Making Che call out Kendrick is absolutely diabolical
Che's reaction was sooooo good
@@stepinfetchit9394What a wild way to say absolutely nothing.
@@stepinfetchit9394 i think your point is that you're irrelevant
@@BlkFreakozoid Actually an impressive feat by them, because they typed a LOT of words while simultaneously saying absolutely nothing. Crazy!
@@BlkFreakozoid that's not true, it was a way to tell people he isn't willing to learn, and to express his falsity that jokes should only be for ignorants like them even if it comes from a segment called 'weekend update' which would obviously be about releveant news items.
The absolute pain in Michael Che's voice saying all those things about Kendrick Lamar is priceless
It went up an octave or two 😂
K needs to release a mock serious diss track in response.
As soon as the words got out, I felt Che was already thinking of next year’s finale!! 😂😂
Specially when he said "Noooo..."
@@candimccannwhat you know about K?
I've said it before and I say it again: Joke swap is the best thing to ever happen to SNL since ever.
because the writers are so bad that just bypassing them produces magic
It really is a glorious thing... It's true comedy at its core
This is the only part of SNL I ever make an effort to seek out and watch anymore
Absolutely!
thats because all the jokes get a pass to be offensive
Che immediately saying "NO" in horror after calling out Lamar was priceless and the highlight of the SEASON! 🤣
That little eye dart to Colin was such genuine fear of what was coming
Che looked genuinely horrified and shook dissing Kendrick.
"I did not like that one bit"
Colin finally won the game after all this time, and did it brutally
Kendrick releasing "Meet the Ches" in 20 minutes
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Underrated comment
👏👏👏
But he needs to... and if he does it right it will be hilarious.
😂😂😂😂 biggest nightmare in life
“He’s REALLY Not Like Us” 😂
The genuine fear Che had on his face for the Kendrick Lamar joke.
Who's Kendrick Lamar and what's the joke?
@@riskybusiness3413 have you been living under a rock?
@@riskybusiness3413I'm only vaguely aware of anything that happens in the rap world, so the fact that I know who Kendrick Lamar is is a damn good sign he's super famous. From what I know he's highly renowned for his lyricism (Eminem brought him in and actually made him write some lyrics in the studio as a test because he was skeptical that Lamar was actually that good), and has had beefs with other rappers.
So the joke here would be that Che is (being tricked into) starting a verbal war with one of the best writers in modern music, one he is completely incapable of winning.
@@mychannel-bu6jx
Billions of people, have no care for any of that nonsense.
@@mychannel-bu6jx i wish i were... because that had to be the weakest rap beef in history..
Che: I didn't like that one bit!"
Colin: * *maniacal laugh* *
3:55
He was quite amused with himself 😈😅
The absolute fear in Che's eyes the moment he read "Kendrick Lamar" was absolute gold
"Noooo!!"
Che was legit shaking on that joke.
It took Colin Jost years to finally break Che.
Colin has been playing it safe on the joke for yrs but Michael che don't give a fuck. Man just comes out guns blazing.
He also got him last year with the middle east stuff.
He had a good one about blue lives matter a few years ago
He wrote a great one about Jeffrey Epstein but Che fumbled the punchline, "rest in power King, I'll take it from here,"
GO TRUMP 🇺🇸 AMERICA NEEDS HELP look at our border😮 who's all in our country😢EVERYONE we hear about it wow every country's in our country NOW WHERE DID AMERICA GO. What was is not now
The next season needs to start with Kendrick and Scarlett doing a "joke swap" where they just destroy Che and Colin
YES!
100%
Great idea, I hope they see this.🤣
😂😂😂😂
That would be golden!!!!
“If you’re here, who’s controlling the weather?” absolutely finished me
2:52
I die laughing every time even though I know it's coming
Quit liking and replying to bots
Yeo this was the best one no doubt😂😂😂
I didn't get it
The setup of having Che texting middle schoolers then the KDot beef joke is amazing and brutal. I haven’t laughed so hard in a while.
Colin really got Che on this one. That Kendrick Lamar joke had me howling.
That was revenge for the Christmas one with the woman who was supposedly a civil rights activist and poet.
Never seen Che so embarrassed on one of these. Colin finally got him equally.
As someone who hasn't been following the Kendrick (and Drake?) feud, I was very confused by how well that joke landed with the audience and in the comments here.
@@blipmachine I didn't get it or hear what he was saying
Yes! You could see it in Che. He was struggling to get those words out. I take it he’s obsessed with Kendrick.
Colin [in his mind] "Oh, you're going to write a joke about my wife, now you're in a beef with Kendrick Lamar. Happy summer coworker!"
I can picture the tweets from Kendrick fans rolling in 😂😂
@@ramirezproductions0826Che is known for not doing social media, so he won’t care
the absolute full-body panic when he saw kendrick's name 😂
@@dietotaku I legit have never seen him react that much during any of these. He really had a look of terror on his face.
