I think one big plus for the xe4 is that you can not only change the length of your lens but also the look you get from different glasses. I have it paired with a Voigt 35mm 1.4 for dreamy portraits. It’s adapted from a M-mount, yes, but still gives me a smaller form factor than the fujinon lenses (manual focus shooter here). And it goes for all vintage glasses too. The x100v can’t beat that.
I wanted to get the x-e4. I found a "used -like new" condition but priced at 2800CAD 🥲. Couldn’t find it any cheaper. I opted for the x-m5 since it was within my budget and compact.
I love both and I own both. I don’t regret having both, sometimes I feel I want to go out just with the x100v, sometimes I need a wider option and I take the xe4 + 18 or 16 and also bring a 35 or 50 to complement. And sometimes I bring both with me. Lovely couple in my opinion.

With the price of film going up and up, I decided that this year would be the right time to invest in a solid camera. My search organically led me here. Beautiful video. "Camera RUclips" definitely has the production value locked down, to nobody's surprise. Fuji has their X Summit next month, so I think I should hold off on both of these for now and see if they're dropping successors to either of these in the near future.
On one shoulder, a little angel reminds me that I don't even take that many photos and definitely don't need an X100V. Marc sits on the other shoulder. Great video and inspiring music! (inspiring me to get it some day)

You confinced me to stay with my X100V and not getting the X-E4. If find it sometimes to tight, but I think I will get the WLC lens to solve that problem when I'm in that situation. Thank you!

Hello, I bought XE-4 and when I had chance I bought also X100V. Tested both and kept only X100V. Mostly for the reasons you are mentioning in this video. Its hard to describe, but XE-4 was just another camera with interchangeable lens and for that you can buy Sony or Canon and you will be more satisfied. (mostly if you plan to use it with bigger lens you will wish for it to have a different ergonomics and this fact destroys benefit of changing lenses on XE-4)
At least 1 person on Yt who speak clearly about 2 features really important / interesting for me. Leaf shutter and ND integrated. Thanks for mentioning that. And for the « sound » test. It’s really important for me, discretion… Both are really interesting and if i can at the end i would love have the two. Or maybe one more high end Fuji camera. thanks for the intelligent and clear review. 🫶
The Xe4 is a much better camera! The F2 lens on the V has distortion so bad I can’t believe nobody talks about it! Try taking a picture of a straight edge, it’s a nightmare
Hi! I sold my XE4, so I will not be able to make that comparison, but the video would be extremely similar to this video as the VI and V are extremely similar. It really comes down to what form factor you prefer!
Either would work! The wider angle lens of thr x100v might be what you're looking for, but with the xe4, you can attach the lens of your choice! You really can't go wrong with either, it really comes down to what lens you'd prefer to capture landscapes with!
The wide conversion lens is quite high in demand also, and I had to buy mine via a friend from Japan. The conversion lens is heavier and longer than I imagined. And no, it’s not wide enough, its only slightly wider than the iPhone main camera.

But I am one single person, and I’m thinking about the benefits for the largest possible audience

You may find the 23mm on the X100v is too limiting for landscape, but that depends on what you mean by landscape. I'd want wider.
