Emirates Flight 521 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Thiruvananthapuram, India, to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, operated by Emirates using a Boeing 777-300 on 3rd August 2016. - Игры
Poor fireman died to save those people’s lives I hope he got a badge of bravery, heroism or honour at his funeral
In UAE no one would care actually pretty sad
@@anierutanbalaji3836 that's not true. Anyone would care
Nobel peace prize
@@eventusvantos2770 You don't know UAE then. See how they treat NRI's there
@@devintariel3769 you're the one that doesn't know. They treat them well
The exterior realism is incredible, and the scenery makes it look beautiful
Very unfair how the firefighter dies though :(
tsei pixel, what are you doing here?
Btw this is blade
That's showing that there are no guarantees in life. Showing that life in itself is unfair.
tsei Opposed to it being fair if a passenger died?
The firefighter was brave enough to go in and attempt to save them, a normal passenger might not do that. I'm not saying the passengers should've died at all! I'm just saying the firefighter died while fulfilling his heroic intentions.
tsei yeah, but thats the risk you run being a firefighter, its sad but true
Were those people taking their luggage instead of evacuating inmediately? Srsly?
It's in the safely briefing because when people are panicked they try to unbuckle it like a car seat belt.
María yes, yes they were
Must be a new way of evacuating an aircraft, use your bag as a mat on the slide. Totally insane. Unfortunately aircraft travel has become too easy, sometimes like playing a game. It's only when you're going to be fried flesh does reality kick in. By then, you're usually a goner. Simple way would be to put flight crew controlled locks on the overheads - locked on approach, released when you get to the terminal and stopped.
Me_irl
Complete idiocy.
I sit here thinking Thiruvananthapuram is a weird sounding name for a city...then I think there’s someone in India thinking the same thing about Tennessee
lmao! great comment!
It's a south Indian city. South Indian people also have very long names. Go farther north and the names become shorter and easier.
It appears that you haven't travel much out of the USA. Take some trip to place like India or any exotic place, and you will never do any foolish comment about the name of a city.
Jesse Hoch I’m from Thiruvananthapuram and yeah, it’s a long name. We find Massachusetts pretty complex 😁 I’ve heard people pronouncing it as ‘ma-shove-shats‘ .
Lol yeah when the British came to India they couldn't pronounce half the names, so they changed them. They made Thiruvananthapuram into "Trivandrum"
the plane should be able to lock the luggage in case of emergency
i bims yea
That's illegal
Bob Coleman nope
That's quite a stupid idea
I strongly agree. The plane’s on fire and your going to get your stuff?
Some day this type of selfish behavior is going to get people killed.
Just subbed to you last week and been binge watching your vids, was not expecting a new upload this soon! Love yere vids and reading about the info presented.
Another video channel I am 'hooked' on! I definitely found it easier to read this one. Thanks for the work you put in to making these videos.
The flight crew misunderstood the auto throttle operation and did not realise that they needed to manually advance the throttles during the go-around procedure following initial landing gear compression. Consequently the aircraft initially climbed due to the residual airspeed which rapidly decayed and the aircraft descended onto the runway. Summary: inadequate pilot training, the experienced expat F/O was probably blamed and sacked, whilst the local Captain was exonerated and probably promoted to chief pilot.
Roy T Exactly!
Never fly Emirates. They don't train pilots well
@@warzonemoments3970 but they never had any plane crashes except this, but i might be wrong
It seems that posters in the know all have the same opinion of emerites air line. If what they are all saying is true then there will be a day of reckoning for that company. And the bill come due will be paid, as always, by the poor unsuspecting masses.
Excellent video all round! 👏 Keep getting better...!👍
The Captain had roughly half the flying hours as his F.O. Also, they were near the same age, as in, both relatively young. Isn’t that a bit unusual? Not saying it had anything to do with this dreadful accident, but it did catch my attention. Also, in the event of such an emergency, don’t stop to get your stuff! People behind you may die.
Condolences to the family of the firefighter who lost his life.
Excellent video!
He could of applied for duct entry pliot
That firefighter sure looked familiar... Come to think of it... It was... You.
Well, after all, I was a Volunteer Firefighter/First Responder for 9 years. Can’t say I ever lost my life, though. Nope, I checked, and I still have it. My eternal life is secured, too, because of what Jesus Christ did for us all.
@@gomphrena-beautifulflower-8043 *FAKE* dying on a cross accomplishes something? Laughable. God likes S&M drama?
