    I remember crying for days when I was a schoolgirl and Gabriel left. I thought the band would end. Well it didn't of course, and I like Collins too - but Gabriel was always my childhood hero:)

    Splendid! Peter was 20 years ahead of his time. His vocal range is outstanding, his mis-en-scene brilliant. The perfect frontman. It´s a pity we no longer have such innovative craftsmen like Genesis.

    Peter Gabriel changed the face of music...His stage presence changed things into performance music....He made David Bowie sit back..I love this stuff..Peter was amazing

    Yeah I agree. I listen to Phil Collins era Genesis too, but the Peter Gabriel era is just amazing! He's probably one of the strangest, and most talented, musicians ever. It's art, beautiful beautiful art.

    I’m 60 now . I was a Huge prog rock fan , this is one of my favourites.. it reminds me of the juke box in a village pub (England ) and a lad I knew who passed in a motorbike crash . I feel like this is my funeral song because I know what I like and i like what I know ❤

    This was the best group for me at that time. They still live on me to the point that here was I looking for them. You can still see Phil Collins in the drums before Peter Gabriel went solo. The album Selling England by the Pound, were this song comes from is a piece of art. I can´t never forget the good times I had in Rio de Janeiro together with my great group of friends, always listening to Genesis...man!!! What great times those were...

    Brilliant! What a band they were back then Phil's drumming and mike bass playing were fantastic, and Peter, what a show man! Its also hard to beleive that they were all about 19 / 20 years old on this clip.

    Phil Collins is every bit as genius as Peter Gabriel. 1/8 of either of them is 5000 times more than anything that is being marketed as music these days. Phil is also one of the most under rated drummers. Seen them in concert in 76' (after Gabriel) and it was one of the best concerts I ever went to.

    The great part about this song is how easily they describe how boring suburban English life is and the part where he pretends to be a lawnmower is genius it doesn't matter when other people call you a fool because they don't have the courage to step into the stage and try out new things.

    My first job was as a computer programmer for S.W. Farmer in Lewisham, London , the Mr Farmer referred to... at one time they did indeed make fire escapes as they were a steel company and the painted brick wall advertisment that could be seen from the train caught the eye of Genesis...sadly Famers went bust 25 years ago ...

    It took me a while to get into this song but once I got into it, I never grew bored with it. It makes me smile every time I listen to it, regardless of whether it was sung by Peter or Phil. Classic Genesis!

    Genesis is eternal. I have seen this video hundreds of times since 2009-2010 and it still gives me chills. Sadly Phil Collins is a little bit sick and he is now singing on wheelchair. They are in their mid 70's now but their music will persist the pass of time
