If it makes you feel any better, Benny and Sal from Comic Pop both knew about the concept of the absolute universe years before it was announced. Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson had been thinking about doing something like it since 2019 and Benny told on a stream a few months ago that Scott pulled Benny and Sal aside at a comic con a couple years ago and told them that he’s working on an “ultimate universe for DC”. I’m sure he would have loved it so much. R.I.P Benny.
This new universe is proof that comic writers should be allowed to rework pre-established lore as much as they want, as long as the end result is a good, interesting, and engaging story.
A little like they did with The Spider? An archer superhero, some time ago his backstory was changed and how he did things. It was kinda interesting what they did in that Shade comic.
