Traded in my 2016 f-150 for a 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser this past Monday. Ordered a roof top tent tonight with the black friday sales. I'd like to say now my journey begins but in reality it began while watching you guys and other overlanding youtubers. Thanks for sharing your journey and inspiring people like me to get out and explore the world for what it really is.
This is an awesome post. I purchased a 2018 Toyota Tacoma recently and just LOVE it, can't wait to take my family on road trips. I've already decked it out with a black HD diamond back cover and some rotopax fuel tanks - let the journeys begin!
I recently traded in my 2013 F-350 for a 2018 Toyota Tacoma last Friday! I’ve really been looking at things to get for it after my warranty is up on it! I decided that I wanna explore the country and this would be an awesome way to do so!
You guys make use of your drone footage better than most! It's not over-used, not too long, but just right to capture epic moments that conventional camera work wouldn't tell near the same story.
Super pumped for this season. I've stated it before, this is the only channel that I come back to watch episodes over again. Just got my own roof top tent and winch for my truck and have been touring through British Columbia any chance I get with like minded friends. This channel was a HUGE part of making that ambition a reality.
Pure Awesomeness! It's hard for me to enjoy any other overlanding videos from other people now that I've been watching all yours the last 2 years. Great job and can't wait for the next one. Poor Ty!
Damn. such well made episodes, look at those sponsors..........How does this not have more viewers.... I feel like a exclusive member watching this show! :D
I am planning our own trip driving from the UK to Greece and back to the UK which will be manned by veterans suffering the effects of war and also to commemorate the centenary of the end of WW1 so we will be visiting sites from WW1, WW2 the more recent wars in the Balkans and as some of the veterans taking part are suffering from PTSD we will also be visiting ancient sites in Marathon, Greece where the first recorded symptoms of something akin to PTSD and also ancient sites of the Romans. We are building a minimum of 3 Land Rovers which and a trailer with all work being done by veterans which will be our vehicles for the expedition. I have watched all your episodes and have take great inspiration from them
We start the expedition on the 01st of September 2018. The build of the vehicles has already started here is a short video about the background to the expedition ruclips.net/video/S66vOQE_Z0k/видео.html&sns=fb
My father fought in Vietnam so seeing the vet support system that we have today is not only just spectacular but makes a wee bit emotional. Growing up my dad didn't have nightmares or anything of the sort so to speak BUT he found out in the late 90's that he had Hep-C from his time in the service. The treatment they put him on would make hallucinate in his sleep and have flashbacks thus dragging back up his PTSD. It was a scary time for us. So knowing there are support groups like this out there makes me just absolutely exuberant.
Thanks for sharing that mate we hope in the future to come to the US and get British veterans and US veterans taking part. We have one US veteran on this expedition who lives in the UK and suffers from PTSD and we are training him to do the filming and editing before we set off.
What an amazing series. The most wonderful thing about your adventures and you guys exploring places that we can't physically go is that if one person goes then everybody goes along with them. :) Cheers mate!
Switching team members mid-trip always has the potential of creating a degree of havoc. That said, you guys do it smoothly and efficiently, from what we as an audience can see. It just goes to show how important it is for people to be able to effectively fill a role that may not be their primary. Even illness brings this to the forefront. You have an incredible team, Clay. God speed, XO, as you start the second stage.
Clay, I must say that you are amazing as a leader and I look up to you in a huge way. To all of you, these series’ are amazing and inspiring and make me wanna get outside. Thank you so much for your overlanding, filming, and editing for us. The work goes a long way. And Ty... buddy... Have a nice weekend and hope everyone’s thanksgiving was good.
xo team congrats o completing an epic expedition. thanks for showing the tunnels the switchbacks snow capped mountains the highest tunnel and to top it all the emerald lake, whoa! perhaps you will never forget the pilizei in the thick of night and the gunshot. awesome.
Best episode of this season so far!! Keep up the good work. I do miss return to mckenzies' hardy obstacles and watching u guys get out of a tight situations though
to be fair the programme has been fruitless not boring but laborious, although i really enjoyed the very first series that got me knowing about the this whole thing but ever since its been dull despite all the work and efforts that has gone into it. thank you
Must have been the craziest feeling hearing that gun shot, like you said in the last episode, "I miss my guns". Just a nice peace of mind to have them.
“Flash your lights and honk your horn before coming in the tunnel” that’s what I took away from this video, lol. In all seriousness, a great series. I’m sure a lot of us in spirit would love to this drive, but in reality would probably avoid..
I freakin love your shows. Followed and watched all the old Alaskan series and loved them all. Really enjoying each episode of this adventure so far. Wish I had the $$$ to fully outfit my Tacoma and join you folks on a future trip. Great show! Aloha from Hawaii!
Great videos guys. I’ve been all over South America and I know those mountain passages very well. The first time I got altitude sickness I was in Bolivia and the locals just gave me coca leaves to chew. You can also make a tea out of coca leaves, which I believe are legal in Peru and Bolivia. It will heal you in no time.
This is a ok series. I enjoy the Alaska/Yukon one the most. I enjoy the editing or narrative so much more. It felt like a more natural series to watch.
Loving the new season! I can only imagine the excitement of the campsite with the police incident. Thankful that went ok. I'm hoping to make it to SLC for the party but may be taking a wilderness advanced first aid course in big bend that may keep me away. Incidents like the machetes make me realize how little I know about first aid and with wheeling, camping, hunting, fishing, and not to mention farming for a living, I need to learn about it. So Ty, thanks for the reminders about first aid lol!
I think you guys for continuously going on trips soon posting it to RUclips. Cuz in my life I have very little motivation to do anything to get anywhere, but this gives me hope that if I push hard enough I can get there too
Duane House Do it! ☺️ The only difference between people who do things and people who don't are that the people who do things... Do things. There's no magic to motivation. You just have to start. Go for it!
What an incredible highway! I happen to live an hour away from the Columbia Icefields Parkway in the Canadian Rockies but that road through the Andes puts it to shame.
You guys should definitely come to Botswana, you would have a wonderful time, I guess Rachelle will tell you all about it. Come and enjoy the Desert, Savanna and Swampy Delta all in one country hahaha.
Can you guys do a video on that land cruiser how was it on gas? and On repairs? how did it compare to the other two? How was it set up I know you guys did a small amount on your life stuff before the trip I just want to know post trip .
Check out Jeff's "Oh Hey There" series as well as the "Vehicles" playlist on XO's main YT page. Those should answer your questions. As for the maintenance side, there's wisdom is using similar vehicles (Tacoma and 4Runner) for expeditions like this. Even some of the smaller components (shock bolts, etc) of the Land Cruiser are going to be shared with the other two. This interchangeablitiy limits what mechanical gear you want to have spares of. As for MPG's, it's finding a good balance. With the trailer, they need the V8 power the LandCruiser offers. Great thing about Toyota's though, is that they are all efficient for their vehicle type.
The footage from the series is amazing. That campsite by the river could be home for me! Excited to see the next episode! P.S. I’ve come to the conclusion that Ty and Machetes don’t mix well!
Sphincter clenching moment with armed men running up on you! Thanks for sharing a reminder of the dangers of travel and adventure. I'm glad for you all nothing went sour with that one!
I started watching ep1 s3 this evening and now im stuck with it. such a shame this vids has only 74k views. i mean like, the cameras are good, the vids are good, the quality of it are overall good but how come this only have 74k views T_T