Robert Gift • Robert, there is so much to the reality of Jesus’ dying for us! At the time, the world was full of sin (just as it is today) and God decided there was only One Way to put before His creation to choose eternal salvation, and that was to send Jesus Christ to earth, to end the usual sacrifices once and for all. Jesus, fully human and fully God, came to earth for this special purpose!
Not S & M: Jesus DID suffer as a mortal man as planned; He took on all the sin of the world when He was nailed to that cross. God is holy so He could not look upon sin. When He died and was buried in a borrowed tomb, something amazing happened. He arose from the dead, and He lives now at the right hand of God the Father!
Amazing? You bet! Our Way to eternal life has been signed, sealed and delivered by the shedding of the Lord Himself’s blood. Eternal life is ours, just for the asking!
It’s all in the Bible. Plus more. All you have to do is earnestly repent of your sins, and ask that Jesus come into and be Lord of your life. It’s that simple. Get you a Bible and start with the Gospel of John in the New Testament. That will tell you who Jesus is, though all 66 books in the Bible point to Him in some way.
Robert, it had to be this way. The Lord Himself consecrated Himself so that mankind would have its sin atoned for, once and for all! And His kingship is available to all who sincerely are sick and tired of their way of life. It’s available to all.
Love the new style! Great video!
Your videos are well made and organized. Great job.
The new font is great and just want to congrat you for having about 40k few days ago :)
X Pilot and just recently hit 51k today including me. Keep up the great work. Your channel will have millions of subs one day. No doubt about it.
Click immediately when I saw this one, fantastic job as always!
Planes are amazing. And this channel is amazing.
A Boeing 777-300ER is my favorite plane. Thank for this video, I love it
We will be supporting, keep going please :)
Ooooh New Font!!!
Your So Amazing!!!
Excellent as always. Like font. Passengers not just leaving - no!
This pilot also forgot something simple... that during a go around you should not retract landing gear until you have a positive climb rate
How can a popular airliner have such a dumb pilot. Do they not train or monitor this?
They got a positive rate indication because of the amount of lift they still had in the wings due to the wind changing to headwind. It actually touched down then started to climb then retracted the gear. They forgot the TOGA button which should be the first thing to do to apply thrust.
@@tonythomas8360 Forget TOGA, simply firewall T/L, maintain pitch, flaps 20, TOGA can come later
@@jens-joachimvonbandemer1981 Either would have worked if they followed the correct go around sequence. Thrust always comes first in a go around.
I like the new font. It's solid and forward.
These videos are very intriguing. Ik it’s sad that some people Ofc have died in some crashes but I like this channel.
thank you so muchh for making this video............. i wanted to request you for this
Iam happy everyone got a hold of there luggage☺☺
Thank you again for not playing the sappy sad music!
I love the new font and the new naming system!
I by far prefer the old font--all-caps text is significantly harder to read because there's less letterform variation, and the strong black outline on the old font provided more contrast than the shadow here.
That said, always great content!
@@XPilotYT hi xp why u not uploading m8 we r all waiting
I was about to get a flight to Dubai to go to Shanghai from Newcastle that day and this incident delayed my flight by 4 hours. I remember landing at Dubai and seeing the burnt out plane to the side of the runway. We ended up missing our connected flight because of the delay and this whole day was just a major nightmare. Glad all passengers survived though.
Thank you x pilot
cool video!
I have always put you above the others with your content, but please do not capitalise the text.
The black background is very welcome, but when there is a lot of information/text to read, it is difficult to read capitalised.
Great stuff as always
When the pilot touched down thrust went to idle , when he pulled the nose up thrust was still on idle , by the time he noticed and applied thrust aircraft had already stalled
And if with the position of thrust everything was OK, there could be that it was not enough power to lift the plane, it could be overloaded (fuel, baggage)
It’s amazing all passengers survived!
Also I love the new text font! Please keep it.
Especially because all those assholes wanted to get their shit, and risk the lives of the people behind them.
Especially with them blocking the aisle trying to get their bags. Crazy!
The 777's throttles spool up extremely slow when hitting TOGA for a go around. That is probably a huge factor in this.
Nice vid. What edit software do you use?
X pilot is the show!
They hit the "to go around switch" which configures the aircraft for a go around (including full throttles) but because they bounced it down the runway the aircraft thought it was still on the ground and did not apply power. Computer is programmed this was in case of accidental activation of TOGA on the ground. Accident was pilot error. They expected full power would be provided for them but neither pilot confirmed the had full throttle. Probably not enough flight time in more basic aircraft.
I've never seen so many people talk about font on an airplane crash reenactment. Thank you for the video, I appreciate them. 💙
When this accident took place?
