Props to the lady on the left for having a bow and stern line! She had that boat under control. It shocks me when someone has just a bow line and the boat is all over the place.
She should be in the boat and driving it off instead of messing around with dock lines. Two launch lanes and people STILL park at the dock?! Unbelievable how inconsiderate some people can be.
So if the bass boat was already backing in ? My bass boat would have launched like that guy did and I would have trimmed up and took off filling the little boat with water. Ooooopps. LOL
@@SpringValleyOutdoors I used to have a Ranger with a 200 on it... In California you get all kinds of new and or stupid people on the ramps. I ask polite and then just get even. I hope they learn LOL
Little boat should have tied up farther out on the dock until the trailer was ready. BUT, I've never seen a seasoned bass boater who didn't get his boat launched in 3 minutes. I think he could have floated it, backed it off the trailer, and tied it up out near the end of the dock where the small boat should have been.
🤔Boat ramp etiquette is a microcosm of what is wrong with America today! Lack of common sense, lack of awareness, going through life with blinders on, self-serving interest vs greater good.
The worst thing about ramp "fights" is if you're the one launching while the other guy stays there, you're in a bad situation. You don't know what you might be returning to.
Small boat 100% at fault. 2 secs to make situation right, maybe even grab lines and get a new friend out of it.. but nope. Gotta be a jerk. I hope a surf boat has full ballasts sends some massive rollers your way lil boat.

The world is full of narccissists because we have spoiled our kids into thinking that they are something special and respect for others is nonexistent.
I'm so lucky where we live people know how to launch and if not most offer them help and we just move right along. In the south we just do things a lot different.
one in one out is the rule where i go so if someone had just launched and the dingy pulled up to load then bass boat guy is wrong, if some had just loaded then dingy guy is wrong, wait ya turn...
Next trailer in line determines who launches or loads next. Simple enough for everyone to understand. Have heard many versions of "situational" launch/load methods, but they all break down when everybody has their own interpretation of "if this...then that". Too convoluted, too many variables, just keep it simple: one line for trailers to access the ramp, and the next trailer goes next. Works exponentially better than the free for all we so often see in these videos.
Am I crazy but every ramp I have ever been to (which is a bunch having worked at a boat dealership) the line is via the order of the vehicles in the parking lot not the boats on the water. If you are "pulling out" you drop a person at the dock to go get the car/truck and they get in the line for the ramp. If you are putting in you prep the boat away from the ramps unless the line is long and you can really get it prepped as you roll in line but you have to be ready either way when you get there. I fish with a guy a lot and I bet we are in the actual ramp maybe 30 seconds on the way in to dump and maybe 2 mins on the way out. If people would really prep and plan just a little there should be few lines at any ramps on normal days.
@ lovethe dogs - No, you're NOT crazy, what you describe is the correct way of launching and loading. How it's done at the dozens of places in several different states where I've launched. In 35 years, have never seen anyone tie to a dock, except in an emergency. The way they do things in these videos is illogical and completely ass backwards.
@@theone4929 Next trailer goes first. Have yet to hear a rational explanation as to why a boat in the water should EVER have priority. "Getting there first" means nothing if your trailer isn't immediately available and ready to load. Some of these people spend 30-40 minutes tying up, getting their trailer, and backing it in, etc. How long are others supposed to wait for them? People around here have no patience for those who spend more than a couple of minutes on the ramp. If a novice, or a slowpoke, isn't ammenable to advice and/or assistance, other boaters will launch around you, through you, and, if necessary, push your boat onto the beach. The amount of ramp hogging and dock blocking in some of these videos is absolutely INSANE.
@@richardredhead exactly, a boat in the water cannot have priority. The ramp I use in Crystal River Florida to the gulf has for launch bays. If all four launch bays have boats in there waiting to be pulled out, the ramp is then basically shut down because there might be 30 vehicles with boats waiting to launch. The 4 vehicles with empty trailers are now in line behind 30 boats in line to launch. The lane going to the launch that forms the line is single; it's impossible to pass somebody in that line. And that is why the vehicle has priority not a boat at the ramp. This rule exists not as a factor of convenience of time but it is a logical sequence that must be followed to keep the flow going of launching and retrieving. This is all so clearly explained in every boater safety class.
@@theone4929 Every busy ramp I've ever visited, everyone just lines up in a single file, like adults. Can't imagine what would happen if anyone tried to bypass that line.
