I was thinking of going for an x-100v and, of course, couldn't find one. So I decided just to stick with my X-E3 (and X-T3). Having watched your video I think I made the right decision and saved a lot of money in the process.
Wow, sorry about the loss of your X-E3. I use that camera as part of a trilogy along with the X-T2 and X-pro2. All three cameras have the exact same sensor and processor so I pick my camera for the situation, small or large body for the lenses I expect to use. I have all the Q menus set up identically and get consistent results from all. I never looked at the X-E4 simply because of the missing buttons and dials. Don't want to alter my technique for just one body.

I got my X E3 brand new with the Kit lens for around $800, at first i wasnt happy, but the more I used it It grew on me. When the E4 came out I kept my E3, love this thing.
Couple years back thought about going with the X100V as my sole camera, but had to go with the X-E3 for lens versatility. I'm really glad I did. What started out as a journey looking for lightweight lenses instead, I've found I prefer larger lens for handling. Yeah, having the versatility of being able to change lenses is definitely a key factor that did it for me and made the decision easY. And it’s a great system that offers a wide variety of lenses from Fuji, and other manufacturers, which is awesome.
Thank you so much for the kind feedback. I definitely agree if you built your skill set and trained your eye the camera you decide to use is just a preference.
So did I about 2 weeks ago. Just been walking (shopping) round Oxford in the rain, with an 18mm f6. 3 pancake. Just kept it in coat pocket. So convenient. Really enjoy using the XE3.
Funny, the focus mode selector switch is the only button I'd have kept. I'm not missing the dial or any other buttons, love the xe4!!! I also like the Formfactor, less fiddling and being more in the scene...came from xt3. And for my small-medium hands it's fine with just the thumb rest.
I’m on a X-T3 right now and considering moving to an X-T5 or X-E4. I’d love a smaller body but the lack of buttons/controls worries me a bit. Glad to see someone happy to have moved from the X-T3 to the X-E4!
Liked your shots on both cameras, which goes to show it’s not what you use but how you use it. I have the X-E3, I love the style and ergonomics and like you, just wish it had the tilt screen.
What I really want is a Fuji X100VI(?) with the 40Mp sensor, 18mm f/2, leaf shutter and digital crop for 35 and 50mm focal length equivalents! Waddya all reckon? ‘Leica Q3 killer’ or not?
Great vids, thanx! I don’t miss the front focus switch as I leave the camera on manual focus with a rear button used for auto focus override and focus locking. With manual TTArtisan 35mm and 17mm primes I have the joystick click-down configured to give me the focus detail zoom - perfect!
I found a Xe4 lens combo but didn't want to open cuz I tried somebody's XE4 and I didn't like that it's lacking some dials and buttons. I think ill return it and just get a XE3. Awesome video!
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the dials and buttons on the xe3 definitely make more sense. You can definitely customize it a like more. You’ll save some money too that you can invest in a lens potentially 🤷🏼♂️
Hey, I brought an xe3 earlier this year but ended up buying the xe4. Apart from the ergonomics, there biggest and the most annoying thing I found about the xe3 was the custom profiles. You can add 7 profiles but you can only save 3 custom white balance shifts ( which is the main thing u need to get proper recipes), this means you would have to manually change the WB if the ones you saved don’t match with the other 4. I hope that makes sense. Anyway something to consider. If you only use 3 recipes then it’s fine. I ended up buying the xe4 for that reason, so each custom profile saves with its respective WBshift. I wish I knew this before buying the xe3. Need to sell mine, but for now just keeping it as a back up.
@@cashmererose1101 yeah I totally understand that if you mainly use the recipes and shoot jpg. I did notice that the Xe4 is definitely advanced in that regard. For the recipes I used on the xe3 it wasn’t that big of a deal for me because I mainly only used one or two at most three recipes. Most of the time I just use the recipe to get an idea what the final product of an image could look like Because I enjoy editing my raw files. :)
Right if you are more post editor then the xe3 will work fine. I switched form cannon for it was the first I used Fuji. I think in the end you do gravitate to a few recipes you like best, but they don’t work in all lighting conditions well is what I found. But either way still prefer the xe4. I just like to have the option haha. I believe that only the camera released with the xtrans 5 I think, (correct me if I am wrong) are the models you can save all 7 customs profiles with WB shift. Basically xe4, xt4, x100v etc…. But I would double check, not easy information to find. I’d check in the camera shop . Cheers
You’re more than welcome. Glad this video was helpful for you a little bit. The X100V is definitely a very good camera. It all depends on what you are looking for in the end.