I think the old font was way better. Without the black borders it makes it harder to read, and the shadow effect this new font has is weird
I watched the winds almost every day for 8 years there in Dubai. The slight offshore morning wind 5kts turns into an onshore gale ...starting at the beach and slowly moving inland over about an hour to get to the airport.(in the afternoon).
It's a sea-breeze convection system that can be calm one place and very windy 20kts 100m away....You can watch it coming towards you. Its like a flat rolled up carpet of strong winds starting at the beach.
I see that they landed onto the shore and over the beach...so there would be a very sudden onshore wind behind them (increase throttles to stop sinking) ..then closer in no wind at all ( overshooting now). Which kind of figures just what was going on. The airport wind-speed indicators would show a few kts.. offshore...but over the finals it could have been 20kts in the other direction . They seemed to have been cleared for this downwind landing and just panicked . A warning of 'wind shear' is not enough I would submit either. Its a dangerous and powerful sea breeze at 43C. and ATC must say its there as it is almost every day.
would be cool if you did the PSA crash at San Diego Intl.... your vids are pretty neat!
WOW this looks awesome keep this font please
I prefer the older font... this font is still great but I like the older one better for this kind of video’s... Nice video! 👍
old font was nicer to read surprisingly
90% of all crashes now seem to cluster in the mid/far east. I'll just drive, thanks.
Update! Investigation now to be completed in 2119.
Very nice video
Could be possible that the wind had an influence with the go-around. It also sounds as though they might have made a panicked decision. I wonder how much runway they had left. Also to those questioning the First Officer having more hours, it is possible that he was originally a captain but changed companies. Doing so often results in demotion, unfortunately, which is why many pilots stay with one company for their entire career.
The impact sound effect looks familiar with Allec Joshua lbay.
How many times I will tell you captains? Put the gear up when in POSITIVE RATE
Very nice made! Some music would be handy though.
What software is used to make these videos? I can only imagine it’s windows flight simulator but I don’t know for sure
Really happy that all passengers survived! 😥
1 firefighter tried to help died
So close to 80k!
Just so I can correct you, the Boeing International HQ is situated in Chicago. The huge plane warehouse is in Seattle.
An empty Boeing office is in Chicago so as to get a massive tax break. These days corporation do not pay taxes, only middle and lower class people do, and lower class don't have much to give.
You should do the 2006 Dover C-5 crash (4059) and the 1998 Diego Garcia C-5 approach stall and inverted flight. Both are really interesting with the Diego Garcia stall recovery a great example of a copilot knowing her aircraft......
Boeing are headquartered in Chicago, not Seattle, just two of their assembly bases are near Seattle at Everett and Renton
Hey There !!!! On which flight simulator you peformed this demonstration
I’m a little confused. You can’t do TOGA if you’ve “already landed”? What does the MDA mean for a go around?
thank god everyone on board was safe
Great video as always. There is one correction however. Boeing's headquarters are in Chicago, not Seattle.
Yes, however, originally the headquarters were in Seattle. But correct, the headquarters are now in Chicago. There are still Boeing locations in Washington.
Which software did you use for editing?
The final report was released on February 6th, 2020.[30][1] In the report, the following was noted in the causes section:
The flight crew did not effectively scan and monitor the primary flight instrumentation parameters during the landing and the attempted go-around. The flight crew were unaware that the autothrottle (A/T) had not responded to move the engine thrust levers to the TO/GA position after the Commander pushed the TO/GA switch at the initiation of the FCOM ̶ Go-around and Missed Approach Procedure
I am originally from london and i was on a visit to dubai , i was going to leave on 11th Aughust and thst crash was on the 3rd . That was scary but emerates fixed it all up and we had one of ghe best flights
I would consider adding a dark, semi-transparent overlay at the bottom of the video, spanning the entire width. This would allow the text to be more readable IMO. As for the font, ALL CAPS are OK for headlines, but not for content. The previous font was fine.
The new safety protocol on a crash landing is: pull out your cellphone and start filming and then grab your precious luggage
😂😂😂😂
Why would they pull the gear up so low?is that normal for go around or takeoffs in general?i I feel it would be a lot less aggressive if the gears were down still
sorry for the fire man, thanks god that the passengers cameout safe
Seems like the pilots committed a fundamental mistake by not applying TOGA power on the initial go-around call-out, and the aircraft proceeded to stall due to the lack of airspeed. The tailwind might have contributed to the crash due to auto-throttle. The last second change of wind direction upon landing might have pulled back the throttles automatically before the captain took manual control, and it seems like it remained unchanged throughout the duration of the landing. It was too late when the pilots realized their mistake and applied full power.
