    I've watched a ton of X100VI videos over the past few days, but this is one of the best. Most other videos concentrate on just the specs, or the differences from the X100V, but you actually going into the details of why someone might want a Fujifilm camera, and then more specifically this one, I found more meaningful and impactful. I'm already sold, I already pre-ordered one from B&H on release night - but if I hadn't, you'd have sold me!

    Also note:
    The x100VI can output 16bit tiffs as RAW conversion files. That’s big for me as I use the fuji x RAW software to output their film sims faithfully, usually with any exposure and WB adjustments or corrections. Then I use LR to mask and create grads. Now I can do that on converted Tiffs instead of jpgs!

    This is exactly why I got an XT5. I saw the hype with the x100v so got a retail price XT5 when they came out. I love taking photos but I cannot be bothered with post processing. I've not got time for that. I took a recent trip to canada and I was staggered by every single photo I took, every single one looked amazing. Most of the time people are just uploading them to instagram (myself included) so being able to just immediately upload a jpeg without fuss is a great bonus.

    i’ve used an X10 for years and i love it !! I got used for free and it takes great film simulation photos, it’s not amazing in the dark but its perfect as a bacpacking camera because you’re not afraid to break it, and then you use it more😊 My photography teacher had the X100V and while it is a lot better and newer, it’s also way more expensive. Im definitely going to upgrade when i can afford it but for now the X10 is still a good camera

The only thing that probably will bother me in the beginning is that it's not full frame and my love for full frame is very strong. But I'm so exited that the camera "is what it is". I've been shooting with the X100F since 2018, and it's my most carried camera. It's so non-intrusive that I use it for a lot of things such as for street photography, vacation trips, friends and family. It's just a friendly-looking camera that doesn't put people off. The only feature I wanted on my X100F is the tilt screen. I never saw the need to upgrade to the X100V, especially since the newer models lose the d-pad. The X100VI does seem tempting, but I would have to use it to see if I would want to spend $1,600 on another X100. My X100F still works fine, and I wouldn't want to sell it after all I've been through with it.

    I think this really nails the answer to the question I've seen on so many other videos about why a little fixed lens camera is so sought after. I love my x100v for all the main reasons you mention, namely the small form factor and the wonderful images straight out of the camera (I enjoyed the dive into why Fuji handles colors so well!) because I don't want to sit down at my computer editing photos of my day out with friends or weekend away like I used to when I would lug a full frame kit around everywhere.
    A camera like this takes out so many steps between taking a photo and enjoying the finished product, and I'm especially looking forward to how the IBIS will expand its capabilities into better lowlight situations!

    As someone so familiar with a range of photography films and formats as David, I did not expect him to bring up the full frame point. Other than being beat to death “full frame” at this stage in digital camera sensors is a semantic shift from the days when digital sensors were competing with film formats. Why are you so compelled to ask for a 35mm equivalent sensor? It can’t be because a larger sensor produces better dynamic range and DOF because if those are the reasons to ask then you can buy a 50R, range style medium format camera today that’s even larger than “full frame”. I’m convinced we ask for full frame because we’ve been conditioned to assume anything less than is.. well, less than.

  • @darknesswithin0
    @darknesswithin0 7 месяцев назад +1

    5:46 Yeah, so David that's the same time Oppenheimer was released and the internet was flooded with the importance 35mm film -> the importance of film in general. I think they also mentioned in one the making videos that Kodak is only company making that bnw version. So that's probably why it peaked there...

    • @Kevon420
      @Kevon420 7 месяцев назад

      Kodak is the only one making black & white film for cinema applications (XX 5222) but Fujifilm still makes B&W stills film (Acros) but yes that was a hyped up moment. Also the camera got suddenly very popular on TikTok, which possibly could have been motivated by that.
