    That part starting at 1:12 where he says "you have none of the problems of people who know more than you do because the more you know, the less you like it" reminds me of the quote by Lisa Simpson - "Dad as intelligence goes up, happiness often goes down." I do not consider myself exceptional in any way mentally, however I related very much to the idea of "dumbing yourself down" to sort of blend in.
    When I was younger I always passed standardized tests with ease, but slacked off in class to fly under the radar. I don't like attention, and I certainly don't like being given praise that I feel is unwarranted. So I continued for years to, in a way, suppress myself. It changed me fundamentally, and it's a habit I'm still trying to shake off to this day.
    In a way, though. It's nice this way. I've found that by suppressing my natural reactions to things I give myself time to experience them in a different way. It can be eye opening, and can make you an easier going person.

    Don't wanna sound like one of those shitty pseudo intellectual kids but it really struck me when he mentioned that you shouldn't dumb yourself down just to be friends with people. I've always wanted a friend who knew a lot so we can share information and have engaging conversations and further our talents but I have found 0 people like that. Instead I try my best to appease my school friends with dumb humor and admittedly I'm unhappy. It's made a definition of a friend incredibly superficial to me, it's just someone who hangs out with you, and that's obviously no real friend

    • @CastleHassall
      @CastleHassall 6 месяцев назад +1

      it is really hard to find a truly good friend in life who we can talk with about all kinds of interesting things too, i hope life works out really good for you.. it's best to build up doing the things we love and find interesting, at least that way we don't regret not trying to do those things, and through time those skills can help us in life too, and can also help us meet people at can relate with
      Good luck with you pursuing doing what you love i hope!
      my biggest mistake was just not trying to do the things that i felt would be good to do, due to other peoples cynicism or guilt trips when i wanted to fly fast jets and was surrounded by pacifists.. but really they saved me from doing harm in this world maybe.. and I've started doing my songwriting again after getting diverted in life for years.. but my best advice, given based on my regrets, is it is best to try to do things you love or are interested in and ignore people who try to tell you what you should study or work on or do etc.. only you can know best what you would like to do in life or in your days and it's best to trust and do what your instincts and gut feeling and drives are telling you you would like to do and build up in your life
      and avoid people who are mean to you on purpose or seem to enjoy mocking you.. they might say they are friends but they can't be trusted if they do that
      I've got lots of other things i can think of but i can't mention the RUclips channel i run where i talk about things like that as i would get even more shadowbanned than i am for my political statements for then spamming comments sections! it's not the one I'm posting this from
      but i think it's really important to look at yourself and tell yourself you are doing Great in what can be a tough world and then just please try to enjoy life too douing things you would like to do, even small things you would like to do in your day or see or experience, and it all adds up to create a good set of memories that you did things you wanted to try to do in your life, then even if things don't work out you don't have the regard lregrets of not trying to do things you felt you would have liked to try to do, and you can always change your direction at any time you feel you want to and try other things, and all that experience adds up into more knowledge and more skills and more memories and hopefully good friends and love etc
      Good luck!! i hope life will be Really good for you and for anyone who ever reads this in future

This was only released on a 1995 sampler CD titled "Kill Ugly Radio Some More," which was the sequel to "Kill Ugly Radio" and was followed by "Return Of The Son Of Kill Ugly Radio." @Zolar Czakl I started to get involved in local politics. At the local level there are a lot of clueless people in elected office. This is the pool from which national candidates are drawn. Those tend to be people who, if they are capable of learning anything, it is only how to get elected.

    I would never call myself intelligent, but others have certainly said I was. However, I've never tried to play dumber than I am, just to maintain friendships.
    And consequently, I've never been popular or had a lot of friends. So the question is: would I be happier if I pretended to be dumb enough to watch TV
    and drink beer all day? I'd still be alone, but I'd be free from the pressures of having to perform...

    Also if ya dig and enjoyed this by Frank Zappa 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on RUclips. 😀
