev the bike up to 4,000 and release the clutch with one finger while the other three hold the handlebars let go as fast as you can prepare for the front tire to raise up and congratulations you have done a little wheelie increase by 500 RPMs from the initial starting point to make the bike go higher off the ground. do not rev bite to 9000 RPM because it will make the bike stand completely up. If you're not ready for that you will dump the bike. Enjoy Wheeling on guys on bigger bikes and making them look stupid.

    • @jedr.3494
      @jedr.3494 6 лет назад +1

      therealtubeplayer this doesn't work for me. I was literally trying to wheelie 20 min ago... I only get the wheel to come up from a stop . Other than that the clutch just slips the power

    • @therealtubeplayer
      @therealtubeplayer 6 лет назад +13

      Wizdom Werks that's obviously because I wasn't trying to wreck your bike if you want that tire to come up off the ground go up 500 RPM at a time so go to 4,500 RPM than 5000 RPM and 5500 RPM than 6,000 RPM and 6500 RPM Penn 7500 RPM then 8000 RPM then 8500 RPM than 9000 RPM okay by the time you reach 9000 RPM you already standing the bike straight up in the air. I'm telling you to do it like this so you know what to expect from your bike.

    • @therealtubeplayer
      @therealtubeplayer 6 лет назад +4

      Wizdom Werks but if you want to just go for the gold start the bike at 8 miles an hour pull in the clutch and then rev the bike to 7000 RPM and then drop the clutch and prepared to hold on and it's in the front tire to do like a bunny hop. But I like to start people off from the bottom so they know what to expect. And you do this in first gear by the way.

    • @jedr.3494
      @jedr.3494 6 лет назад

      therealtubeplayer if I'm going faster than 5 mph and rev to limiter and drop the clutch I won't wheelie. Maybe I need to lean back but i gave it the fucking beans today and could not get it up if I was rolling. Now from a stand still with one foot on the ground them it's forsure gonna flip but if I'm rolling at all it won't go up

    • @therealtubeplayer
      @therealtubeplayer 6 лет назад +4

      Wizdom Werks bro do not lean back bro if anything your legs are supposed to grip the tank because you're not doing a staggered Willie you're doing good or sit down wheelie. I'm telling you there is no way you're doing what I'm saying right bro. Start the bike rolling at 5 miles per hour grab the clutch hold it rev the bike to 7000 RPM release the clutch as fast as you can

      "This makes no sense to me. I guess an r1 is way to much power a 300 is not enough" - It obviously IS enough, since he knew exactly what he was doing in the transfer. I guess my example won't make sense to you either.. I sold my 175 bhp Hayabusa to buy an Enfield Bullet fitted with an 8.5 bhp diesel engine (max speed 55 mph). That was 8 years ago. I still love the Enfield, & I don't regret selling the Busa even for a second. I get far more pleasure riding that diesel than I ever did from the Busa. Power & acceleration really isn't what make biking fun. Unless you are a wannabe racer of course. & all I can easily overtake are tractors! lol

      TURBO TWINKIE just got mine 2 days ago, the 2017 ninja 300 as a first bike. Haven’t taken it out on the street and not planning to for a while. I’m practicing figure 8 turns in a parking lot, shifting, etc. I’m just struggling a bit with the balancing when making slow turns, i get scared that im going to drop it and i just put my foot down. Hope i lose that fear soon

    I would never sell my ninja 300. I also have a GSXR1000 and I love going back to the 300 from time to time because it’s so nimble and fun

    I agree with you on many things: Near useless mirrors, crappy display, uncomfortable seat, etc. Also, I can lower the brake lever which is quite annoying. HOWEVER, I do not agree that people will outgrow within 6 months... and.. yes bang for the buck !!! ..( although I wonder if Ninja 400 would have been a better choice for me..lol..)

    "will probably outgrow it in 6 months", welcome to the eu where you're stuck with a 50cc that only goes 50kph for 2 years and then stuck with a 300 for 2 full years until when you're 20 and you can finally get the "heavy" motorcycle license

    • @007Jefke1
      @007Jefke1 6 лет назад +8

      Straight Wheel um, in Belgium a 300 is only allowed at 20? 50 at 16, 15 kW/125 at 18, 35 kW at 20 and ‘with growth’ A-license at 22, otherwise at 24..

    Also, awesome video and thank you for making it! I've found two Ninja 300s in my area (both white, I love that colour on sport bikes) which I'll look into further once I've done my learner's course. I'm VERY keen to jump on a little rocket!! Keep up the amazing work.

    In norway you can get a 125cc license at 16 years old, a mid class (up to something like 48hp) at 18, and the full license at 21. 300cc bikes are more than enough for getting around :)

    I've had the Versys 300 for a week, I've been asked "is that like a 700?" plenty of times, haha.
    I love the engine tho, i went for a quick ride to the mountains last night and it's so solid, as you said, it's too hard to stall this engine, it's solid at low revs, i was going steep uphills at 4th gear with no problem.
    The clutch is amazing, but the transmission is still a little hard, of course, it's a new bike.
    Just 1 question tho.
    Will a Ninja 300 burn more gas going at 120 km/h than a 650 at the same speed?
    The Ninja 300 can cruise at that speed all day, i already hit that on my versys and it's far from unrelaxed.