LOVE your ‘Stealth’ look! I just can’t bear the 27mm (40mm eqiv.) focal length - takes me back to the Rollei 35 from my youth. I use a silver X-E4 with the silver 16mm f2.8 so, sadly, no sexy square hood for mine😢
I used to have X-Pro 2, XE2s and X100f cameras for fun jobs and I use X-T3 and X-H1 cameras for my Technical, Commercial and Studio work. Because the three former cameras had fixed screens and no live view on an HDMI monitor I couldn’t use them on studio rigs. The X-E4 changes all of that as it has that brilliant multi-angle screen and will drive a big external monitor when used on an overhead studio rig for product and repro work. The trouble is though It’s so adaptable I now get it tied up with studio projects and can’t take it walkabout with the 16mm f/2.8, grip and thumb grip - darn it! Mine is silver with silver compact primes and I’m currently experimenting with a great little silver X-A3 with the new 28mm and 21mm TTArtisan optical viewfinders: $350 for a mint used X-A3 body is an absolute bargain (until the hipsters push the prices up)! 😂
Thanks for sharing that that’s awesome to know. The prices will go up I feel like. you saw it on the x100 series as well as the X E3 and xe4 now. Unfortunately
Nice review. Loving my X-E3. Hoping for X-E5 some day. What are your favorite lenses for this camera, Steven? Mine are the XF 23mm F2 WR + XF 35mm F2 WR + XF 56mm F1.2 R.
i was actually going to buy the xe 3 because of your review, but i get the sony a6400 instaed with 35mm zeiss lens pretty compact for me. but definitely i miss the fuji color haha i still can get that using my xt 10 so im okay i think. i hope the xe 5 coming out soon
I have an X-E3. I love this camera and won't get a new X-E camera until Fuji put the new 40-megapixel sensor into the X-E cameras. It would be so awesome if they do that.
Xe4 has enough to blow up a print to A2 without any grain. Unless you want to print up to billboard size I would worry too much about the megapixel wars!
thanks so much. glad i chose the xe3 to replace the pen f after it died. both pen f and the xe4 were not available. enjoyed the camera but not so much because of the 18-55 mm lens. mothing wrong with it but too bulky for my liking. now waiting for ttartisan 27 mm to arrive. but still got a pen f when i found guess something about olympus bodies regarding the no dust at all in the sensor that makes me come back to them. no a troll here. really like the xe3 very sexy and love the film simulation so much, just hope they make something about the dust in the sensor. thanks again.
I’m thinking of getting a X-E3 I started with an X-T4, but since I built it into a video rig, I can’t easily use it for photo so I bought a 50R, which is amazing, but now I have a load of X-mount lenses I can’t use, so I’m thinking if I get an X-E3, it’ll be like a baby version of the 50R that can use my old lenses
Good luck trying to back button focus on the xe4.... whereas on the xe3 you just programme the push function of the rear dial for that. Because it has a - you know - rear dial.
wonderful videos like this are precisely why the XE4 has been on back order since last year, and that the used XE4s are going for over 1k. we need to stop talking about this camera, at least until I can finally get my hands one. cheers.
kind of a shame they have discontinued this line. i kind of get it with the x100 and xt series being so close, but the xe4 has just kind of given me the best of both worlds. not that i need to upgrade from my xe4 anyway but its sad to think in the future if i should ever break my xe4 there will be nothing to upgrade to. probably go to an a7c or something similar at that point
When I shot with my X-Pro2 I often used manual focus. Fuji's focus assist and histograms makes it accurate and fun. I've since sold that camera and replaced it with a Canon R6. It takes nice pics, but it's boring, heavy, and not much fun. Plus it has a bundle of buttons and features I never use, so I sold it. Now I'm in the market for one of Fuji's rangefinder style cameras, but they are all discontinued. What's up with that Fuji? I'm sure there will be an X-100 update, but less sure about the Pro and E line. Would prefer the larger sensor and tilt LCD of the X-E4, but removing the focus selection dial and the rear command dial are deal breakers. Also, not sure where you got your prices, but used X-E4's are going for $1200 to $1400 and the X-E3 is around $800.
