    I just got stoned, cracked my coconut finally, that got bought last week. Ate half of it along with several no bake chocolate and oatmeal cookies and OMG coconut is great when your sober but when your high it's like handed to you from God himself. It was so good.

    Before you buy any one shake it to be sure it has water inside otherwise it's very old and destroyed.
    Less water more old

    This is the best way I've seen so far. When I tried this method it did't come out as easy as hers, but it came out a lot easier than the way I was doing it before. Maybe it depends on type of coconut as well.

    I find your soaking method works! I tried it this morning and the coconut cracked open within minutes! Wonderful. I can have fresh coconut milk throughout the year! Make sure that tap the mature coconut on the opposite side of the coconut eyes as the area around the eyes are harder while the bottom part of the coconut is softer.

    Thank you for this delightful lesson! We gave up on opening coconuts, when the hammer we were hitting the back of our knife with, caused the knife blade to shatter, loosing pieces of knife blade inside the coconut somewhere. Then trying to pry it open from the crack the knife made, painfully pinched my fingers! (OUCH!!) .... But I just tried your technique from this video, and it works perfectly, and so EASY! Exactly as you show.

    You're not going to believe this. I've had a coconut in my refrigerator for two 3 months and I live in Washington State where there are no coconuts. I thought I would try it being a vegan. Well I took it out of the fridge and found your Channel, opened it like you said, but the meat is too hard to get out because I think it's too cold. I'm warming it up in a bowl of warm water. I cannot believe how good the juice is! And it smells delicious! Thank you as this was my first time and it opened just like you said it would. I don't have the right kind of knife so I'll just wait until it's easier to get the meat out. Thank you thank you thank you! Next year I will buy more. I think Markus rothkranz has an ice cream coconut video.

    This is the best way to get the meat BUT not the water. For the water you can insert a straw! there are 3 holes on one side of the top of the coconut and you tap all 3 hole and one will be more squishy that the other 2, YOU then tap that with a knife to insert a straw. Thanks!

      Sim0nella I found a quicker, easier, and safer way to open a young coconut. Just watched Shark Tank and I was blown away by this product this guy introduced. It's called CocoJack. It's the best tool ever to open a coconut. Check it out on Amazon. They have only five star ratings. This product is the real deal and you will open your coconut in 3 seconds without a knife. I kid you not. He also has a tool to take ALL the meat out with one swoop. Mark Cuban invested and he was smart to do so. This is not an endorsement. I just love the product. It works folks!! Don't lose a finger.

    Yep! That's the way. You're basically creating a stress fracture around the coconut when you strike the weak points. You didn't even have to strike it that hard either. Love the tip about the linoleum knife. We have one of those Thai handheld coconut graters, but the linoleum knife looks like it can get the meat out faster.

    We Tamils always use this method to open and remove the meat, I laughed when seeing the coconut youtube videos. Why they are using hammer, screwdriver, oven, etc ? We didn't use glove. The tender coconut water and its meat is yummy.

    That was amazing! I lived in Florida and will be moving back in July. I will be buying 8 coconut trees. I have never crack one open without making a big mess and never got the meat out. Thank you Vijaya!! Now I am really excited to try this method. 😃

    Two tutorials and neither tell viewers to take a sharp pointy knife and core out the soft third eye and drain the coconut milk. Another tip not mentioned , put coconut in freexer overnight, let it defrost {shell may already be cracked , then open ,i just cradle it in hands and give it a bounce against a rock . The freezing make the meat expand , contracts as it warms and easily separates from the shell. For those with fireplace or wood burning stove coconut shells burn great and very hot .

      Sir, opening third eye of coconut is not used bcoz in Hindus,when person is dead n his last rites r performed then this method is used to quench thirst of the dead. Then he/she is creamated.Hence those who khow avoid this.

    Seems super dangerous. I was waiting for her to hit her thumb with that cleaver. Couldn't watch. Yikes!

    • @1234pokemonfreak
      @1234pokemonfreak 6 лет назад +4

      if you look closely, you can see she used the back of the cleaver. So it's perfectly safe! (even if she did hit her thumb, it'd hurt, but wouidn't cause injury) :)

    • @SamusLovesMilk
      @SamusLovesMilk 6 лет назад +2

      Well, like you could see, she hit it with the back-side of the cleaver. So if she would've slipped, it wouldn't cut her, just bruise her.

      +VR4OZ as i already replied....there is more than one definition of "meat". in this case the
      definition of "meat - the edible portion of a plant rather than its husk
      or shell" is used when describing a coconut so even something like a
      brazil nut, the edible part inside is the meat as opposed to its
      inedible shell.
