Glad everything went well. No one hurt at SFO
Amazing job Kevin with this coverage. So glad everything worked out for the plane safely coming to LAX!
What great coverage, Kevin. Last minute, breaking news, and you were prepared. Glad the flight landed safely.
Another great AVL on the fly at LAX
Incredible video coverage! Great professional video and audio!
I'm so happy you did a show on the fly as you were there to witness this...I saw it live and thanks for the video so I can show my mum and dad (big plane spotters).
So much better than NBC, FOX and others.
💯 yes but it's a low bar.
Much better coverage. Than Fox, N B C and ABC. Great coverage guys. Keep it up. Love the channel
@@davidfoster2613 I don't think this channel filmed it.
@@davidfoster2613 what about C N N
@@bobboberson2024 they did
Great coverage as always, Kevin!! Thank goodness you were close by. I'm glad everything was in place for the flight's arrival at LAX. Btw, you looked fine on camera!! 👍👍
Everyone did such a great job; so glad Tater Tot too was in the tower! TY Kevin.
Much Better Than The News Media with $20,000+ camera it shows it's the person not the camera.
This. Video is another example of why Kevin and AVL are the best anywhere.👍🏾👍🏾
totally agree! what a well executed piece of video!
Gotta say, even with a wheel missing, the UA 777-200ER is a beautiful bird.
Not really a -200ER but rather what United called A 777-222 B-market airplane, Only Delta ever had true -200ER's
American As well
we mechanics don't call them "birds" that's lame.
@@justing42 what do you call them?
All Boeing birds are beautiful, Boeing never makes ugly airplanes
Great job Kevin. Thanks for telling the whole story unaltered. Great love man!!❤❤❤
Great coverage!!! Thank God everyone on the flight is ok!
Great coverage 👍
Good job Kevin!
Hi Kevin, that was amazing coverage as always and it does show how skilled these Pilots are to handle any given situation like this. Xx
What a superb coverage and superb job as always Kevin, hopefully we will see you again soon.
The farmers commercial is playing in my head at the moment....
Wow, that's scary, the tire fall on the parking lot, damage to the fence and car. Hope they are okay.
Great job kevin 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This happened twice during my 26 years of working at Anchorage Int’l Airport. Both were 747s with wheel bearing failure.
The danger is those on the ground. It’s not a big deal for the plane to be missing a wheel.
I recovered one of those 747 wheels. They are darn heavy and it took 3 or 4 of us to load it in to a pickup truck.
Martin Wheel failure, nut and lock nut still there wheel came apart at the hub !!!
Your video was just on the CBS morning show and yes, your watermark was on the videos they showed!😊
This why we watch! Great job 👏
Glad that United Airlines 777 landed safely with wheel loss. At least everyone is safe is the main thing.
Kevin, thank you for stopping what you were in the middle of doing to bring this to viewers. Awesome job.
Thanks Kevin
I’ve seen inspectors sign work off sight unseen. It’s terrible. And this is embarrassing.
Really great shots of this, also really nice that it's being filmed by someone who is knowledgeable and not someone screaming that the everyone's gonna die and it's the end of the world lmao
7:36 no, it's the inner left hand side. Missed that 50/50 XD
I'm glad we all got to see a happy story!
Thank you, Kevin - your news instincts kicked in perfectly yesterday for another great stream! Perfect coverage of the landing ~
Wow you have the clearest ATC recordings I have ever heard. Nice job. 😎👍
Fantastic job Kevin.
Really proud of you, Kevin. What an amazing job you did for your community here on AVL. So glad it all ended safely. Impressed with everyone's professionalism.
Great video Kevin
Good job Kevin 💯👏👏👏✈️
Saw the interview with you Kevin it was amazing best part of their video great job filming this
Were the passengers immediately informed as soon as the pilots discovered tire loss?
Hey amazing footage by the way fox 2 used your video and took the ALV name of and added another person's voice over it
That must have been scary for the passengers, but we’re glad no one got hurt.
Kevin, excellent coverage, ATC and camera work!!! I'm glad no one was injured at SFO and the skilled pilots landing at LAX! 🙏🏽👏🏽
The plane landed safely and nobody was hurt. Everybody gets to go home tonight. That's a good thing!
Second United flight with wheel issues this week, both originating from SFO, both international flights, both doing emergency landings.
Can't wait for the comments on Boeing, but I'd be willing to bet this is more of a maintenance issue than an aircraft issue. But, you know so many will make an unwarranted comment.
I'm glad it landed with no issue. I'm sure the airline is working tirelessly to resolve the issue.
Авиакомпании подадут максимум в суд на боинг. Они не разработчики и производители.
I saw it Live taking off in SFO at the very moment when the wheel 🛞 fell down! There was a streamer broadcasting live from SFO! Many people saw it!
Including me. Was in shock. 😮😮😮😮
@@lisawesley7132 yes it was
Felt like I was watching a nationally syndicated news feed! Well done Kevin per the usual for Airline Videos Live!!
Great coverage and a good view of the missing tire
Hats off to pilot.
AWESOME COVERAGE!!!!!!! Thank you.
that 256lb wheel damaged at least 6 cars
United has been taking a by emergencies remember the fire the other day on a United flight?