I've been jamming on the 50mm F2 lately. XE4. Kodachrome 64 sim. It's a great combo. Regrettably due to giant man hands, I can't use the XE cams without add-on grips. Otherwise, no regrets. Have you ever messed with the original XT1 by any chance?
I have not tried the xt1 oldest model I have tried is the xt20. Which still was pretty epic! I myself have pretty big hand too and the grip does help a lot. The xe3 I was able to handle without a grip but the xe4 definitely not.
You got it I’m glad you like it. The name for the lens hood is a squarehood you can find them on Instagram. They are a little pricey though. only worth it if you decide to stick to the 27 mm I think.
I just found my answer further down in the comments! I also have an XE3, it’s very powerful considering it’s small size and pocketability. Sadly the eye sensor no longer works correctly, so I have mapped a button to switch between view modes, but I still love it with the 27mm as an ‚always with me‘ camera.
XE4 has an external official handgrip which fits perfectly and feels awesome on the other hand XE3's contour grip makes the external official grip not so useful. I hope I can remove that grip and attach XE4's external official grip.
I just realized the XE4 has no focus mode switch on the fromt of the camera... I only like the Classic Negative, but I'm happy with my XE3, it looks more beautiful than XE4
I don't own a x-e3 or x-e4, but as i understand they got rid of the buttons in favor of the touch-screen and it's commands.. Not that i like using a touch screen (i don't), but it might be just as customisable as the x-e3.
That is a good point and interesting take. I also am not a fan of using a touchscreen. In my experience there are no options to set it to get to a certain setting fast as you would be able to do with customizable buttons. Your idea definitely makes sense though it would definitely be a way to make it more customizable.
Thanks a lot for this review, it looks so good! Love this black color and atmosphere when u made a comparison on the table! I was working as videographer about 6 years and used only Sony cameras, but now i wanted to start street photography. Deciding between ex3, ex4 and 100f, so your video was very helpfull! how often do u use flip screen btw ? is it a game changer?
Thank you so much for the feedback! The flip screen is definitely helpful and I do find myself shooting from the hip much more. I would say for me I definitely like to have it. On the other hand I do wish it had a rear dial to change my settings a little faster but I can make it work.
Hey Steven, knowing what you know now, would you still go for the XE4 or would you have got another XE3, especially as you could see no difference in image quality and preferred the ergonomics and additional function buttons of the XE3?
Hey George. So I used to lean towards the xe3 in that regards but that was until I utilized the flip screen more and more and started shooting from the hip more and now I don’t want to miss it anymore. But if the flip screen is not a big thing for me, I would lean more towards the XE3. 🤷🏼♂️
So they are definitely similar. The xe4 has a couple of small options that the xe3 doesn’t have when it comes to creating recipes but they are almost the same.
When it comes to camera I really enjoy the xe4. For film simulations I like the Portra style simulation from fujiweekly.com. I personally also use one I created myself.
It’s from the company squarehood (you can look them up on Instagram) and is specifically designed for the Fuji 27 mm and 2.8 but of course it can be used on any lens with a 39 mm filter threat.
So it depends if you like a wider field of view or tighter… and also if you want autofocus or not. I have used the 7Artisans 25mm f1.8 which was great and for $75 you can’t go wrong with it. I also heard that ttartisans has a 27mm f2.8 with autofocus for around $150 which is compact and decent.
@@StevenSchulzPhoto I am most comfortable with manual focus 50mm equivalent (35mm apsc) lens. Maybe ttartisan 35mm f1.4 or kipon iberit 35mm f2.4? XE-4 is my favorite
Hey Steven, Wot a lovely beautiful & informative video. I’m thinking of buying an XE-3, or 4 and if I can achieve something of the quality of your images, (not the same, ofc), in their colour, I’ll be very happy. Thanks mate. (Hv Sub’d)
What’s your experience using the X-E3 at night? I’ve been trying to shoot with it here in Philadelphia but I find it hard to get quality sharp images compared to my X-T4 or even my X-T2
So in my experience, it did pretty well now it does depends on your settings, of course. I also commit to a ISO lower than 1250. And it was working pretty well for me as long as the situation you are shooting is decently lit.