Deserved.
Michael Che had the cadence of a hostage reading a note in a video when he read the Kendrick jokes
After what Kendrick did to Drake I don’t blame Che.
lol, good insight. we should check his blinks to see if they were a message in Morse code.
Colin's smug look after Che read the Kendrick line had me DEAD. 😂😂
That Scarlett Johansson joke was BRUTAL
But funny AF!
Which made Jost's revenge joke hit funnier as a counter.
They always are.
IDK, the whole point of her being the voice actor in "Her" is that her voice is so hot. So it's really difficult for her or Jost to take offense about this particular joke IMO.
but true. 😂
Colin was so proud of himself with that Kendrick Lamar joke
And rightly so!
That is the look of pure satisfaction few men will ever feel in their lifetime. You just know he's thinking "TWICE you made me go after MLK. Enjoy!"
He finally got him after all these years of Che dominating these joke swaps
As he should, it was genius.
The pure terror in Che's eyes when he saw "Kendrick Lamar" was priceless.
I watched it 4 times and it was better each time. The head shaking and saying no made it even funnier.
Hearing Che admit Colin got him with that "Ahh that one was pretty well done, man" was years in the making
The most underrated part of these skits is Che and Jost’s reaction to seeing the cue cards and graphics for the first time
Agreed! I've often said this myself; their expressions are priceless!
The most underrated? I feel like it's one of the most visible and talked about parts lol
(I love SNL and weekend update so this isn't a "SNL isn't funny anymore" comment. Just disagree about it being underrated)
@@Waldo2929 Yeah, that's the main draw. OP is an idiot.
Enough with the ridiculous and embarrassing "underrated" comments. "Underrated" is what idiots say who think everyone should think the same things are funny that they think. Just because you liked it more than others doesnt make it better or worse, genius. smh. This is no such thing as over rated or underrated for personal preference or tastes. FFS, retire that cliche line and say something not only original, but that isnt something you keep hearing 10 yr olds say for the last 15 years.
“Underrated”? Seriously? That’s the entire bit here.
Colin finally figured out what this segment is really about
Getting each other killed. lol
🤣last time he played with it more but this time, yes, he really didn't hold back
This was definitely Colin’s most savage one. But I don’t know. Last time got Che to tell Muslims and Jews that “y’all need Jesus!”
@@lizardquinnI forgot about that. That was hilarious
Exactly. Playing dirty.
The real genius in the Kendrick Lamar callout was setting it up with the predator jokes ahead of time 😂
1:58
“SPEAKING OF KIDS!”
What a great way to change the subject 😂😂😂
Best move EVER by Colin - Che calling out Kendrick 💀
This may have been better than the y'all need Jesus joke.
I would love it so much if next season they invited Kendrick on to be a guest and had him mock attack Che for his news report. Would be hilarious (if Kendrick has a sense of humor and would be willing to play along). X)
@@xzonia1His temperament is bi polar by his own words lol
The audience was too scared to laugh at the puppet joke. 😂😂😂
true
*I* was too scared to laugh at it!
Probably because of the space lasers
Trust me, us Jews were howling at this
@@mu2960 don’t worry it’s my shift with the lasers this week
Nothing will top the trio of Black Superman jokes but Che making Colin go after ScarJo is always amazing
man of steal
Che and Colin’s season finale tradition sketch deserves a weekly show all to itself… or a long-form one-time special edition for a streaming platform. We need more of it!
yeah, this is so good that I think having it too often would cheapen it but only once a year is not enough.
Kendrick part really made Che uncomfortable. He quickly said NOOOO
He physically backed up like he tried to dodge it, lmao
@@deanfranzloved that part! Lol
You could feel the fear. Priceless. 😂
lol, especially after the middle schooler bit. Brutal setup, haha
@@samuelmahoney6878 holy shit, I hadn't even caught that part! Jost legit set him up for a kdot takedown lmaoooo
“I don’t like that, not one bit.” - Michael Che.
Hilarious.
The look of disappointment on the Rabbi's face is everything & Colin's shame/embarrassment is too hilarious! Che is DIABOLICAL
The way Che's eyes dart when he mentioned Kendrick's name kills me lol
The TERROR in Che’s voice!! “Nooo” 😂
Che heard that diss track in his head immediately
Lmao which made it all the better 🤣 😂😂
Certified boogeyman
his panicked glance to the side sent me
3:33 Che genuinely looked like he was thinking of bolting from the stage vs finishing the Kendrick joke 🤣
Bro did not proceed until he read the rest of that card carefully 😂
At 3:28 he looks like he got so scared he flinched and is gonna jump out of his skin 😂
Che looked like he was shot reading that Kendrick joke.
