The Electric Ballroom, Camden, London. I was in the audience for this gig, a friend and myself are part of the ensemble of vocalists! We even bumped into Dug before the gig in a Chinese restaurant not far from the venue, he was polite, generous and gracious. This whole night is one of my favourite gigging memories.

    • @notabillyjoelfan
      @notabillyjoelfan Год назад

@@dw89music73 I think their music was commercial enough. They had an image problem. Boys didn't see their videos and think they were cool or tough. Girls weren't hanging up Jerry, Dug, and Ty posters next to their Kip Winger and Bret Michaels . That was important in the late 80s when MTV was everything. And then when Grunge happened, and they looked like they were trying too hard to look the part. Their albums between 88 and 96 were all fantastic though.

  • @henkehakansson2004

I love this version. What stumps me totally, and makes me totally flabbergasted is that the audience is actually - when the chorus comes - sings in harmonies. Not all, but you can detect them underneath, and they keep the harmony. This is a first for me, with any rock audience singing. The verses are straight melodies though. But then when the "I....." comes, and especially the second time around.

I have said it myself and it's repeated constantly that King's X is underrated and under appreciated. After watching this video the question is, is it the quantity of fans or the quality of fans"? I think that King's X should be funded by go fund me. And, I think they are appreciated, by the right number of true fans. I love King's X and anyone who supports them. They brought me through my teen years in a very strict religious home. That same home allowed me to buy their albums because they were in Christian bookstores. Doug, Ty, Jerry, thanks so much for the music, lyrics and originality that forms King's X.

My then boyfriend introduced me to their music and gave me the album that Goldilox is on. I'd never heard of them before and I fell in love with Goldilox in particular. Even decades later this still sounds fresh and amazing. When we went to see them on Long Island they were great but, for some bizarre reason, I kept getting stabbing pains in my ears when they played, which was a bit of a downer but still, they were great! I went to loads of gigs with the boyfriend at the time, including Melissa Etheridge at Jones Beach, Del Amitri at Irving Plaza, NY, and Billy Joel at Madison Square Gardens. I can't believe
    summer's almost here
I made it through another year even if alone
But there's no tears in my eyes
Life is still full of surprise
I'm not looking for a one night stand
I stand behind you and I watch you from a mile away
Wishing you could be the one but not here this way
I got to know your name
And I must know who you are, yeah
I look at you and I know who you are
You're just a little bit too far from my home
But please don't get me wrong
Even though it has been long
I hope I never sing my last song without someone
I stand behind you and I watch you from a mile away
Wishing you could be the one but not here this way
I got to know your name
And I must know who you are, yeah
I stand behind you and I watch you from a mile away
I'm wishing you could be the one but not here this way
I'd like to know your name
And I must know who you are, yeah

That is possibly the sickest thing I've ever seen--or pretty high up on the list! ::chokes up::
Here because I dreamt I was singing this randomly with a visual-kei-looking dude on an elevator. XD