So I have the Fujifilm 27mm F2.8. On this camera, and it is pretty versatile grade for all kinds of things and it keeps the profile of the camera pretty small. Are you looking for a fixed focal length or do you want to be able to zoom?
So I use a portra like recipe just to get a rough idea on what the photo could look like. I do shoot raw and jpg and edit my raw files afterwards in Lightroom.
@@StevenSchulzPhoto Yes! My pre-order was cancelled and was informed of that. Now it is the time to be patient and see if a X-E5 will come out soon 🤞🤞🤞
So it kinda depends. If you want to be a little more flexible with the focal lengths the 10-24 f4 is great. That’s Fuji’s wide angle zoom. I like the 27mm because it makes this set up so small. You can take it anywhere. But honestly it depends on what you are trying to do. 27mm would be atriums 40mm full frame. Which is in my opinion a great focal lens for multi use.
I’m sorry to hear that and you are right they are starting to sell out everywhere as well and are on back order in a lot of places. I would recommend searching your local camera stores because that’s how I found mine.
It’s to not make the white writing stand out so much. It’s less noticeable when you hood the camera up to your face to take a photo. Now it is of course not a major change and you are not invisible all of the sudden but it’s a small change that helps stand out a little less.
Don’t believe him when he says you can’t get your hands on a x100v. It only took me about one week to get one from B&H photo. You have to call them to order over the phone but like I said I ended up getting mine about a week later and it is awesome, absolutely worth it.
It’s absolutely a great camera. I hope it came across that it was a joke when I said you can’t get your hands on it anyway. Even though it is true that in the past 6 months they were on back order everywhere. I am glad they seem to be coming back in stock now.
can the 27 2.8 be used at nighttime? I see some people saying its awesome while others assume its not great because of the 2.8. What are your thoughts, your night shots look amazing to me!
I kind of feel like most interesting things to shoot at night are lit scenes anyways. Gas stations, stores, reflections in windows. So it should be fine if you take it out in to the city I would think. But even a giant lit Ferris wheel against a dark night sky is 80% or more darkness and might be a hard thing to photograph.
I depends. If you don’t push the iso too much it can be. I use it and it does fine. I also don’t care if my photo has a little noise. But other people may not like it. If you use a tripod it’s not a problem at all.
Same sensor as the XT4. Can be pushed to 12800 ISO. While that is a bit extreme, it is a pretty good performer into the high ISO range. But, pair it with fast glass.
Depending on what you are going to use it for yes. For me it would definitely be worth it if you can get it for a decent price. Sadly, they are over priced right now.
I could NEVER buy a fuji camera with a fixed lens and pay what they think they are worth. No way. Fuji Glass is to be used. I’m still using my XT1. The rest of the time I go shoot my Film Rangefinders.
@@StevenSchulzPhoto The ONLY reason I went with fuji was of the quality of the Jpegs that mimic film. Yeah, having the versatility of being able to change lenses is definitely a key factor that did it for me and made the decision easY. And it’s a great system that offers a wide variety of lenses from Fuji, and other manufacturers, which is awesome.
Very good presentation of the x-e3/4 cameras. I choosed the x-e3 because of the better ergonomics, style and at least the better price.
Thanks, Chris
Man! this is a beautiful video. .. your combination of videography, photography and technical information is spot on!
Thank you so much for the kind feedback man. That really means a lot.
So chill bro. Loved it!
Thanks a bunch man!
Wonderful batch of images! I think a good photographer, like you, can pretty much pickup any current camera and get great shots. Well done!
Thank you so much for the kind feedback. I definitely agree if you built your skill set and trained your eye the camera you decide to use is just a preference.
I actually found a really cool brown xe3 recently and didn’t even know it existed but I love it so far
That’s awesome that it works that well for you! 🙌🏻
Thank you for the kind feedback! Yeah the xe3 was very close to perfect for me.
Yeah, once you dial it in and you make it work for yourself it works great. I love using it.
@@cashmererose1101 damn didn’t know about this. I was wondering if the xt2 does that too. Thank you for letting me know.
