This video will show you how you can make your own amazing fauxsaics. It looks so detailed and complicated but I assure you it is not beyond the capabilities of the average, capable, Procreate user.

I have made a brush pack which contains all of the brushes that I've used in this tute, but you can definitely complete your own Fauxsaic without purchasing it.
The Brush pack contains the Tile Cutter Brush, the Grout brush, the Cloudy Texture Brush, 12 different Marble, Granite and Concrete texture brushes plus a whole lot of different Instant Fauxsaic Brushes like hexagonal tile, arches, Moroccan tile, bathroom tile, Art Deco tile and lots more.
That is such a GENIUS way to remove the background in photos! That absolutely beats using the selection or eraser tools!
Thanks! I'm a mosaic artist doing murals! This takes me into a whole new world. You are amazing.
Thank you for the instructions to your actions on the screen. Extremely helpful to know the reason you are doing something, and a verbal description on how to do it. Thanks!
You are so amazing!! I hope someday you make more videos, your genius is just so fun to watch!
Wow! Just WOW! I’m new to iPad Pro, Apple pencil and Procreate...and honestly I’m just blown away by it all...I’ve absolutely found my new ‘happy place’! And this tutorial just leaves me in awe...brilliance! Utter brilliance! I’ll be purchasing this pack for sure...and thank you for such a great tutorial Abbie Nurse...I can’t wait to see what amazing creations I can produce with my new creative toys!
Just bought your pack and I’m so glad you included this tutorial b/c When the brushes didn’t look like the pictures in the ad for the pack, I was really disappointed. But after watching your tutorial I’m hopeful I can do it, with practice! I do wish you’d show how to use some of the other brushes in the pack though and Please show how you made the cool gold metallic/foil looking tiles in the example pictures??? Thank you so much! You’re brilliant!
HiLara
For the gold foil, I used a gold foil image and used it as a clipping mask above the lettering. Then added shadows and highlights the same way as I did in this tutorial.
I bought your brushes for this set the minute it hit my email! I was just looking a couple of days ago in Creative Market, and found a set of mosaic brushes that were only available in Illustrator. I was crushed! When I opened my email box this morning and found yours, I did a happy dance (well, figuratively speaking!)! Thank you, as always, for being a Procreate Genius, who has a passion for teaching and a heart for sharing! You're the best!
So cool - beautiful result, but this was way too fast. Is there a real time version of this tut? I prefer the tuts talking you through the process, but this was a terrific overview! I am sold!
Yeah, my jaw dropped several times...so nicely done 👏
Thanks for the great tutorial. I wish that there was audio so that you could explain why you did some of those steps. Like why do you flatten things? And so much more.
I need a transcript of all the instructions she puts on the screen lol that would help me so much! Awesome video and teacher thank you!
this is amazing, and you even provided a link to the brush pack! thank you so much :)
You are a Procreate genius! Thank you so much for your tutorials Abbie! I’m really having fun and learning so much from your videos. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
This is a really good tutorial!! Very simple and easy to follow.
Love your tutorials.
You’ve now done mosaic, embroidery and knitting - how about some beading with delica bead, seed beads and Swarowski stones
I'm so glad I found your page!!!😁😁😁😁😁😊😀😀😀😀🙏🙏🙏👌👌 another fantastic tutorial!!
Great tutorial! Many thanks! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for this tutorial! I made a piece that I’m very proud of using it :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to create this tutorial! And since I’m a little lazy, I’ll go ahead and purchase your brush pack instead of trying to make the brushes myself 😊
Absolutely amazing. I love your teaching technique.
You are a genius! This is so great! Thank you so much!
Abbie, You are amazing- as is your work! imagination abounds!
Brilliant, and your instructions are so clear.
Thank you!
I’m not sure I will find a use for this but I am amazed at your work. I always learn from your videos. Thank you.
This is incredible! I learned so much, especially just from the natural shadow tips + the shoes at the end!
Abbie, you really know how your Procreate. You have the coolest ideas. Thank you for sharing.
Great tutorial! I love the step by step instruction. Thank you.
And I love your shoes too!!
Just found this channel.
Am absolutely in love with it. So useful.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🙌🏻
I wish I Could “like” it more than once. Thanks a lot...
Wow, you are so good!! I just got procreate and I'm trying to learn as I go. I hope someday I can be comfortable trying this!
I got lost several times, and despite replaying the video endless times, I still end up with a mess. The greatest difficulty is seeing which layer you are working on and the screen shots of your layer panels are not really detailed enough (for me). It would be of immense help to have a list of exact instructions. But thanks, awesome work.
I agree with you in the minute 4:18 even thought I put the video jn in the lowest velocity you can get to understand what she did
As always, an amazing tutorial! Thank you, Abbie!
“Smurf Blue and Bile Orange”! 🤣🤣
Your ideas always are amazing! I really love your artwork! 😍
Amazing Abby, i'm in awe of your talent!
