I just YESTERDAY upgraded from my 550D/T2i, and it served me very very well. I got excited to see it here! The sound of that shutter will live in my head forever. Lovely video, and lovely photos!
my first camera was the canon 450D but i switched to the sony a6400 a few month ago. I can say its a day night difference. I love your POV videos, nice shots!
i had 400D, switched to 80D few years back, also day-night difference, been thinking about switching to sony, probably 6700 😄 how do you like the 6400 so far? 😄
@@JacobBco i really like it so far, and if i could go back in time im pretty sure id still choose the a6400. The only drawback would be the screen and the missing image stabilization. I choose it over the a6600 which has img stbl. bc i got the a6400 new for a price as of a used one, and the a6600 also has the same uncomfortable non-tilting screen. So the a6700 would have been my choice if i werent on a really low budget. Also the a7m3 could be an option, but its a worse screen and has less mp, but its fullframe so... (id still choose the a6700)
@@al_photography_15Hey! I started photography with the a6000, then got the a6400 for many years and last year I switched to the A6700. I specifically got APSC again because changing my whole kit to full frame would have been to expensive for me. What I really like about the a6700 is the rotating screen, it is quite a bit thicker and feels more robust and sturdy, also improved weather sealing compared to the a6400. Yes of course the autofocus is a bit better. But the A6400 is still great. I think 99,9% of the time I don’t get any better pictures out of it. But still, full frame with all the new lenses would be so costly and I’m not earning any money with it. It is just a hobby. So overall I’m very satisfied with what I got. My point is, don’t think about to much about not getting the A6700, your A6400 is very capable and over the years I shot amazing pictures with it!
@@JacobBcoI too was a Canon user (500D) and switched to the Sony A6700. I recently switched to full frame (A7RV) body. I just wanted to tell that if you’re planning on getting the A6700 or for that matter, any crop sensor body, do not get any APSC lenses with it. Any full frame lens is fine. FF lenses will give you more reach and if you’re plannin on upgrading to a FF body, you don’t need to get separate lenses for it. I made a huge mistake getting the A6700 with. The 18-135mm lens.
I've been using the Canon 650D due to budget restraints and I love it. This video proves that the majority of what makes a photo is the artist-- lovely editing:)
I started on the 550D. It's truly incredible how far cameras have come. Technology just leapt ahead to the point where focus speed isn't even discussed anymore, for example.
lol the casual photos you take of landscapes and roads look WAY better than ANY photos submitted to various photography subreddits and competitions. amazing. thanks for the great video
I am so happy seeing this mainly bc I have a 700d myself with the 55-250mm lens from canon and this really shows that I can still learn a lot behind the camera. Lots of love from the Netherlands and please keep making these videos
Loved this video man, I am getting into photography myself and this is really inspiring seeing your photos using your old camera. Cant wait to see more
Haha I currently use a t3i as my main camera. I got it back in high school, and ended up investing the money I would have spent on upgrading the body to get a Sigma 150-600mm lens. That lens with my t3i allowed me to take on bird photography as a hobby. It's got a bunch of limitations for sure, but I've still found it more than capable of taking great bird photos with the right lens.
A good photographer can take great photos even with slightly inferior gear. An inexperienced photographer, on the other hand, won’t benefit much from having top-of-the-line equipment. The photographer’s knowledge and skill level are what matter, and the gear is just a tool. It always makes me cringe when someone says, "You take great pictures, you must have a really good camera." Great and fun video! I should dig out my old cameras and go shoot as well. Greetings from Finland!
I can absolutely imagine the smell and the feeling of the cold 😊 I just wish where I live was green like this and then I would be going out for photos way more haha. Anyways, lovely video.
My first camera was the Canon 2000D, I then bought a 600d to do videos with. I then built up my portfolio and went over to Sony with the a7iii. That mechanical “vrrt vrrt” at 11:38 is so nostalgic. So yes, you can get nostalgia from the stuff you used to use.
I bought the same camera brand new in 2010-2011 with kit 18-55 and 75-300. So many great memories and trips. I love your fog photos ❤ I don’t miss the sound of AF on those cheap lenses 😂

if you could saving your money a little more, you might want to get sigma 150-600mm. Your coverage in wildlife will be greatly improved rather than 70-300mm.
@@Durio_zibethinus thanks for the recommendation. But the more gap there is in the focal length in that lens at such affordable price seems kind of under performing than the other short range lenses at this price point I would say. Depends, if you have used it please tell me how it performs with an aps-c sensor, if it gets soft and vignettes around 300-600mm at wide apertures Or not.
@@L-FITNESS it works even on older APSC DSLR such as Canon 40D. So I don't think it will be worse on newer one like 550D or 100D. You can watch professional challenging themselves with older DSLR but using sigma 150-600mm on RUclips. The problem is 100D is designed as compact as possible, hence have a small grip. If you have a bigger hand, your comfort might be compensated.
I want to do some wildlife and landscape photog with my Nikon d3400 once we come back to my dad's province maybe next year (To be fair, not a lot of wildlife, but there's a lot of mountains and sea there). What are some F mount lenses that I could use for some wildlife that I could find commonly second-handed, would any 70-300mm will do? I currently have the 18-55mm kit lens it came with. And, nice vid too! I like the bts work of some simple shots that take the right time in both shooting and processing!

@@Durio_zibethinus 😂I am 5"11' so my hands just gulp the whole camera
@@L-FITNESS what a gap, I will recommend to try it first on the store, and imagine your comfortability as if using it for hours on field.
Good luck.
13:50 I can feel the frustration through the video of not getting some birds in the photos you just took 😄
Haha yes, very frustrating 😆
Nikon D80 for Nikkor AF 75-300mm will arrive soon) just want to try dslr after mirrorless and to use my old zoom lens with autofocus
I dont know why. But i like the Photos you shoot from the Deer and it was Dark.
That Tamron 70-300 VC is quite a good lens anyway (I have it), it better quality than the similar priced Canon alternative.
I like that lens too!
Hey! Great video, Olle. I wonder, what camera do you use for these POV videos? I mean the one on your chest, ha 😅
The best camera is the one you have with you.
Can you use canon 1000d for natural photography?