Cheers
Thanks for video, I was considering getting the X100V, you've put me onto other options! Thanks!
Great images! You’ve got an eye for street compositions and editing. Subscribed!
Thank you! Welcome to the team! Appreciate the support!
Nice review. Loving my X-E3. Hoping for X-E5 some day.
What are your favorite lenses for this camera, Steven? Mine are the XF 23mm F2 WR + XF 35mm F2 WR + XF 56mm F1.2 R.
i was actually going to buy the xe 3 because of your review, but i get the sony a6400 instaed with 35mm zeiss lens
pretty compact for me. but definitely i miss the fuji color haha i still can get that using my xt 10 so im okay i think. i hope the xe 5 coming out soon
@@muslihatkedua7422 that’s cool! Yeah I had the a6000 way back and loved it.
@@StevenSchulzPhoto i try the xe 4 yesterday but its not for sale, man i kind a regret buying sony lol, fuji are really fit my taste perfectly
I have an X-E3. I love this camera and won't get a new X-E camera until Fuji put the new 40-megapixel sensor into the X-E cameras. It would be so awesome if they do that.
Yeah I loved my xe3 as well. I don’t have any experience with the new sensor yet. Time will tell how good it actually is I guess.
I am glad you like the video. From what I heard the 27mm ttartisan is pretty good. I hope you enjoy it. Definitely going to make your setup smaller.
I’m thinking of getting a X-E3
I started with an X-T4, but since I built it into a video rig, I can’t easily use it for photo so I bought a 50R, which is amazing, but now I have a load of X-mount lenses I can’t use, so I’m thinking if I get an X-E3, it’ll be like a baby version of the 50R that can use my old lenses
Good luck trying to back button focus on the xe4.... whereas on the xe3 you just programme the push function of the rear dial for that. Because it has a - you know - rear dial.
wonderful videos like this are precisely why the XE4 has been on back order since last year, and that the used XE4s are going for over 1k. we need to stop talking about this camera, at least until I can finally get my hands one. cheers.
Haha I appreciate that! They are hard to get your hands on just like the x100v. I do see them slowly coming back in stock
Excellent photos, man. Nobody does colours like Fuji.
Thanks for showing your pictures, they are incredible. Could you say what lense that you used to make them?
Thank you for the kind feedback! They were shot on the Fuji 27mm f2.8 and 7Artisans 25mm f1.8
Love the vibe and the music , keep up the great content 👍
Thanks man! Stoked you do! 🙌🏻
kind of a shame they have discontinued this line. i kind of get it with the x100 and xt series being so close, but the xe4 has just kind of given me the best of both worlds. not that i need to upgrade from my xe4 anyway but its sad to think in the future if i should ever break my xe4 there will be nothing to upgrade to. probably go to an a7c or something similar at that point
Where did you get your camera rope strap? Couldn’t see a link in the description. Thanks.
Can you pls make next video about how do photographers make money pls 🙏🏻
I will put that on the list of videos to make! 👍🏻
Very nice work. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much! Thank you for watching
Thanks for the video :) I was wondering what the name of your lens hood is, for the 27mm? Many thanks!
@stevenschulzphoto thanks for your advice, I will check them out anyway, I really like the look :)
@@Kameratzas no worries 😉
I do believe the xe3 didn’t have the tilting screen which is brilliant for shooting from the hip.
You are correct the xe3 didn’t have that. A reason I really enjoy my xe4
love your pictures! What thumbgrip and strap do you own??
Thumb grip is from the x100v (Amazon) and strap as well. 😉
I’m still rocking my XT1 :)
That’s awesome!
XE4 has an external official handgrip which fits perfectly and feels awesome on the other hand XE3's contour grip makes the external official grip not so useful. I hope I can remove that grip and attach XE4's external official grip.
If I wouldn’t have a grip already I would definitely go with a grip that is perfectly fitted to the camera.
Got an xe4 and a xe3 for my lady the Fuji hype is nice but people need to do more research rather than buying a used 100v for 2k.
True! There are a lot of great Fuji cameras out there.
you will love the RX1
Nice! What kind of film simulation did you use here? I mean on the X-E3 camera
On the X-E3 I always used a Porta style film simulation. You can find it in one of my other videos if you would like to check it out more.
