As an H2 owner it boils down to it should of came with an intercooler from the factory, hard to sell a 36k bike then put another 4000$ intercooler on it. But on the flip side of thay if your spending 36k on a bike then you shouldn't be bothered. When people talk to me about getting an H2 I tell them to add another 10k ontop of the price for the intercooler and the exhaust and the tune. I try to push people into used ones, you save so much money. Alot of your complaints can be solved with money. Alot of other bikes can't solve there gremlins with anything.
It’s not PPF on the H2, it is a chemical in the paint that reacts with heat to smooth the top surface, not PPF plastic film applied on top of the paint.
No bro this is self healling paint which can't be aplied to Carbon parts. Its a top layer of special chemicals healing small scratches when are on heat or direct sunlight.PPF can be aplied to carbon but this cant.
@@larryhouse3776That’s a good point. Those are inline-4’s as well. I wonder if they wouldn’t make a bike like that for the streets though out of worry that it’s so ridiculously fast that it’d be a liability. I hope they throw caution to the wind. They usually seem to 😏
I looked at getting an h2 but hated the ergonomics and the looks (in person). Wound up buying a zx14r and absolutely love it. Very comfortable. Already did 1” bar risers and touring windshield. After a k&n filter, delkevic exhaust and Moore mafia tuned ecu it has 198 wheel hp & 118 tq. Way more than I’ll ever need.
Make sure you get the APE billet oil pump cover. My bike 14r and many other peoples have spun rod bearings because the oem pump cover flexes under high load, drops oil pressure and spins the bearings.
BTW the self healing sounds like ppf(paint protection film) which can be installed in any bike and car, just need to find a wrap or tint shop that offers it
When you are pinning it and the supercharger is spinning at high speed the boost pressure is much higher and the temperature will increase - that is perfectly normal and would be expected. . . .ever checked the end of a bicycle pump after you have pumped up a tire. An intercooler will certainly help reduce the air temperature going into the cylinders and will increase the power output (lower temperature - higher air density. 200-250 degrees (F) is absolutely not a problem for metal engine parts (I'm a mechanical engineer) - the engine oil temperature is what matters and provided the oil flow through these parts is high enough the oil temperature will stay within an acceptable operating range . . . . note there are a lot of oils out there used in heat transfer applications that can handle 500F or higher.
The main problem with high intake air temperatures is fuel related pre-ignition. If you check out the live data on a scan tool while driving most cars you will see the IATs are tied to hard limits on ignition timing advance. Naturally aspirated engines on pump gas (87-93 octane) typically run 25-35° of ignition advance at peak torque. Forced induction engines running pump gas typically run 12-18° of ignition timing advance at peak torque to avoid pre-ignition issues. Pump E85 (108 octane) can push closer to 20°-25° advance with forced induction. People like to keep their secrets about methanol tuning but I believe people will often run 45° or more of ignition advance and IATs are almost irrelevant due to the cooling effect of methanol fuel.
Thank you, as another ME I'm glad someone mentioned the fact that 250F will do nothing to your forced air induction setup. Definitely will suck power though.

I track both of them and before adding the yagerworx intercooler to my bike, boost temps got 100*c (212*f) on a fairly cool day. The higher it got, the more the ecu was cutting timing. Got the intercooler and it doesnt matter the ambient temp, my boost temps stay cool. As for the service interval. Your dealership is partially full of shit. There is an extra service but all it is, is attaching a magnetic arm to the frame with a dial gauge to check the supercharger axial play. Literally grabbing the impeller blades out and in to see how much play there is. If its within spec, which it should be, its fine, no service needed. If its out of spec, the supercharger needs to be torn down and bearings/gears replaced. The axial play isnt $1500, so not sure where the dealership got that number from. There is one more supercharger related service and its easy but alot of work to get to and that is the supercharger oil screen. The fuel tank, air plenum, throttle body, right side throttle body holder, coolant hose and crank case cover have to be removed just to get to a small plug with a small little filter screen on. My SX had red loctite gummed up in it since Kawasaki loves using red loctite on every fucking bolt.
I guess I'm a poser with my winglets, H2R cams and supercharger gears, along with my intercooler. The only bad I have with the H2 is finding neutral and gas mileage.

