I’m having a problem with the color drop tool. Even when I click and drag the screen to fill the space it leaves a white circle around what I’m filling in. I’m also using a sharp brush but for some reason it looks blurry after I finish drawing with it. Also when I export the video the size of the exported video is a decent size so I don’t think that the canvas is too small. Any help?
I'm missing the apple pencil settings for squeeze....can somebody help me? (they aren't there under "apple pencil") =( (got a new ipad and pro pen though...)
What version of the iPad though? Prime example is the when the Apple Pencil 2 was released it was compatible with the 2022 iPad Pro, yet not compatible with the same year, 2022 iPad Air (they were still bitterly stuck with the original pencil) However, skip forward to 2024, and the new Apple Pencil PRO is released, and is now compatible with 2022 iPad Air, BUT not the 2022 iPad Pro (now we are left bitter) I've seen multiple people mention how Apple employees' sold them a new iPad model and the newest pencil together, only to find out afterwards that they aren't even compatible. So if it's not showing up as a feature, you most likely don't have a compatible model for the Apple Pencil Pro.
I’m new to Procreate and I just started setting my pencil up per your instructions and now every time I touch the pen to the iPad the brush turns white and even if it’s a darker color and I paint with it, it will not actually show the paint and then the brush turns white again. I just made procreate unusable and I’m ready to just give up altogether and trash the app and give up on learning to draw.
That’s a huge reaction, and I sincerely hope you figure out healthy, moderate ways to cope with it or life can get real hard! I recommend you turn things off one by one and test drawing again each time. Worst comes to worst, delete and redownload the app so the settings are refreshed. You don’t HAVE to follow all the changes she’s making in this video - she’s showing new functions and giving advice, but if they’re not helping you get started, there’s no law saying you can’t go back to basics. 😊
@@KukaiTori thx, but i’ve tried that and it still isn’t working. I was being a bit sarcastic, but this all started when I tried following her brush section and even when I get out of that brush and use one of the default brushes, it does the same thing.

I got at m1 as well. Don’t feel too bad you’re not missing out on much. Squeeze only works a little better than double tap which has never worked well and many people like myself turn it off. Double tap accidentally registers double taps and squeeze does that as well. So it is not as good as having a real button like a Wacom pen does. And I’ve tested the nano texture at the store, it feels exactly like my m1 with an ESR Glass screen protector. Except nano texture scratches way easier. I have one on order but I have to wait a month and a half for it to ship, I’m considering canceling and sticking with my m1. The only feature I’m missing that I’d like is hover and barrel roll so I could accurately practice calligraphy on the iPad Pro.
I mean, let's be real, the M1 iPad is an AMAZING iPad too! There will always be a new, shiny exciting tool. Right now, I don't think there's many brushes that automatically use these new roll features: it'll take some time for brush makers to update or create brushes that full take advantage of these features. It'll all be there when your ready for it! And I'm sure there'll be something to feel FOMO about with the next iPad too, it's never ending, haha!

Was "azimuth" always there or did it come with this new update? lol You saved me an entire cost of the new iPad Pro M4. That function alone made my Pencil 2 still relevant.
Azimuth has always been there, just in a different area. It sort of does the same thing as the barrel roll... but unfortunately, it's just not as natural of a feeling. I think most people will find it difficult to tilt their pencil at an angle and actually draw at the same time and get the same effects - at least I really struggled to. :( I wish it was as good as barrel roll - cuz it's very disappointing the Pro pencil doesn't work with older iPads! But you can always try messing with the tilt settings in the Apple Pencil section to see if you can get it to work better for you.
Oh interesting! I know when Procreate Dreams was released, it went out at different times to different countries. This update Procreate version 5.3.10. Fingers crossed you get it soon!

so do I now need to redownload Procreate?
Really useful video. Thanks
alot to take in
I have a regular apple pencil and tried your trick but it didn't work for me!
I got the first stuff, but the relative stroke is like math to me, I just don’t get it, and what is a barrel roll??
Does ANY of this work with the apple pencil gen 1? 😭
@@bubsyy Yup! For example, can use layer select, you just can’t use squeeze, you’ll need to choose a different gesture to activate it.
4:58 does anyone know what size iPad this is?
I’m having a problem with the color drop tool. Even when I click and drag the screen to fill the space it leaves a white circle around what I’m filling in. I’m also using a sharp brush but for some reason it looks blurry after I finish drawing with it. Also when I export the video the size of the exported video is a decent size so I don’t think that the canvas is too small. Any help?
Soooo, you should watch this video, I think it'll help with the problems you mentioned: ruclips.net/video/8w92OBXvF2I/видео.html
Very Cool 😎 Thanks!
by normal do you only mean gen 2? because I have gen 1.
my hover isnt actually doing anything. ive got all the settings turned on but..nothing happens.
hahahaha the azimuth with the inhaler popup got me 🤣
yo gotta try your tips nowww
Ok, that first one just made my last two weeks of procreate feel like chiseling on stone…. I’m already sold, what else?
INSANE!
Can I draw in procreate with no Apple Pencil? (I’m too broke to afford it🙏)
You can but the brush dynamics won’t work.
NGL me watching this video was me making this face >:O the entire time and squeaking, "WHAT?????" Absolutely brilliant. Thank you for making such a detailed, yet concise, highly informed video about these changes. Incredible.
Whoa, INSANE!
Awesome! ☑
Cool feature
Very useful video🙏💜
Okaaaaay, I have to try the two finger pinch/one finger slide for size and opacity adjustment. Someday.... :(... (crying in m1 model).
And I'm sure there'll be something to feel FOMO about with the next iPad too, it's never ending, haha!
i just want procreate to give us the option to switch from percentage to pixels in the brush size area ☹️
uf wat fuer ne prokrete version beziehste dich denn hier? ick hab die 5.3.1 und da jibt et sowat nich ... aber danke trotzdem, wa!
deepl: Which version of Procreate are you talking about? I've got 5.3.1 here and it doesn't have that feature, but thanks anyway!
Amazing. Lots to play with
Was "azimuth" always there or did it come with this new update? lol You saved me an entire cost of the new iPad Pro M4.
@@BrookeGlaser thanks for the reply.
Is that the new iPad too?
Yeah probably love how she doesn't fucking say it
I’m in the uk, don’t have these yet
Oh interesting! I know when Procreate Dreams was released, it went out at different times to different countries. This update Procreate version 5.3.10. Fingers crossed you get it soon!