It’s 12:41am here in Southern California and I cannot seem to stop watching! You guys are living the dream!!!!
2:44 for me
Good people, excellent photography... Grateful no one was seriously harmed.
Enjoy the Show! This all in all is one of the most memorable portions of the trip for several of us. HAHA!
ExpeditionOverland that police encounter when they where armed would have shook me. You guys handled that very well.
I really do love what you guys do with these productions.
Thanks!
ExpeditionOverland Yes! Hype!
Guys welcome to Peru! Keep up with the awesome expeditions and have a great time here 🇵🇪

"I can fart without pooping" ~ expedition overland ~ season 3. Loving every minute of it!
+Brad Conklin the true realities of international travel hahaha. Poor Nate.

Best series on RUclips
These episodes have been the best Friday nights, ever, for me. Thank you so much. It's such a pleasure to explore the world alongside your team.

That is definitely not the way I would want to wake up in the middle of the night! The tunnel road was pretty amazing!
High Altitude Siclness is no joke. Thanks for taking care of him. You guys did the right thing. Enjoyed the episode.
SR3711 well said you can develop lung or brain injury that could be even fatal. always respect altitude tolerance.
Epic! great vid!! Those cliff shots with the tunnels are amazing!
Clay, I must say that you are amazing as a leader and I look up to you in a huge way. To all of you, these series’ are amazing and inspiring and make me wanna get outside. Best episode yet! Hope to see some more dirt action!
Awesome as usual!

Did YT disable monetization of this video or did you choose not to show ads?
Couple of big companies sponsored this series, when you get paid from a third company YT wont monetize your videos

Awesome show again