Really beautiful work. But I gave up trying to follow about a 1/4 way in - just too many steps, using features that are unfamiliar to me, all happening way too fast. You'd better be a master of this program if you want to follow this wizardess!
I love your stuff, but I just didn't understand the last bit. Is there any way you can add a 1,2,3 list. The layer part, colorburn and hiding😱
WOW!!! Impressive & the end result is damn realistic!!! 😍❤️🔥
Very interesting approach! Thanks a lot :) Ok...rather complex but it's also true that is not possible to do all things always using just few steps...
You have lot of cool ideas! Bravissima! (in Italian)
Awesome as usual Abby!
Thanks for your tutorial. I might try to replicate it later, i'm a beginner but it might be a nice way to familiarize me with procreate :)
Amazing work, Abbie!
Did I dream it, or did you make a video on how to make Lino cut effect on Procreate? I’m sure I saw it and could have sworn it was from you..?!
Hi Ed. Here is the link to the written tutorial. I never made a video Tute of it. uproot.com.au/procreate/how-to-do-linocut-in-procreate/
I’m getting tripped up at the part where you cut out background after filling in with the mosaic pattern brush. I did it once and can’t figure it out now with the video sped up. The select and clear steps.
I understood that she made the mosaic pattern brush before this video. She does not show how to make it in this video, she just uses it to speed up the background drawing, so she does not have to draw tile by tile.
I couldn’t figure it out either. I just erased it.
Abbie just used the select and clear on the background mosaics to speed up the erasing of that area. You then only have to erase the edge.
I love all of your videos! You've really opened my eyes and pushed me beyond what I thought was capable in ProCreate! THANK YOU!
Thanks..very awesome tutorial
Excellent video Abbie, left a like 😁👍👍
Seriously your so amazing and giving. I respect your talent so much Abbie. I. Going to try this out soon
Why is your background tiles smaller than mine, when I am using your brush set? I can’t get it to look the same
Crafting Heaven Hi, go to the “grain” tab of the brush and slide the “scale” slider slightly to the left. Test the brush. Adjust accordingly.
Oh. My. God. Love this.
This is amazing! Thank you for the tutorial x
Awesome tutorial. Brushes purchased.
Thank you for this great tutorial! I got your brushes they are amazing. With the help of your Tutorial I created a fauxsaic. There is just one step I didn‘t manage - to work on the hidden white layer to change randomly single tile colors. Every time I use the select tool, switch to automatic, pinch a tile, instead of one tile the whole canvas turns black. What am I doing wrong. I checked the tutorial several times but I couldn’t find what is missing in my approach. It would be great if you can help.
Keep your fantastic work going! Thank you, Raffaelina
Hi Raffaelina, you need to decrease the threshold of the selection, you do that by touching the pencil to the area that you want to select and sliding or to the left without lifting it. Conversely, to increase the threshold, you would touch the area that you wanted to select and slide to the right.
Thank you for this fast answer! 😃 I will try it later this day. So excited to figure this out.
It worked now! Thank you! 😍👍🏼
oh my! I love this. I def have to try it out!
Very coooool❤️
Amazing
Amazing as always!!!
Ok your amazing thank you
Fantastic work! In future, can you put the text somewhere else rather than over your work where it obscures what you're talking about? Thanks :0)
I’m not sure what kind of Amazingly Genius gene you came from, but THANK YOU! This is beautiful, fun and easy to follow, step by step. (Although, yes, I slow it waaaaay down!) Thank you so much. So I do have one question for you that seems to be a stumbling block for me. Around 6:35 in the video, you’ve duplicated your original group, flattened it, alpha locked it, filled it with white and hid it. So when you fill it with white, it looks like your grout is showing through there. I wonder how that is possible. Because if you’ve flattened it, when you alpha lock it, doesn’t the entire canvas get selected? When I try this, using your exact steps, the whole thing is filled with white and I don’t see grout showing through. I’d so appreciate your help. Again, Sensei, thank you!
Lee Lanou hi Lee
It sounds like you are including your grout in the group. Only group layers which have tiles in them. So your middle bit and the background tiled bit. Leave out the grout.
Ahhh, that's it. Thank you!!
Wow!
I just read you have a mailing list?!?! How do I get on that?
Hi. It should pop up as you visit my webpage.
nice
As always, brilliant!!! Thank you, you put in so much work. I was part way there but getting it to look ‘right’ was eluding me, thank you so much, I can’t wait to have another go. I love making my own brushes (learnt from your tutorials) but will purchase yours as a thank you. And anyway, they are sure to be much better than mine will be 😀 Kath (Sewgran47)
This may be a dumb question, but where do you get the pictures (circle with ampersand/letter)? Edited 2/13/19: still waiting for a response please.
Sheila Lewis-Lorum hi Sheila, I got mine from Unsplash then just brought it into procreate and changed the color. It worked out pretty good.
Great video - but had to turn the irritating music off
Wow what is this sorcery