Watching Che suddenly start questioning ever letting the joke war escalate was beautiful
Che jumped out of his seat at that joke....GOT HIM! (Only took a few years)
That pleading 'Rabbi, Rabbi?' at the end was hilarious 😂
Rabbi Jill's expression when he called the puppet Rabbi, before he really noticed that he was talking to a puppet 😂🤣🤣😂🤣
Poor Rabbi Jill! 😂
It was amusing when he pleaded, "Rabbi, Rabbi?" at the end.
"Kendrick Lamar? What!? OH NO!" 😂😂😂
Waiting for the Joke swap is like a kid waiting for christmas each year
They have them twice a season: a Christmas one and an end of the season one. Seasons 47 and 48 were the only times they didn't because of COVID (season 47 Christmas episode hosted by Paul Rudd), cast members using the airtime to say goodbye (Pete Davidson and Aidy Bryant during the season 47 finale and Cecily Strong during the season 48 Christmas episode), and the WGA strike of 2023 (the reason why season 48 ended after the Ana de Armas episode).
By far the most savage of all of the joke exchanges they’ve ever done. Congratulations, guys, you have turned a new corner in your bromance.
The NYC joke was really aimed at the victims, not Che.
@@lisasamuel3509 No, it was aimed to Che, making him a violent attacker.
@@lisasamuel3509 The entire setup is to paint them both in the worst light, you can't honestly believe they were insulting victims.
@@lisasamuel3509 , wrong, Lisa. 🧏♀ It's not about them.
@@lisasamuel3509 Watch it again, it was CLEARLY meant to make Che look like a bad guy, not even remotely to be mean to actual victims.
Yoooo...Colin has had enough of Che trying to get him killed. Shots fired playa, your boy came out the gate swinging and going out with a bang this season lmfao 🤣😆😅🎉
Che looked and sounded like he was getting a prostate exam when he was calling out Kendrick Lamar.
Che’s eyebrows when he saw Kendrick’s name💀
Like two caterpillars on ecstasy, lol
The eyebrows were freaking out for a second 😆
As every atom in Michael Che's body tries to escape the blast zone of the diss track the mouth is inviting.
That's Jill Hausman, the rabbi of The Actors' Temple on W 47th Street. It's both a functioning temple and off-Broadway theatre.
Looool
Only in NY 😂
Cool...always good to know the background stuff...Sometimes SNL forgets that not everyone lives in NYC!
If she's an actor they really wasted her. Could have given her actual lines.
So she is a real rabbi and not some actress hired to troll Colin and the audience like last time.
God that Kendrick Lamar joke should get an Emmy. So good
Che messed up the delivery tho
It's like Che's life flashed before his very eyes when he finished reading that card lmao
The Kendrick & Scarlett jokes made this a double TKO😅
Scarlett needs to make a guest appearance sometime! That way Collin can read the jokes while his wife is right next to him! That's going to be comedy gold!
It was basically the end of Rocky II
@tysonthomas7094 I wish see could see her initial reaction to all these. 😂
Yes it did …Jost your making sleep on the couch I’m making you afraid to go outside ….it’s 1 vs 1
@@tysonthomas7094 That would break the internet. Alternatively Colin could ask her to sit next to Che.
The segue off "bitches" was a perfect progression of joke trickery craftsmanship. Perfect.
It was a real Oedipus moment
"And speaking of bitches..." is a segue I'm going to try and use more often.
That Rabbi was such a good sport, man. She smiled the whole time!
Che's quick shift in body posture during that Kendrick joke as he's glancing over to Colin shows his nervousness was genuine. Congrats Colin, you finally one-upped Che!
the way che almost popped outta his chair when he had to finish readin that card ☠
dude feared for his life lol
Che going to wake up to multiple diss tracks from KDot
😂😂😂 💯
Che usually wins these mini-battles but Colin may have done the best, most diabolical joke with making Che call out Kendrick Lamar. Just absolute genius!
Lmaoooo Che was legitimately terrified reading that Kendrick Lamar joke
I have never seen Michael Che so scared in his life - he's definitely terrified to be K Dot's next target😂😂😂😂😂 well done guys!!!!
The fear in Che's eyes after saying Kendrick's name😆😆
Che making Jost roast his wife in back to back joke swaps is diabolical
Rabi Jill was a real one, her facial expression just sent it for me, that silence speaks volumes when needed 😂😂😂
Che looked ready to duck and run when he read that Kendrick joke omfg XD
How he jumped back in that chair 😂😂😂
The HER reference was brilliant.
Jost with his first W, that was hilarious. That's the most uncomfy I've seen Che to date lol, both were hilarious as always and sold this perfectly. LOVE IT
Che literally jumped back at the start of that Kendrick Lamar joke and looked over at Colin like, "What did you just make me say?!"
