Not so young really, they were at least 10 years older than many other bands who broke in the 90's. Dug is over 70 now and the other guys arent too far behind.
I LLLLOVE this band !!!! Many agree, one of the most under rated bands ever🤨 I've been listening to these guys since day one. Hey Kings-X , we're out here and we are listening ❤❤❤❤!!
Wow, a Goldilox performance where Dug actually needs to sing himself? Was that audience deaf? Has there been an audience at all? Well... 0 dislikes? God bless! Thanks for posting, really cool version, they are such an awesome band, and so criminally underrated!
Saw these guys during this tour in Cleveland, Ohio. Goldilox was the last song, if memory serves, and Doug just turned the mic towards the audience and we all sang the entire song. Magic night.
Me too! Especially the video where the audience sings the whole song. What band has that kind of loyal fans but Kings X.? Makes me mad those “in charge” never really gave these giants of talent a chance.
@@Mouser21 Normally, I'd agree with you. But I've gotta tell you Patricia, I kinda dig having them as the coolest secret in the world that only certain people like us get to enjoy. 😉
Ryan de Ham I’ve been loving them since out of a silent planet came out years ago. I’ve seen them and met them a few times. Absolutely the most underrated, talented band I’ve ever heard. I’m very happy that Doug is thriving, Ty and Jerry as well. I feel sorry for anyone who hasn’t had a kings x musical experience.♥️👏🏼
GenX anthem right here. Or at least for the guys who were young in the 90's...we all had at least one "Goldilox" who got away because we were too chickenshit😂
Oh you know, just hanging out at Splashtown at the wave pool and seeing freaking Kings X playing next to you. Surreal. I also love how Ty is fully embracing the suburb dad garage band aesthetic here.
This song always makes me so sad because the hottest girls are NEVER as interesting or cool as we imagine them to be. Not only that, but they are never impressed by men who are shy yet truly romantic, like the narrator. When I was young, this song gave me hope because I really believed "goldilox" WOULD like to know MY name. But now I know that just isn't the case. Those girls have no real substance. Absolute beauty, like absolute power, corrupts absolutely.
Golgotha_Mythos69 I agree 99%. I married a girl who was very 'ordinary' on the surface. I'm a shy introvert (on the surface). 25 years later, we have so much more than the plastic relationships out there. Date and marry for sustance. F*** the media, the peer pressure, the images. They will steer you down the wrong path. peace.
Golgotha_Mythos69 The words you write are true in many cases. However, women do exist that have inner beauty parallel to their exterior beauty. Like you, this song touched me at a young age and gave me hope that my "Goldilox" would like to know my name. My prayers were answered, and I met the most beautiful woman my eyes had ever seen! We have been married over ten years now, and she is more beautiful now than ever, and the beauty of her heart and soul is equivalent to her physical beauty. Her absolute beauty shines through and through!
AccuracySpeaks That's nice to hear. I DO believe there are women out there who are as beautiful on the inside, if not more so. I just think the vast majority relate to their looks like a spoiled rich kid relates to wealth. It is pure folly for creative men to think they can win over any girl simply by "being different", when most of them don't even like "different", they like alpha males with money. What's really ironic about this song is that Doug Pinick is gay. But maybe one of the other dudes wrote it. Some rare women ARE sick of typical guys and see shy, sensitive, romantic men as "a breath of fresh air". Or at least, they claim as much. More often than not, biology and natural selection tell a different story.
Dear gentlemen of this thread. I'm one of those women. The good ones, and I have been alone nearly 10 years. I lost most friends because I moved back in with my ex-husband of 24 years, because he was diagnosed terminally ill. Not only did he NOT die within the time frame they gave him, but he's got more good days than bad, and the end is no longer in the near future. Love truly can move mountains, and in my opinion is THE reason we're here. To love and help one another. He was diagnosed with MS in 1988, diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS in 2001, had double leg amputation in September of this year, and they found cancer in the left leg when they sent one to pathology. I'm certain that the cancer has matasticised, but we take it one day at a time. Peace, love and good vibes to you! ✌🏼❤
@sowlschooled Wow,thanx for the info.Jerry does a flawless job on the drums on this song.Beside's the killer sound he has,I love the offbeat's on the snare.I requested this song on the radio couple month's ago.The DJ stated he new the band but did not know the actual song,he would look it up and try to get it on.Waited 1.5 hrs. never played it.I was along way from home working and really wanted too hear the song.
Yeah man! I was fortunate to see them at a small bar it wasn't even a club in Cleveland back in 88'. They opened up for Hurricane and rocked the house so hard that everybody began to talk about and talked to King's X (being the cool dudes they were) that nobody even paid attention to Hurricane.
@zmaakingsxxhosheygee This song is so special to me.Do not mean any disrespect to Dug or Kings X.I just wonder alot of times about songs, I love and to hear the stories of inspiration.I totally even regret leaving a pointless comment like that. There biz is there biz.Man the drums are pounding in this version
Yeah I seriously miss that at shows now. I mean great, let the crowd sing one round but I would love to hear him finish it out at least. I mean I fell in love with it hearing him sing it, not me. To be fair though it's Ty's song and Dug always hated the way he sounded singing it, thinking he didn't do it justice. I'm sure it's a relief for him these days.
I met their Manager while working a Sammy Hagar concert back in 96?? Jay Phoebus..still have his card somewhere. I was in a band that "almost' made it back around that time....memories.
why do i feel like there was probably 45 people there, and most of them were milling around? such a shame. this song should have been huge, and propelled them into the upper echelon of the times.
GOD JERRYS DRUMS !!!! I CANT EVEN IMAGINE HOW GREAT THIS MUSTVE BEEN LIVE, GOOSE BUMPS WITH THAT FEELING OF WANTING TO CRY BECAUSE THE MUSIC MAKES ME FEEL SO FUCKING GOOD. BETTER THAN SEX(IM SERIOUS) BETTER THAN ANY DRUG.ONLY THING BETTER IS THE SMILE ON MY 4 YEAR OLDS FACE WHEN I HEAR THE PITTER PATTER OF HER FEET WHEN SHE GETS UP IN THE MORNING.
@DARRINCONNOR1 There's also the chance he wrote it about a female before he "came out". Or maybe Ty wrote it about something in his life? Regardless it speaks to a lot of people I think.
@@spanqueluv9er they moved here but they are not from here. Don’t live here anymore. they practiced next to us on Sterrett st. I’m not here to argue “guy” lol
Seriously great. It helps alot to be in the same tunings but there is alot going on chord wise arpeggiated not easy pick or finger work in the right hand or I aint got it yet thats prolly what it is.. that and I didnt write it .. Drop D messing with the head. Have enough time knowing theory in standard and then just start dropping strangs to throw me off the trail .. Had to tune too the recording to get a clue. Still cant name the chords now since the D is dropped. Guitarded
Alice in Chains had already become successful with a White frontman before he was replaced by the black dude upon his death, else , this would have been their Fate as well.
IT REALLY SUCKS FOR ME, FOR YEARS LISTENEING TO THIS SONG WONDERING WHO HE COULDVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT WHEN DUG WROTE THIS,TURNS OUT GOOD CHANCE IT WAS ABOUT A MALE. (I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AGAINST GAY PEOPLE)
If you don't like Kings X, we just can't be friends.
Same! 🤙🏼❤🎶
Attached dude right!!
Then we're friends. 🤘🏼
I’m your friend 🥹
I hear you, bro!!
I've been listening to music we're almost 65 years! This band is truly exceptional!
^*we’re?🤷♂️
King's X is your favorite bands favorite band.
I dig the crowd participation thing but it's always nice to hear the band sing "Goldilox."
iluvj50 They got the crowd singing cigarettes now. It sucks being in a crowd of people who can't sing at all trying to sing like Dug. It's the worst.
I agree the fans destroy Goldilox
but Ty told me they love it-
I guess the band gets sick of hearing good singing
from their own selves 🙂
Amen! Had to search high and low for this one
Phenomenal musicianship. Been a fan of Dug, Ty and Jerry since '91.
I just love this band ... There is something special about them I cannot explain . They are honest , open and sing from the heart . PK
Wow, these guys were so young here. I love this band. Definitely in my top 5 bands.
Doug was around 50. :P
Not so young really, they were at least 10 years older than many other bands who broke in the 90's. Dug is over 70 now and the other guys arent too far behind.
This is one awesome live performance. Great guitar . I love this band . Hard to believe that I was listening to them almost 30 years ago
I’ll never get tired of them
Love this band so much
Such a beautiful voice and one of the most underrated bands in the USA
Such incredible talent
🙏

