Glad to hear some M54 stuff is coming. I know you have a plan, but you might consider finding an e39 touring with bad head gasket and swapping in an engine and then selling it. E39 tourings are pretty popular. Doing a manual swap on a touring and selling it is also a big win. You'd get a lot of views.

You can actually do more than the dealership with those tools. For example you can retrofit items that there is no retrofit for or change the vin on control units (Tool32. Exe) . The dealership tools are focused on working on the entire car at one time. The downside is you can easily mess things up.
When you re-program the ECU to the latest software with ISTA/P do you need to buy/download the latest sp-daten files? Or does the program already have the latest software (per the ISTA version) to program the car with? Thank you /John

Hi, thanks for the vid...lot of info...now i might have a similar idrive problem i heard you mention...My vehicle (E61) was parked for sometime (2 months) which caused battery to drain. My idrive keeps rebooting and will not come on even after buying a brand new battery for the car...any help/advise here?
While doing a compression test on 2015 328ixdrive n26 the first piston It would not hold but 75psi. I could hear the air coming out from the turbo turbine, where it receives air from the filter.
I did a compression test on each one of the pistons but this is the only one I had a problem with. So then I did a down leak test and I could hear the air coming out of the turbo turbine, where it receives air from the filter. All the other pistons were OK. Can somebody please help answer the question problem that I have?

Glad you're back to posting. I've been fiending. Nathan, question; what is your opinion on eBay suspension parts? The factory stuff on my e38 is roached after 220k miles and 18 years. I'm thinking cheap ebay stuff will do, but will it? Will my wheels fall off with cheap eBay stuff? What's your experience if any with ebay suspension parts?
the kits off ebay work good for me, the sway bar links can be cheap made though

You should of hooked up a battery tender. Would have avoided the battery dying. 15-20$ at Walmart would of saved you some time.
James Zorb no mate a battery tender cannot be used when programming you need a voltage STABILISER you best know what your talking about before coming as if you know

Hi Nathan, Hi BMW E60 525i with ZF6HP19 gives a jerk during stopping. Like from shifting from 2nd to 1st gear. I have put new total 5 seals and adaptor between valve body and transmission. Put new oil .....still no difference!

Mine also has a jerk I think it’s a shift solenoid.

I have e38 change all 4 sensors, MAF, spark plugs, both camshaft position sensor, timing chain tensioner still knocking coming from driver side. I am getting only one error Camshaft position sensor bank2, reset with INPA and DIS, but the same error message keep coming back! Any help? Thanks
