I am genuinely surprised how well made these snails are. Their AI is so advanced. They really follow the bridges and stairs to get to you without getting stuck. They ONLY fly and break blocks when they have to. Props to whoever designed the mod.
I mean, no, they flew unnecessarily a few time (like when grian was in the dirt tunnel at the end), but in general they are pretty well made. i suspect it's just minecraft pathfinding with increased range.
Well it being better isn’t really anything to do with advancements in AI with Machine Learning, but rather just a well made hard coded AI, which is just being good at what you are doing The way I think it works is default Minecraft path finding with longer range, and if it can’t reach its target it uses various precoded options to escape depending on the situations, and with a bunch of other similar if this then do that
They were fantastically made! The only thing I wish was different is that they can only kill once. I feel like the unlimited kills were a bit overpowered.

Yea it's a custom addon to the original Immortal Snail mod, with features added for the LS members; pretty sure the way to kill it might have been patched, the OG mod had blue fire unaffected

I have never felt more invested in a life series episode, the snails added the energy of an old horror movie, like Halloween, where you just know there's something coming to the characters.
Whilst I personally still consider them to be a bit of an irrelevant ''just for the fun of it'' gimmick, it just goes to show how much this group of content creators make even an idea this dumb work decently well.

I'm an avid watcher of horror films. Not a massive fan but I've seen a fair few and they are somewhat of a guilty pleasure. In general there are, of course, jump-scares throughout them and while I definitely flinch at them and turn the screen away not many have ever made me outright scream. Grian your snail jumping you at 39:23 made me scream in a way that some primal fear was released from me. The single frame of its appearance before it got you sent me into a coma. My house mates have come to check someone wasn't breaking into my room. That was one of the most panic inducing things I have ever endured and I ask you kindly to please not put me through it again.