Great coverage ✈️💪 tank God everyone is safe
United Airlines has been having a rotten week !!! 😱Engine fire, rudder problems, wheels falling off!!! Unreal !!! 🥺😕
Slid off the runway today too.
Glad the pilots got the plane down safely. Kudos to the pilots! That being said, I've always found landing gear related emergency landings quite fascinating.
How's it going guys just tuned in from NZ Gee those pilots are incredibly talented people plus the aircraft engineers aswell fantastic people
Amazing that Cali Planes in SFO caught the moment in his broadcast!
Totally Agree. Saw it live on Cali Planes. 💯💯👍👍
Great job Kevin. As usual. I know United is trying to upgrade their fleet....but a lot of these planes are really old that United continues to use. I am not surprised this has happened. A lot of these planes are solid even if old. But this a concern. Thank God only a tire.
Pilots did great job landing safely: keep up the good work bless :
GR8T video. I never tire of seeing these tire videos. Just saying. United maintenance motto: "Uniting you with your maker"....
Was the trust reverser from the LH Engine also damaged? Looks like the brake unit is still in place.
Great job Kevin!
wow great job by the captain to land and everyone be safe unbelievable that no one was injured when the tyre fell off
How was this video recorded?
does it really need all the wheells ? or was this a precaution to check the others ?
Amazes me that these reporters don’t know the difference between a tire and a wheel!
Wow
Dang.
We are just about to fly to LAX on a triple 7, so it’s good to see that they can land okay with a wheel missing! ✈️🍾❤️
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I have good questions. Everyone on the plane and on the ground were ok the priority. So for the passengers and crew united operations had to implement a plan after safely landed at LAX, new crew new plane (assuming it was taken out of service) what about the passengers and cargo
Great coverage, thanks! Looks like all the airline DEI hires are working out well.
This wasn't even an issue. 5 tires were good to go.
Hace poco un aerobus A320 o A321de LATAM aterrizó también con una rueda menos del tren principal. Pasando a otra cosa, ésta semana le han pasado de todo a la empresa y aerolínea UNITED con sus aviones.
Why did they need a tow?
You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel!
oh my!
Correct me if I'm wrong, aren't tires supposed to be changed every 50 flights?
@@FishingPlanetMobile64 Thanks for the info!
Do you know if the Cabin Crew prepared the cabin for a possible evacuation?
Thank God all ended well, and nothing more serious.
You are the best
Action for first responders when they are all just sitting on their phone lol
Looks like bolts were still on landing gear wheel hub and somehow the rim broke off. May be a rim defect or damage that caused it to break off. Thankfully no one was injured.
I wonder if and how the antiskid system handled this since it would have sensed one wheel was not turning .... probably switched off i guess .....
well done for the safety landing god bless all
Beautiful avion 777 .... Every
I SAW THE CARS THE WHEEL LANDED ON FROM PHOTO PERSPECTIVE IT APPEARED MAINLY. HOOD AND WINDSHEILD DAMAGE BUT FAIR TO SAY THEY WOULD BE. WRITEOFFS GIVEN IMPACT FORCE ETC ETC. MASSIVE IMPACT FORCE
I'm sure the FAA has already requested the maintenance logs as the most likely culprit would be that the plane had its tires replaced recently which I suspect would involved removing all the wheels and replacing them with a different set with new tires. I suppose they could have replaced the tires on the wheels that were on the plane but that would seemingly take a lot more time and downtime is frowned upon. Landing with one of 6 wheels missing on the left side landing gear should not, in itself, by cause for too much concern, but if someone failed to install one wheel properly there is the chance that other wheels might also come off. Safe to say this particular plane will be grounded for a while.
The wheel hub fractured. The retaining nut was still installed, but the tyre came off. No maintenance error. Could be a wheel hub manufacturing issue.... or someone did an awfully heavy landing recently 😆
@@ImperrfectStranger Heavy landing would be surprising for an inboard wheel, but not out of the question. An outboard wheel would be more likely -- a hard flat landing would distribute the force fairly equally, but if one wing was lower the outboard wheels would take the brunt of the force.
Hello Kevin, how life is going ? Standing up all day long ! How do you manage ? Are you sure you do not want a comfortable seat ? The best. Nicolas from Paris
At 7:45 into video, what appears to be a "remove before flight" flag appears to be shown in the left main gear wheel well. Think it should not be there! ®
Why shouldn’t it be there? That’s proper protocol for a tow.
WOW this is incredible footage. This is way better than the news lol am sharing this with my reginal Caribbean aviation buddies :) !!!
🎶 The Wheels on the Boeing go Boing Boing Boing!! 🤪
Gee, you news people really know how to excite your viewers.... never saw a plane fly before....wow,,,award winning exclusive footage ?
Who does the maintenance on this plane?
It's unlikely to be a maintenance issue. The wheel hub fractured, so possibly a manufacturing fault. The wheel hub retaining nut was still attached to the axle.
-Positive climb.
-Gear up?
Good this is well documented. Imagine having to explain this to the car insurance company.
3:30 R2, that stabilizer's broken loose again. See if you can't lock it down.
Way to go Kevin!
No spiken No escribo . Muy poco ingles. Good is videos they. Thanks