Who underrated them? Their fans?
Wooow. Such a great band and one of the best songs ever.
My most beloved band.
My favorite Kings X song!
I love this video so raw and real..
Hell yes 23 dollars worth of stage clothing combined...love it
This song still brings tears to my eyes!!

We all have had a few Goldiloxes in our day.
The most beautiful voice I’ve ever heard
My best friend sent me a Kings X cassette when I was in Japan.
This is a beautiful song and Kings X are an unfortunate rock n roll secret.
When people say King's X is underrated, they're not wrong!
They are such a underrated Band!
Love them since their first album back in 1988, still love 'em!
Thanx for sharing!
They are rated exactly where they belong.
Just stunning
Same way I felt first time this song penetrated my 17 yr old ears when it first came out!!!!!!!!!!
Kings X = the wonderful
Amazing Band. 3 of the most talented Musician's on the planet and they're all in one band, simply amazing.
aw such a good song... still a favourite...can't get it out my head now ;)
Love this tune! Love these guys!!!
Simply fabulous.
Golden pipes... That dude sings his bunky off!
This band is a revelation. So glad to have discovered it. Thank you King's
Love this band !!!!!!
One of the best bands I've ever seen live! The best part of their shows are the random badass solos by Ty tabor between songs

I beg to differ just a little, and it is truly my own opinion, but swap Zeppelin and King's X. To me, they are that great.
The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Kings X. Yeah, In that order.
Tone Ty
Before Ty let his hair down. When Doug had hair.
No, it's really after Ty cut his hair short. 😛
It’s like Radiohead….i didn’t get it at first….but I’m coming around….
