A pelican landed on the south runways of LAX. For the next hour LAX ops chased and tried to capture the elusive pelican we named Paulie. One of the most interesting hours we ever filmed.

Pelicans are huge, one of the biggest birds in the world next to, like, swans and condors. Up to a 10 foot wingspan.
I recently saw a white pelican flying above a park near me, and thought it was some kind of drone or small plane!

There’s been a surge of sick pelicans lately up and down the CA coast. Local news channels have been reporting on it, they don’t know what’s causing it, but many are getting sick and some are even dying. Hopefully this one isn’t sick too!
Yes! I heard about that on local news. Polly seems healthy, and I am hoping they took good care of her, especially with so many getting sick.
