My xe4 arrived today and I am super stoked to have it! The first thing that struck me when I took it out of the box was wow it’s SMALL!! I mean, it’s tiny!! What a rad, solid little camera!

@@psimmy73 I just watched eBay like a hawk and one day I got a notification for 2 that came up-one black, one silver, for damn near retail price. I IMMEDIATELY verified it was brand new and snagged the black one. By the time I bought it, the silver one was gone too. Got pretty lucky but I’d just keep a keen eye in eBay. That said, truthfully I think the Xs10 is a VERY good alternative and they’re really almost as small as the Xe4
I rented both an 100v and an XE4 and got the XE4. I was looking for something I could conceal in my pocket (I do urban photography solo at night). The XE4 aligned more with my taste/style for shooting. The 100v is actually in one of my least favorite lengths. Final deciding factor was that I was able to get the XE4 immediately and, because it was used, I got two lenses and the body for the same price as a 100v
Yeah I agree! You can get great value buying the XE4 as a bundle from someone else! I also got 2 lenses and the body with the xe4 and was still below of the current costs of the x100v!

Really debating getting this camera but curious to see how it does with astrophotography. If anyone has any shots with it let me know. If not I might have to just buy it and find out for myself. Either way the x100v has been on my list to get for a long time

I’ve owned both , I’ve owned the v 3 times lol . The xe4 is solid and a great looking camera , tiny but man that shutter is loud as hell . It got to the point I couldn’t take it anymore and bought the v for the 3rd time . If the xe4 had the same shutter noise as the xt5 or xt4 I may still have it .
I agree! It is very loud. When I first got my x100v I thought there was something wrong with it because the shutter was so quiet haha. Then I got the xt5 and the shutter is very quiet too. It’s a very beautiful sound actually haha
@@filmbox3957 yeah xt5 is super quite and I gotta be honest with you I’ve been low key gassing for one but I gotta chill . I have a Sony a7iv and really don’t need it . I just love new things lol . I’m really curious if they are gonna change the screen for the new xpro 🤔

Hi! Thank you so much for watching! This was a mixture of portra 400 v2, ektar 100 and raw files just edited to my liking. For both simulations I like to also edit on LR by increasing the vibrance and warming up the photo a bit more. Hope that helps!

Hi! Thanks for watching! I like to use the fujixweekly Portra 400 v2 sim but i adjust it on LR ato increase vibrance and take away the green tones that sometimes overpower the images. As far as the strap, check the link in my Instagram bio, it will have a direct link there to it!

XE4 is the deal. Only thing you missed is that the XE4 isn't weather sealed like the X100V
Good point! Totally forgot to mention the weather sealing. Just not too familiar with it because I never really shoot during those conditions but I see it is important to many photographers! Thank you for watching!
So I'm an X100 shooter since 2014. I occasionally watch these X100 vs whatever videos and, like in this case, quite often what makes these cameras different from nearly EVERY modern camera is never mentioned. It's the leaf shutter. Having a leaf shutter makes this camera do things with flash you CANNOT do with focal plane shutters like most other cameras have. Wasn't even mentioned in this video. Also, my vote for best alternative to the X100v is any previous version of the X100 series. Otherwise, in my opinion, it's apples v oranges.
Thank you for feedback! I did miss talking about the leaf shutter. I’m just not too familiar with sync speeds and all since I never use flash but thank you for bringing it up. I also forgot to mention the customization menu being better on the XE4. But hopefully someone else has covered those things in their video for the help of others!

Either the 16mm f/1.4 or 23mm f/1.4 would sit quite comfortably on the X-E4 with the thumb rest addition you attached here. Having owned both the X-E4 and original X100 there is no doubt in my mind that the fixed lens option is more about style than substance. Does anyone really use the optical viewfinder? It's a gimmick.
Those two are great lens choices! I bought my XE4 with the 16mm 1.4 and was my first time using a wider angle lens on it and I enjoyed it! So the freedom to change lenses on that camera is great! And yeah I thought the optical viewfinder would be something I would use more often but I forget the option is even there. Thank you so much for watching and your feedback!

X100v is still super hard to find and very expensive…the x-e4 is now the same.
May I suggest the XT5 for that same money! Totally worth it!

My friend got lucky and got one from KEH but I did have trouble getting the x100v. Had to check online stores to see who had it in stock and when they did they were gone very fast! The xe4 is a bit easier to get specially used!

Pick the X100V. My Fujifilm cameras are 6 years old and dying, all the tik tok trenders are pumping up the price with their muddy green aesthetic and calling it film, when you could get the same result with literally any camera, in-camera.
I ended up selling the x100v to get all the money for it and kept the xt5 and XE4! Haha
Cons of this camera…. The hype.

Because it drives the price up from it's original retail price. Pretty big con for me, having to pay extra just because a lot of people want the same camera.

The price of used cameras due to economics is not a ‘con’ for the camera 🤓
