Excellent review ! Mitsubishi Triton / L200 has a very good sense of a low-speed maneuvering and when reversing and turning radius ! Very good seating position and angle of the exterior mirrors! Highly durable materials, comfortable seats in the cab! No creaking sounds at all in the cabin as well as at higher mileage ! The car is moving well and acceleration from 0-100km / h is much better than the technical parameters show ! At -24 C starts engine from the first rev ! Very good quality !
It's always interesting to note that reviews never mention build strength. C rail vs D rail, thinkness of steel in tub etc. I suppose that doesn't matter to them, they're just interested in what the cars can do in one day. As a consumer I would like to know more of what I can expect 10 years down the track. Do I still have a ute or piece of crap.
i have the early rg colorado 2012 90k on the clock 70% of its life has been pulling 3000kg or more ive had heaps of rangers tritons and hiluxs and Prados on my tri axle trailer and my girl has always had more than enough power and safety at 100kmh ive even pulled land cruisers 20km up loose sand beaches i used to be a hilux man now i would not have one if you give it to me ill be updating soon to a new colorado
Exactly. This what all these tards don't comprehend. I cringe every time I hear praise for the Ranger and Colorado. Let's see them make it to 100k km without any issues.
Rangers biggest problem is that the transmission overheats and warps when overworked in sand or offroad while towing, A replacement costs over $8000.00
All my thoughts and opinions Value for money = triton unbreakable = hilux/dmax towing = ranger/bt50 best transmission = amarok auto quickest 0-100 = triton auto best on fuel = triton manual
The Isuzu has the most reliable engine out of the entire bunch I don't give a damn what anyone says. It's not all about power. I want to see a Ranger outlast a D-max. 😂
Mike F the The New Amarok V6 can tow up to 3.5 tons the Old one could tow up to 3.2 tons. the New Amarok V6 goes from 0-100 in 7.9 sec. It can carry up to 1 ton in the bed. and it has Powerboat oder Overboost as some call it 160kw to 180kw. All numbers are metric. this is how we get it in Europe
These “experts” all seem to forget that when you are towing you should moderate your speed appropriately. 90-100kph is plenty towing 1.5 ton. If you can hold speed up a long hill climb it’s a good un. 380Nm in the Isuzu for example is plenty with a good driver. These utes are being made too powerful for weekend warriors with nothing but RUclips experience. Accidents waiting to happen. 15 years ago people thought the hilux 3.0d with 343Nm was a good towing platform, here’s a hint, it still is. If you want to tow 3.5T get an appropriately sized truck a Ute, whilst legal, is not a safe option for such large trailers.
I own the new Navara NP300, everything they said about it is true. But if you dont plan to tow 3.5 don't buy it. But if you're talking long distance driving it's is by far the most smooth ride you'll ever get because of the tray suspension while towing a 2.5 camper trailer. Very small road noise and no tray bounce. I've driven a ranger and Colorado from Newcastle to Brisbane (work vehicles) and Navara wins in you being comfortable for long drives and fuel.
This happens time and time again, the Mitsi performs way better than expected and gets little to no glory for it. Why are the expectations on Mitsubishi always lower when they consistently perform great? The Triton did as well as and in some cases better than the other utes there, not to mention that it's between $10k-$15k cheaper than the competition.
ayreon213 Got MN triton for three years without any issue so far. done 2 inch heavy duty lift up and increased another extra 150 kg payload. Happy with that.
Would have loved to see a "real world" fuel consumption test with these utes while carrying the 800kg and when towing. My gut feeling is that the bigger displacement engines would outdo the smaller ones. Coming from a bloke who constantly carries 500kg of crap and laughs at the "rated" consumption figures.
Just because the Navara had rear coils doesn't mean it shouldn't cope. The now departed Defender was all coils and that had a higher maximum train weight than any of them.
So true 7000kg train weight for a 130 giving it 1 ton payload and the ablity to tow 3.5 tones at thr same time which none of them can match and with only 120bhp maximum over its life from the factory. You may never manage to stop it though if you do that.
I just brought a mitzi couldn't be more happy.. Obviously not the tough truck of the segment but for 15 g less then everyone els I don't care. Have had a lot of mates with the mk models and they are abused rigs never had an issue.. My ammorock was rubbish.. Beautiful car to drive good on fuel but constantly in the shop
Had my Triton Exceed for a couple of months now, really happy with it and similar to you Chris, I just don't see how anyone could justify the $15,000 extra you need to spend to get into the others. Just a shame the Triton is the 'ugly duckling' of the lot, love the look of the Navara and wanted the Navara to be everything I hoped it would be, but it just wasn't that great.
@@theowenssailingdiary5239 Had it from brand new 2013 never an issue so far been dragging a dual axel trailer around loaded still never missing a beat only issue is air conditioning playing up a bit. @@matt08sydney same year as m ine-mine has towed an excavator all its life... 330000.. So no complaints. Keep eye on you water levels and white smoke at startup. If you are using water and there are no leaks it's possibly EGR.. Ididnt even get a warning light. Temp dropped, meaning the entire coolant was dumped inti the manifold via the egr. Not great. Great cars..
If your being fair dinkum and carrying heavy loads like this all the time you would set the vehicle up accordingly like a $300 airbag kit in the navs coils gives you the adjustability to have the best of both worlds and would place it up around the top of the heap. Leaf springs belong on a horse and cart.
From that I'll take the 50 thanks ,higher payload and towing capacity along with that big 3.2 engine and a better front end , good honest hard working pickup.
It's interesting to see smallish trucks being sold around the world. Of all trucks shown here the only one being sold in the U.S. is the Colorado as either a Chevrolet Colorado\GMC Canyon. The Hi-Lux isn't sold here, we have the Toyota Tacoma which isn't a rebadged Hi-Lux, it's a different model (bigger). We don't even have the Ford Ranger, Ford stopped selling here a few years ago. I'm hoping to see the mid sized truck market grow in the U.S. Actually I'd like to see small trucks make their way back to the U.S. market, kinda want I truck that I could afford. Not liking the idea of spending $35,000+ for a well equipped 4x4 truck. The Ram 700\Fiat Strada is something I'm very interested is seeing sold here in the U.S.
The Honda's not available in the Australian market, but the Amarok was the 8th most popular ute in Australia in 2015. It does have a lower payload and towing capacity though than the ones tested, so guessing that's why.
D-max will outlast the disposable Ranger that's for hell sure. I haven't heard one negative story about a D-max break down. Ranger on the other hand. Not so much.
Ford is the first world car of course it better but the Mitsubishi also the first Japanese manufacturing car in Japan and Mitsubishi Jeep is the Japanese military army vehicle during world war two and Mitsubishi also very best track record in rally art Dakar championship both car and Pajero 4wd since 1940 so Mitsubishi is the winner king champion amongst others rivals.

A friend has bought a Z71 only for it to spend at least one day a week at the Holden dealer being fixed. The latest is a rear window motor failure, went down but won't go up! How about these vehicles get tested to the point of breaking, much like a crash test. Then give them reliability stars, based on the breakage test, owner feedback and real world results. Only then should the best be tested like this. Make the manufacturers improve their vehicles, their dealer network and make them responsible for their $55k product. Why don't all of these so called motoring experts lobby the government for lemon laws?

No I wouldn't argue about the price but christ theyre as ugly as sin IMO... Im sure theyre a good truck for the money.