I like my 03 YZF R1 better. Sometimes the real classic lightweight superbike is just better. No crappy electronics to worry about. Is the H2 faster? Sure. But the H2 is not a real classic sportbike, its something else...
I was lucky enough to ride my brothers' 1986 H2 750cc superbike which had upgraded cams. It was a pain to start and had to be fully warm before riding or it would choke and splutter all over the place. BUT... when it came on cam my definition of warp speed changed... I had chased my brother to 220kph + on a zx6r (first of the ram air tuned airbox model) and he was leaving me in his dust and I was red lining each gear.. it was old, it felt heavy to ride, but it was the fastest accelerating bike I'd ever ridden.. today's H2 owes its heritage to that 750. 😎
I have absolutely no idea what "1986 H2 750cc superbike" are you actually talking about because 748 cc Kawasaki H2 Mach IV was only produced since 1971 to 1975. Also, this bike is two-stroke - so it has no cams.
@thoughtaken thanks dude! I'm the same age as you and don't have cash like that rn but I hope I get one of the motorcycles too. Always wanted to know what the bike life is like
You spend three times the normal super bike price for this bike and then you complain about extra maintenance and survice costs. I doubt Ferrari, Lamborghini, not even Porsche and Mercedes owners complain about this ower if they had bought a Honda or Toyota.

Need to do that after I get my R6 touched up. Going to be a min before then, but hopefully before it gets colder so I can get the PPF as well.

It has forced induction without an intercooler? Weird, at least as a car owner.
I think you forget... the ZX-14 STILL has more torque, ie lower, longer and will take out the H2 AND the Hayabusa on the dragstrip!
Use boiling water or super hot water Wil help speed up the healing. I have an h2 and put one on it and used hot water to fix it.
Ehhh a hair dryer would probably be a safer alternative there
Intake temp wont kill your bike... But ts gonna kill its performance temporerly and waste alot of fuel just to cool down intrnals.
Anyone else see the car insurance commercial? If you are paying more than 30.00 per month you are getting ripped off. 😂😂😂. I need to cut myself off from all media. It’s just horrible.
You probably shouldn’t look into what typical oil temps are 🤣
Do the riders who try to pose as H2R owners ever say how they got them registered as street legal? 😂
run with an exhaust tip and your boost temps will be lower
I like my 03 YZF R1 better. Sometimes the real classic lightweight superbike is just better. No crappy electronics to worry about. Is the H2 faster? Sure. But the H2 is not a real classic sportbike, its something else...
I completely forgot all about the self healing paint
Wich bike is better Kawasaki h2r or BMW 1000 RR ?
Heat wise, how does it compare to the panigale? I heard those were super hot as well.
Mt07 ninja 400 KING
Are you keeping your motorcycles inside a storage unit?
Just get the H2R brother
"Self Healing" paint. Who knew...?
Wait hold up I'm 3,500 miles in on mine and have only done an oil change ...
Sweet, shot out from ohio, got me another 👍 bike Indian FTR 1200, definitely check one out
I was lucky enough to ride my brothers' 1986 H2 750cc superbike which had upgraded cams.
See you should have bought a Honda Monkey like me! ❤
which roadtrip is on your bucket list?
2:36 well it wouldn’t be quite a real h2 anymore either would it?
Id prefer a zx10 and a v4 over an h2 honestly
What didn't you like with your h2?
H2r is not street legal so rip
How are you able to afford all of these bikes man? Asking as a young peer of yours
i made a video 2 weeks ago talking about that, feel free to check it out kinda describes my background
@thoughtaken thanks dude! I'm the same age as you and don't have cash like that rn but I hope I get one of the motorcycles too. Always wanted to know what the bike life is like
Kawi's in general need a self healing to it engines reliablity. 4:18
You spend three times the normal super bike price for this bike and then you complain about extra maintenance and survice costs. I doubt Ferrari, Lamborghini, not even Porsche and Mercedes owners complain about this ower if they had bought a Honda or Toyota.
Could you please provide the source for the H2s discontinuation?
and the 6th thing....the Kawasaki H2....is a Ninja O__O
Toxic positivity with bike reviews is real
If you’re getting into motorcycles, an h2, or any liter bike for that matter, shouldn’t even be a consideration lol
the self healing thing is PPF isnt it? I have it on my bike and it does the same thing
"How tragic"
