The title isn't actually clickbait at all - these tips really left me speechless! What a concise, easy to digest, but HIGHLY informative video! I'm floored! Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge!
Switching layers to a new image !! Mind blown 🤯 also I love how your videos are straight to the point no long-winded intro and I really appreciate it !
Seeing bad comments because of a big youtuber commenting on a video reminds me of Brandon James Geer. Before he got many subscribers, I saw him on a youtube pool. I subscribed him after seeing his profile (he was about 4K subs when I subscribed, if I’m not wrong)
“So instead of duplicating each individual layer, drag and drop your group of layers onto the canvas..” Me: EXCUSE ME, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TEACH ME THAT AFTER IVE BEEN DOING IT THE BORING AND TEDIOUS WAY FOR 6 YEARS
Possibly the first time I have not been lied to on RUclips. Seriously I had just learned TWO of these a week ago from another guy claiming to have awesome super pro tips. He had two. You had ALL PRO TIPS. Thanks so much.
The hiding all layers except for the current layer, mass duplication, copy and pasting across canvases will save my life when I do animation next! The referencing one will probably help me color, thank you!
I just recently started getting into procreate to create a logo for our small leather goods business venture and I’ve become so fascinated. Now moving to incorporate designs I can create in procreate and print out and be able to transfer to our leather projects. These tips were extremely helpful. Thank you!
This was so straight-forward, clean and clear! Really appreciate it! A powerful app comes with a confusing learning curve, so this has been amazing in finding out the less-known tips that are actually useful!
All of these were so useful!!! But the most mind-blowing thing was seeing how you put your finger down on the circle in the beginning to make it a perfect circle! I knew the trick with the line, but couldn’t figure out how to get my long-hold shapes perfect.
Thank you. I've never used the reference tip. And the fill in for the pencil tool as it always used to spill out. Thank you so much for this very helpful pro tips.
Wow! Extend canvas is soooo cool! You don't need a cable if you have airplay. I am using my smart-tv as the extend while drawing in the sofa - just amazing! Thanks so much for the tips!
I’ve watched about 10 different “procreate tips” videos because I couldn’t figure out ONE thing. And you Sir, answered the question I’ve been trying to answer ALL DAY, with one word: reference Thank you good Sir
I’m barely a month into procreate and this is absolutely astounding information for me personally and I truly, truly appreciate you for making this video!!!
Same as someone else commented. I’ve been using it for over a year and thought I’d know most of these... I didn’t know ANY of them! Thanks so much for the super helpful info!!!
Those duplication of multiple layer and transfer them to a different document were things I hadn't figured out or seen before, both super helpful! Thanks :)
DUDE THANK U SO MUCH the one where u duplicate and group the layers then drag them out into another canvas is amazing and the moving of the opacity and size of brush, ive been looking on how someone would do that! Thank u :) (I only knew 1/7 of these!)
I’ve watched so many videos on Procreate now, and I’m constantly amazed that there’s ANOTHER “trick!” I knew that I could hold my pencil down and it would make a straight line, and I knew that if I put my finger down while still on the line I could move it in 15 degree increments. BUT I didn’t know I could form a round circle by putting my finger down. AND, I love that I can hook up to my computer screen! I read that there was some kind app that is supposed to let you work on your iPad while using your computer monitor to see a large version, but Procreate makes this capable for itself!
Thanks for the tips! I haven’t used Procreate in YEARS lol I had the original iPad Mini when I first started “digital” work on a iPad before it became mainstream. I just got a iPad Pro so I’m trying to get back into the swing of things to digital work!
I only knew the first one and thought that this going to be another of those videos and then you showed totally new features!! Thank you for not repeating the obvious functions like other RUclipsrs do!!

