I saw them in a club in Pittsburgh called Metropol in 89 or 90. some where in that time frame. It was one of the best concerts i have ever seen. The performance of this song is forever burned into my brain.
Damn, Dug has Dizzy Gillespie Syndrome! When you don't learn how to properly sing... his entire throat is ballooning out when he strains to hit the medium high to high notes anymore. He used to be an amazing singer but he lost a good bit of range. Notice he isn't going for that B4 in the intro. He's hitting the A4 and also the falsetto screams. Poor guy, he's already straining by 1:31 just trying to hit the G4. Time don't play with anyone. It beats everyone down. 10:35 wtf? At least he was able to hit the B4 right before that dying turkey sound. I love King's X. Ty's guitar sound is and was one of the best ever.
Ty's sound is huge for sure. As someone is into music and running I know what you mean about aging. I certainly wish I could run the times that I used to. Just because I can't doesn't mean that I quit running though :) Watched some of your videos and they are very impressive my friend.
I actually dig this aged voice of his, but I agree he should stay away from those super high notes, LOL. BTW, I remember you commented on one of my King´s X covers a few years back, now I have a small playlist for those - check it out if you got the time (link below). I did Cigarettes vocal cover and Dogman and The Burning Down (all music and vocals is me). I'll go have a listen to your covers!
I didn´t know that! I do remember a video you were playing the Over My Head solo with a guitar tone super similar to Ty´s, which was very cool. I´ve just listened to your King´s X vocal covers - they were pretty awesome - especially Cigarettes! you´ll see that all my covers are in totally different keys from the originals - so I can get to some of the notes, lol o/@@TruthSurge