😅😂
The funny thing is that they actually keep pranking eachother of work too. Sending mariachi bands at 7 in the morning for a birthday and stuff like that
Honestly this has been the best idea for weekend update it's fresh and while it has been done all over RUclips, these guys have a MUCH bigger audience so it's more embarrassing for each other
3:27 laughing, uttering Noooooo while shaking his head. He knew ..... He knew the hurt that was about to be dished out but couldn't stop.
3:21
Scarlett Johansson hosting the premiere of the 50th season with Kendrick as the musical guest would be insane after this episode and I would not miss it for the world🤣
Collin went Machiavellian with the Kendrick Joke 😂
I’m convinced Colin ended it early. That was too good.
He was like "anyway so that's the show"
yeah im thinking he saw something on that teleprompter that would've actually gotten him killed lmao
most definitely, he looked up and burst out laughing and just ended the show
Che took some punches in this 😂
Finally
@@LindaC616 lol 😝
I gotta give this one to Jost. Having him call out Kendrick right before summer break is next level roasting.
And the Oscar goes to Collin making Che talk about Kendrick
Collin got a Mortal Kombat FATALITY on Che with the Kendrick joke!!!
Indeed
Che's using guest stars and props and Colin still managed to make it an even match this year!
The funniest thing ever is how much Che DIDNT want to read that card
The most brutal, toe to toe Joke Swap they've ever done and long may it continue 😂😂😂😂
Jost has put a huge bullseye on Che's forehead 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Weekend Update is always my favorite part of the show, but the joke swapping segments are always a season highlight 😂😂😂 Thank you, Michael and Colin! 😊❤️
Same with me thank you so much Michael and Colin
i thought it was over for che with the kendrick jokes but then the rabbi brought the puppet out😭😭😭😭
Micheal ches voice reading the Kendrick line was a bar....lmfao
This was one of the best end-of-season joke trades ever.
Colin needs to bring in Michael's mom for revenge
They're going to save that for when Michael Che announces that he's leaving SNL. God, I hope they do that.
If he really wanted to get him, he'd bring in Scarlet and make Che read every Scarlet joke he's ever written
Agreed.
Oofff, a line will be crossed with that one.
@@dyentKinda did something similar when Colin shared videos of every Che joke dissing the WMBA with Caitlin Clark present.
The Scarlet & Kendrick jokes were great - and they’ll each be waiting for Colin and Che at home tonight! 😅
truly upping their game. Che wrote some brutal stuff for Colin and Colin may have finally had nothing but good bits for Che.
Michael Che grabbing onto the desk while reading the Kendrick Lamar joke like he was going to have to immediately dodge bullets.
OUTSTANDING!...
Why cant we have an HOUR of this?!?!
It couldn't be sustained for this long. You can't ratchet things up indefinitely. A few minutes is optimal to develop and maintain momentum.
3:35 “or should I say littlest” 🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
It was slept on by the crowd because of Che's unbridled panic throughout.🤣
I think he said "Little Liston" referencing Sonny Liston.
3:26 - you can just see the moment when the cue card changes, and it's glorious.
Lmfao i still roll out laughing for the Kdot Joke. Never seen Che mumble the joke 😂😂😂😂😂
The Rabbi was a good sport. That Kendrick Lamar joke was brilliant! I am calling it for Colin this year!
I agree. He’s the Kendrick of this beef 😂
the "real" rabbi and the "real" activist were both actors - it was just an effective strategy to make it more mortifying to do the bits
@@sparkythancztwise Nope. Somebody above gave her full name and synagogue. She’s a real rabbi.
100% and 0% chance she’ll agree to return, and can’t blame her. Wonder how much she was told when invited?

You can see when Che said his name he immediately darted his eyes to the nearest exit

When Che read Kendrick’s name he looked like he saw Candyman.😂
This might be the first one Colin has won. Catholic alter boys joke into a Kendrick Lamar call out? Unmatched
I always look forward to the joke swap! I'm so glad they made it a yearly ritual because every edition is comedy gold!
The only times they didn't have it was seasons 47 and 48. For season 47, it was because the midpoint Christmas episode hosted by Paul Rudd was downgraded to a clip show episode because of Omicron variant COVID on the rise and infecting some cast members while the season 47 finale skipped the joke exchange so Aidy Bryant and Pete Davidson can say goodbye on the air. For season 48, the Christmas one was canceled because Cecily Strong went on Weekend Update as Cathy Ann to say goodbye while the episode that would have had the summer joke exchange was canceled because of the WGA strike. I'm disappointed that there wasn't any wild cheering and applause when it came back on the Kate McKinnon Christmas episode. I thought people liked that segment.
Holy cow! This that Nicolai Bolas of MTG Draft Format fame??? Wow!
One of the best joke swaps we've everr had they just keep getting better and better also that practicing rabbi did a phenomenal job
