I just saw a story (I believe also in Texas) where a school resource officer violently arrested and mased him for not play Kick ball in gym and played basketball later. The point I am making is that resource officer is also under investigation for sexual misconduct with a minor female. How is a Sherriff deputy under active investigation given a job around children in the 1st place? Why is he even a sheriff deputy? Most departments were given more funding, not defunded. NYPD, MPD, APD all received well over their previous years' budgets. Even in poor cities like Buffalo, NY their PD budget balloned. No one was defunded. But enjoy sinking more taxpayer money into cowardly cops that stand by while children are brutally murdered. Uvalde PD took 40 percent of the town's budget. Turned out, they weren't worth it. Police should be defunded. Bring the budget down to a reasonable amount and spend the rest on mental health programs, education, crime prevention, promoting jobs, etc. And develop actual hiring standards for police and accountability. The Uvalde PD spent millions on training they refused to adhere to and on weapons and gear they refused to use. I pay taxes. I don't like seeing my tax dollars wasted on cowardly cops.