I have always been concerned that the E-e line would be damaged if dropped. What was the damage to you 3?
Is that just an electric tape on the model number? Kinda diggin' it
Thanks a lot for this review, it looks so good!
Philly and Bucks co. Make a great backdrop for Fujifilm photo styles.
I agree with you 💯
i‘m not a fuji shooter but still this was a pleasing video. 👍🏼
Thank you so much. I am stoked to hear that!
Beautiful images; really talented.
I really appreciate it
Hey Steven, knowing what you know now, would you still go for the XE4 or would you have got another XE3, especially as you could see no difference in image quality and preferred the ergonomics and additional function buttons of the XE3?
Hey George. So I used to lean towards the xe3 in that regards but that was until I utilized the flip screen more and more and started shooting from the hip more and now I don’t want to miss it anymore. But if the flip screen is not a big thing for me, I would lean more towards the XE3. 🤷🏼♂️
Thank you for the video, I am just about taking the same road and get an xe4 over an x100v. Which 7artisan lens is on the xe3?
I had the 25mm f1.8 on it. Great for the price. Manual focus only though.
Loved every second!! Thanks 🎉
Thank you so much! I am glad to hear that!
Unfortunately there is a global shortage of the XE4, possibly discontinued but certainly out of stock for months!
I do think there may be a new xe camera coming out soon.
I love the pacing of this video.
Thank you so much!
who makes the lens hood you have on the 27mm/xe4? That thing is slick.
It’s made by squarehood. You can look them up on instagram.
What is your suggestion lens that you can have only one for xe3?
It really depends on what you’re trying to do with it for me it would be the 27 mm F2.8.
Nice comparison! Are film simulation all the same on both X-E3 and 4?
So they are definitely similar. The xe4 has a couple of small options that the xe3 doesn’t have when it comes to creating recipes but they are almost the same.
X-E4 has Classic Neg. X-E3 doesn't.
Hey ! What is the best for film simulation and street photo ? Xe4 or wt4 ? Thx!
When it comes to camera I really enjoy the xe4. For film simulations I like the Portra style simulation from fujiweekly.com. I personally also use one I created myself.
wat square lens hood is that on the 27mm? looks great!
glad to see they got rid of the body grip as u can always jus buy one. now its looking retro
It’s from the company squarehood (you can look them up on Instagram) and is specifically designed for the Fuji 27 mm and 2.8 but of course it can be used on any lens with a 39 mm filter threat.
I just bought x100v.
built-in ND filters and flash and leaf shutter...
The built in ND is definitely something a game changer! That definitely is a great option to have!
What small 3rd party lenses can you recommend?
So it depends if you like a wider field of view or tighter… and also if you want autofocus or not. I have used the 7Artisans 25mm f1.8 which was great and for $75 you can’t go wrong with it. I also heard that ttartisans has a 27mm f2.8 with autofocus for around $150 which is compact and decent.
@@StevenSchulzPhoto I am most comfortable with manual focus 50mm equivalent (35mm apsc) lens. Maybe ttartisan 35mm f1.4 or kipon iberit 35mm f2.4? XE-4 is my favorite
Thanks for this. Just got the x-e4 cause I couldn’t get an x100v 😅
It’s a great camera! I love it and I am definitely not upset I got it over the x100v!
@@StevenSchulzPhoto your photos look incredible. Do you have a preferred film recipe?
@@studiodsr I do like to use a portra recipe because that’s gonna give me an idea what the end photo potentially could look like
What is the brand of your square lens hood? It looks very nice!
It’s called squarehood. You can find them on instagram
Hey Steven, Wot a lovely beautiful & informative video. I’m thinking of buying an XE-3, or 4 and if I can achieve something of the quality of your images, (not the same, ofc), in their colour, I’ll be very happy. Thanks mate. (Hv Sub’d)
Thank you for the kind feedback! I really appreciate that. Both cameras are great. Can’t really go wrong with any of them.
I have xe3 and xe1 for me the bests of X series
What’s your experience using the X-E3 at night? I’ve been trying to shoot with it here in Philadelphia but I find it hard to get quality sharp images compared to my X-T4 or even my X-T2
So in my experience, it did pretty well now it does depends on your settings, of course. I also commit to a ISO lower than 1250. And it was working pretty well for me as long as the situation you are shooting is decently lit.
