    Editing a comment I made earlier -- Sorry if I was rude. This comment was made when I was frustrated in trying to download the free brushes. Yes, I paid $2.00 for these free brushes, but that was my choice to help support this channel, not because it was required. My problem with the download was operator error, nothing to do with the process. Once I calmed down and took a breath, everything worked well when I went back to try again. Everything is hard when trying to learn something new, especially when you are 78 years old! Love your videos and I apologize for my blowing off steam at your expense. I also appreciate the fact that you posted my comment, even though it wasn’t, very complimentary.

      Vector capable software is wildly difficult to create from a development standpoint, and is largely limited by hardware. It's unfortunately not as simple as just "adding a tool", it often requires a ton of restructuring behind-the-scenes, sometimes to the point of creating a whole other copy of the software. Not to say that it's impossible or that other software is neccessarily better for having it, but changing and adding tools after the fact is very difficult.

    For example, if I want to print an 210mm x 255mm sized picture which is 2480 x 3012.. how do I determine a larger pixel size that is still high quality, but not so large that it doesn't allow many layers. Is 20% larger enough?

    Hi! When I resize an illustration (make it smaller). Then I click on that layer again, and resize up (make it larger) it is suuuuper pixelated. Is there any way to avoid this?

    • @ghostpaper
      @ghostpaper  4 года назад +9

      Hi there, unfortunately no - Procreate is a raster program, meaning it doesn’t retain the pixel accuracy like a vector program does when scaling up and down elements. So the best way really is to make a backup copy of the layer you want to scale so you can always start from a source that haven’t been scaled down. It’s one way to minimize the amount the pixelation. The more you scale, the more pixelated your element will be. Good luck!

I get confused in the walkthrough, you say NOT to select the + create brush? And to edit the settings of a current brush, correct? The brush you edit is an untitled (custom) brush… which stock brush should I use to start changing the settings. I wish procreate would just already have a canvas size and bush availble that will allow for smooth lines… hopefully someone sees this comment and can help me in right direction. Thank you

    really appreciate this video was struggling getting into drawing on my iPad as I'm still quite new using it even with sketches i couldn't figure out why i was having so much human jitter compared to when doing drawing on a wacom tablet. I honestly did not know you could edit your brushes
    (but then again it could be because I'm using a glass protector and a magnetic paper one on top lol)

    what canvas size + dpi do you use/recommend? i'm struggling to find a good one. i just use screensize but there's gotta be a better option right? Because screensize gives you low dpi. Can i use screensize and make the dpi higher? I’m new to this

    Really good tutorial and thank you for the brushes. I just got Procreate and I want to get started but already the default brushes aren't good enough. If I get brave enough to get in and start messing around with the settings, you seem to explain it well.

    What’s the best cmyk profile option for DTG printing? Is the generic option the best? Is 600 dpi better than 300?

    Thank you for the tips, they are really helpful for beginners like me and you worded them well so their mostly easy to understand. I hope you can help me. I drew a very complicated drawing on the RGB canvas and I was very happy about how clear it looked, however when I tried to color it in bright colors (like this drawing is meant to be) my color wheel showed all the colors very dull.
    Is there any way I can fix this?
    I hate to think I’ve wasted days on this drawing and can’t color it brightly.

      You'll need to download a program like "Unzip" from the AppStore and use that, similar to the way you would use 7-Zip or Winrar on your computer.

    I upscaled an image with nearest neighbour and saved the project. Only noticed how bad the lines looked after I had saved. Is there anyway to fix this without redrawing the design? Thanks

      I’m so sorry, there really isn’t a way if you don’t have a backup copy of the illustration. Once you save, the history is gone 🙃

    This is something that always bothered me with the line art. I've been trying to make pics with maybe a regular wallpaper size, like 1280 x 1024. So to make this size, I really got to make a really big image, and then shrink it down?

    Thanks so much for all the great information!
    All I have right now is an iPhone 8 and an iPad Mini 2 so I won’t be able to download your brushes. Do you think if I follow your instructions, I can make them in Procreate 4.3.9?

    • @ghostpaper
      @ghostpaper  4 года назад

      You should just give it a try downloading them and testing it out on Procreate 4.3 - they’re free anyway 👍✨ or yes, you could try to follow it on your side but the brush maker in procreate 4.3 will be missing some of those features you see in the video

    Hello I have to work for several projects in a little format 690px width I tried to import some psd that I previously did in photoshop or to copy final calque made from the square canva in procreate. I know 690px is really small but my images being bigger why are they pixelised when I start zooming ? Also at that canva size the brush such as monoline became to big even at minimum… I tryed to double the canva size but the brush is still to big

    Great video!! I recently downloaded procreate and this video really helps! Also I Drew some 2048x2048 gif stickers but now need to downsize it to 240x240. Do you know why downsizing really damaged the quality? I just used the 'crop and resize' functionality