Wow. Every time I watch an art tips video, I almost never learn something new. But amazing, I had no idea about tips 2-7! Which never happens! Thank you!!!!
Fully prepared to say, "pfft!" not speechless at all. BOY WAS I WRONG. never a more accurate title for a video. That duplicating onto a new document feature is something I desperately needed in my life!!
these are genius helpful procreate tips, thank you. I have a gen. 6th iPad with Apple Pencil and I love my iPad and Apple Pencil. I am a hobby artist and a noob at digital drawing. My main app I use is Adobe draw on my iPad and Photoshop on my Mac and Windows PC's.
This is so useful! I only got my iPad 3 days ago and I’m already getting frustrated with video tutorials because every single one for beginners just covers the same stuff
Hi Ian, Great video, thank you for the tips! I have a question that you might be able to help me with. I want to use my ipad as a light box to trace over a sketch using tracing paper but its difficult with the touch screen as it keeps moving. I found out that you can freeze the older models by pressing the home button 3 times but with the newer models you can't do this as there is no home button. Can you help? I am huge fan of your work by the way! love your podcasts and watching your videos, you have inspired me massively! thank you! :)
I didn't know you could freeze the screen so that's new to me. There is an app called Lightbox Trace which enables you to lock the screen while tracing.
@@IanBarnard Hi Ian, thank you for your reply, I wasn't expecting one so quickly so thank you for that :) Sorry, I wasn't very clear in my explanation, what I meant was to trace off an image I have already created on my ipad, but I figured it out!... well my husband did. You can temporarily freeze the screen by pressing the power button 3 times, then clicking 'guided access'. To come out do the same, enter your pin and click done! Its such a useful tool. I had previous sketches in procreate that I then wanted to watercolour so I turned up the brightness to max, closed the curtains and was able to trace straight onto thick watercolour paper with out the image moving about. So much quicker and easier than printing the sketch out first and then using a light box. I like the idea of the app you recommended too! It'll be useful for tracing over an existing image or photo when you don't have a lightbox to hand. Thanks again and looking forward to more videos from you! :)
You can also run your iPad through QuickTime to your Mac. Just open QuickTime, with your iPad connected to the computer through your normal USB connection, then create a new movie and as a source, you can now pick your iPad as if it’s an external camera, but it’ll show your screen instead... now you can have that iPad view as a floating window on your computer and be able to multitask. You can resize the window too. I’ve been using Procreate since the iPad2. Yes, I’m getting old lol!
Mad oh! Dragging a couple of layers to another project was mind blowing for me because I always wish I could do that and you just answered my wish like a Santa😘
Good one. Helped a lot. I mainly use Procreate for thumbnail or minor drawing as I am not a pro. Watching these tips are like "Will they work on my one too?" :-) Thanks.
i didnt think i was going to see anything i didnt already know, but you can REFERENCE THE LINES? I HAVE RUINED SO MANY PEICES MY TRYING TO SELECT AND PAINT AND- thank you 😭 you saved my life
Excellent tips and excellently presented. I don't have Procreate, nor do I have an iPad Pro on which to use it. But one day... I'll try to remember these tips. Thanks!
The title isn't actually clickbait at all - these tips really left me speechless! What a concise, easy to digest, but HIGHLY informative video! I'm floored! Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge!
now this is what i call a proper ideal tips video
Switching layers to a new image !! Mind blown 🤯 also I love how your videos are straight to the point no long-winded intro and I really appreciate it !
mind blown as well!!
I'm a beginner with Procreate and these are totally helpful! There are so many tips and tricks that I know I can still learn.
I yelled “What?!” at least 4 times watching this 😳 Thanks for the tips!!!
STORYTELLER from KOREA me too, especially the last one.
Me too!
dido
hahaha me too wow
So true Storyteller ^^
How many times...
How many times have I wished Procreate had these tools, only to find out now that they already existed

Same! That will teach me to assume.
Artofizanagi same here
Artofizanagi same haha
uweeee
the fill bucket thing fucking blew my mind lmao 😫 i couldve saved so much time if i knew i could adjust how much it covered
The copying multiple layers to a different doc!! Lifesaver
“So instead of duplicating each individual layer, drag and drop your group of layers onto the canvas..”
Me: EXCUSE ME, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TEACH ME THAT AFTER IVE BEEN DOING IT THE BORING AND TEDIOUS WAY FOR 6 YEARS
I do apologize, though I have been there too for many years doing the long method.
@@IanBarnard the "scenic route" method :)
LOL this comment wins..
Possibly the first time I have not been lied to on RUclips. Seriously I had just learned TWO of these a week ago from another guy claiming to have awesome super pro tips. He had two. You had ALL PRO TIPS. Thanks so much.
Loved the ability to copy multiple layers, especially copying layers into another work. Thanks for sharing!
Thank You for the tips. Superb!
That perfect circle technique he does at the very beginning was also completely unknown to me (had to google it afterwards) so make that 8 tips 😅
I'll change the cover! 😉
@@IanBarnard you never did lol
Hi
@@thebestauthor8212 think it was a joke mate
Wow in the little woods ?
I am quite a newbie myself but right now I feel like hugging you. Thank you so much for this short video with the tips!!!!
Jaw already dropped at the first tip, THANK YOU SO MUCH
Carolyn Cheng mine too!
Carolyn Cheng lol me too hahaha
The hiding all layers except for the current layer, mass duplication, copy and pasting across canvases will save my life when I do animation next! The referencing one will probably help me color, thank you!
I like how you jumped right in without delay. These were great, thank you!
Yes, I have listened to other videos where it takes the person sooooooooo long to get to the point; and it makes me crazy!
Wow! Thank you so much! The first tip - filling the circle - is one of my biggest challanges. I find myself tracing over and over to fill things.
The first tip... I'm already mad at how much time I've wasted redrawing shapes in order to fill them.
Couldn't decide between up or down vote. Up vote, agree; down vote bc mannn, so much time
SAME!!!!!
One of the things he did that wasn’t even a tip, surprised me and gave me flashbacks of my wasted time 😂

I recently found a tip, when merging multiple layers pinch the layers together in the layers tab! Saves time over merging each one individually
Oh my gosh that REFERENCE TIP is so helpful!! I always select my line art, then have to jump back to the other layer over and over. Thank you!!
The shape full was so helpful and I’m so glad I finally know what the heck the reference layer is!
This was amazing!! I think I might have found my new Procreate mentor. Thank you, thank you!
WOW WOW WOW absolutely gold tips!