@@StevenSchulzPhoto Got it, thanks! Also will try slowing down a little to see if that helps.
What is a good lenses to get with this camera for travel photography? Thanks 🙏🏾
So I have the Fujifilm 27mm F2.8. On this camera, and it is pretty versatile grade for all kinds of things and it keeps the profile of the camera pretty small. Are you looking for a fixed focal length or do you want to be able to zoom?
What film simulations do you usually use? Especially the first xe4 ones
So I use a portra like recipe just to get a rough idea on what the photo could look like. I do shoot raw and jpg and edit my raw files afterwards in Lightroom.
Unfortunately, it has been confirmed by Fuji that the XE-4 is discontinued…
Oh wow I didn’t know that!
@@StevenSchulzPhoto Yes! My pre-order was cancelled and was informed of that. Now it is the time to be patient and see if a X-E5 will come out soon 🤞🤞🤞
@@Mingkai12 I hope they do
U take really good photos mate!
I really appreciate that mate! 🙏🏻🙌🏻
I have the XE4 with the 27mm2.8 .. but i was wondering which lenses would you suggest for personal daily photos/short clips?
27mm on an aps-c is excellent for daily use.
@@EwanLim true
OR you could get the Sigma 18-50mm zoom lens for the X-Mount.
@@EwanLim 👍🏻
Are the photos at 3:00 taken straight from the camera, or were they post processed?
They are all edited raw files

It is. I got the lens hood from squarehood. You can look them up on instagram
What lens were you using with the xe-3 example photos
That spit be the 7Artisans 25mm f1.8
Do you see an xe5 in the horizon?
I haven’t heard any official announcements but I do think the chances are really good that an x-e5 or similar will be coming soon
i want the xe-4 but cant find it anywhere right now
I’m sorry to hear that and you are right they are starting to sell out everywhere as well and are on back order in a lot of places. I would recommend searching your local camera stores because that’s how I found mine.
May I ask why the names of the camera's on the from have been taped over?
Is this just a personal thing ?
It’s to not make the white writing stand out so much. It’s less noticeable when you hood the camera up to your face to take a photo. Now it is of course not a major change and you are not invisible all of the sudden but it’s a small change that helps stand out a little less.
I just bought an xe2s!
Have fun
what lens do you have on both?
One the xe4 I have the Fuji 27mm F2.8. And on the xe3 the 25mm f1.8 from 7Artisans

Which lenses are you using for both?
On the xe3 I used the 25mm f1.8 from 7Artisans and on the xe4 the 27mm f2.8 from Fujifilm

Sticked?
can the 27 2.8 be used at nighttime? I see some people saying its awesome while others assume its not great because of the 2.8. What are your thoughts, your night shots look amazing to me!
You can use them for night shots. You definitely have to look for pretty well lid situations though. But it is possible
@@OttosTheName 👍🏻
Is that x-e4 good for night time photo?
Any difference on autofocus between Xe3 vs Xe4? Thanks Good Video
Thank you! I have to say not noticeable to be honest.
XE4 has faster and more reliable AF (with boost mode On)
@@toletony thanks for sharing
In 2023, is xe3 still worth buying?
Depending on what you are going to use it for yes. For me it would definitely be worth it if you can get it for a decent price. Sadly, they are over priced right now.
Can the xe3 and xe4 shoot portra 400. Thanks
Are they both weather proof like the x100v
the xe3 and xe4 are both not weather proof
I could NEVER buy a fuji camera with a fixed lens and pay what they think they are worth. No way. Fuji Glass is to be used. I’m still using my XT1. The rest of the time I go shoot my Film Rangefinders.
Love that the XT1 still works for you. That’s awesome
@@StevenSchulzPhoto The ONLY reason I went with fuji was of the quality of the Jpegs that mimic film. I guess you can say that. Definitely not as high quality built but if you only take looks then I agree with you.
@@StevenSchulzPhoto Oh yeah! in terms of quality it certainly isn't there, it would need a bit more work. Are the Qs made of brass as well?
I have not held the Q or done much research on it but everyone I know that has it says it’s built is solid.