That's a nice recreation of what occurred, nice job! It really gives context on what happened leading up to the crash.
What do you use to record these?
Well there goes the pilots careers.
Jeez 48*celsius! Thats hot!!
I was there for this crash in Dubai on another Emirates Flight... saw the plane on the runway in smoke and the emergency crew there. On my way to Sri Lanka.
Really enjoying these reconstructions and analyses, thank you. It's sobering how a poor split-second judgement can spell disaster. How unusual is such a dramatic change in wind velocity? Does Dubai's geography make such conditions more likely?
Yes
We have reached a point in aviation where mechanical errors are almost eliminated and all major widebody hull losses have been from missiles, suicide, pilot error, weather, etc and even the ones that went bad (Asiana, this flight, that British Airways 777) the vast majority of people survive.
R.I.P firedighter that tried to help them
I like the new font, but would you consider using lower case lettering as well? All caps is difficult to read.
Is it? Do you have some sort of visual impairment?
@RedRose7997 not trying to be rude, I'm just saying that I personally have never had even a slight issue with any of the lettering in any one of his videos
captain's name unpublished, but FO's published? weird
I don't understand why the nose wouldn't go down? Yes there was a headwind, but were the brakes not working? Were they pushing forward on the yoke? Was the plane not naturally slowing down at this point? I have a lot of questions.... it feels a stretch to imagine attempting a go-around was the best option....
Editing software?
You HAVE to do one on the Alaska Airlines hijack a few weeks ago...
Inside job?
new font but I like the old font a lot though
I remember this.. happened the day before I landed in Dubai. The whole airport was manic
What sim is this xplane or p3d or Microsoft flight simulator
[*] for this firefighter 😓
Were the spoilers deployed? Don't they "spoil" lift by blocking air rushing over the top of the wings? Don't they deploy automatically upon landing? What if they failed or were not deployed at all?
So they didn't throttle up as soon as they decided to abort the landing?
the new font is hard to read, please switch back.
Wow I can’t believe how short ago this happened
Plane crashes. Fireman dies but only thing passengers bothered to care is their luggage. Plane crashes, somebody makes video about it and everybody bothered about the font.
Life is weird.
could ground effect turbulence have something to do with it... we are talking really high temperature here so I am guessing the dark runway would have produced quite an updraft, especially in convection high-spots.
Curious as to why he couldn't get the nose to go down.
I'm not a pilot, but isn't the first thing you do on a missed approach is apply full power??? That makes sense to me, you are losing speed in a landing and you need to gain speed rapidly to pull up/gain altitude so the plane doesn't stall.
From the video, it looked like he didn't do that, that he waited before he applied full power and by then it was too late(jet engines take time to spool up), he was going too slow and stalled the plane.
When the wind switched to a head wind, the wings started generating more lift. So, the rate of decent changed. In other words, he "caught a floater." What I don't understand is, when the pilot calls "Go around", thought there was a button on the yoke labeled "G/A". When you press it, the throttles go to take-off setting, when the weight on wheels (WoW) switch opens, the gear automatically comes up, and the flaps track on speed. Sounds like this may not have happened. I don't know. I wasn't there and that button may not exist on a 777. Another consideration is they came off of a long trip from India. So, they may have been fatigued. Many questions.
Video length is 7:47
Yup
it should have been 7:77. It seems it was cut short.
;)
@@leechurchill1965 it would thrn have to be 8:17 minutes
Emirates has 747-8is.
If they kept braking and applying reverse thrust and maybe spoilers, how likely is it that the nose gear would've dropped down and the plane stop?
They waited too long to apply thrust - stalled it. Came in too slow and too shallow. That's my speculative guess. They should have been applying more throttle right when ATC said 'clear straight ahead' -- all it takes is just one second of distraction in that situation for a pilot to make a mistake. They were probably checking to see where another plane might be so they wouldn't collide with it instead of punching it to climb out from the stall they were in.
Your thoughts would be 'why is he telling me I'm clear straight ahead? Is there something in my way to the right or left?'
arn't you also not supposed to retract the landing gear until your at a positive rate of climb?
Raoul Duke true
Aren't most landing strips designed so if you go long or short you don't kill everyone?
Jyggalag wym
Jyggalag are you taking about like after the runway ends ?
2019 is almost over. I wonder if the report is out
Must be nice to be able to grab your carry on while smoke and flames are infiltrating the fuselage
New font is sooo much better
What about the first flight you showed?
what is the name of the flight simulator out of curiosity?
