When I saw that this track was broken up into 20+ segments of 8 seconds each in the rip, I thought to myself "nope, not putting this jigsaw puzzle together." Thanks for doing what I am far too lazy to do myself, m8.
@@NovaBlue242 The song is dynamic because it needs to be able to end at any point due to the chain attack being able to end at any point after you start one. I guess that's the reason. You will know our names isn't nearly as bad, but still has 15 or so segments because of the climax and 1% transitions.
@@NovaBlue242 This song as well as the first phase of Moebius Battle seem to be separated into segments for no practical reason as far as I know. Songs like You Will Know Our Names, Immediate Threat, and Moebius Battle 2, are separated into segments so that they can transition to their next phase in between those segments. So I think this might have originally had a climax phase or something but they decided to make it just 1 loop in the end. As for the outros, those can come in at any point and end the song, they don't require the song to be separated into segments.
@@Kobob_KC Chain Attacks can be ended at any time by the player manually, so that makes sense for this. And for the Moebius battles, there are different variations for the themes for many of the fights, but some of the segments are shared between them, so it saves space on the cart to only use them once.
Ever since I linked this to my DnD group expressing my dread at the idea that when I produce a BBEG they're just going to deadass chain attack it into oblivion, this song has randomly shown up in my autoplay and ambushes me like a unique monster. I live in constant fear.
I'll be honest here I've watched this video at least 300 times cuz I love this theme that much. I am singlehandedly 1/1100 of your viewerbase if math is correct.
When I heard this for the first time in game for the tutorial, I thought "oh damn, that's pretty sick" Then the first order was completed, the riff at 1:20 came in and I was legit bopping my head with a stupid grin on my face. Music in games is really something.
2:00 Boss: "Argh, good, it's over soon, they already trashed me hard for two rounds and now they are down to just one healer, phew!" Heroes: *Activate Ouroboros Chain order* Boss: "I DIDN'T SIGN FOR THIS!!!"
Yeah every time I whipped out the chain attack the battle was over no matter which boss it was. It became even worse when I discovered Smash on an attacker during chain attack.
@blackbomber72 just a few nights ago I landed a Smash finisher that dealt 4.8 million damage. Absolutely shattered 1/2 the health bar of the big red money Unique Beast in the the 1st region.
Ok look, I get it. The chain attack theme is very tiring after a while, especially during certain specific boss fights. But you gotta admit (spoilers ahead) That sequence with Zed was absolutely brilliant. The first time in the game where the chain attack doesn't play, and the second time in the game where the characters are up against insurmountable odds. While Showdown with Z may not be the best final boss theme in the series, it does perfectly fit the mood... and the fact that the chain attack doesn't play during the battle is a testament to how overwhelming Zed truly is. You are restricted from interlinking for a majority of the battle, chain attacks only working to restore your health, hell even UNLIMITED BLADE isn't nearly as effective on Zed as other bosses. Even after your party gets their interlink back, Zed's true form poses the existential threat to them... the chain attack theme still won't play. However only after proving to Zed that the bonds youve forged throughout the game mke you stronger than ever, only after proving to Zed that your party did not need interlinking to pose a threat... Only then does chain attack return. Only when Melia and Nia are fighting side by side with you, only when its proven that Ourobouros, no, the world doesn't need Zed... That's when chain attack comes back. It's a theme of triumph, a theme that shows that your team *will* win the battle no matter what. And because of that... I genuinely cant hate this theme. Even if i do think it shouldn't've been used nearly as much as it was (chapter 5's whole N part didn't need it im sorry), its usage at the end of the game justifies its existence Sorry if i was a bit wordy there, the end of this game just hoooh
Zed battle was super boring, the first part, you just literally have to tank until Lucky Seven charges up so you can slice his first health bar, then comes the separation part in which you need to hit chain attacks to deal some damage and heal until the Queens summon heroes to help you, (the first part of this phase is worse since you only have 3 characters). And then comes the part where the Queens join the battle and in which you can't possibly die because the Queens are so OP one heals like a madgirl and the other hits like a truck. Also 2 hour battle because Zed is a damage sponge
I would give anything to see Noah, Mio, Glimmer, Pyra, Mythra, Nia and Rex all participate in a Chain Attack together...especially with Pyra and Mythra using Pneuma as their Ouroboros transformation.
I've had a Xenoblade 3 favorites playlist since I beat the game and it had the chain attack theme. For some reason it was deleted from the playlist and I haven't had it for months, and I only just noticed! Thanks for this video because it is now part of the playlist again!
As much as I love this song, I really hoped they muted this music in certain boss fights like in N's fight, since it literally deleted any emotion from the fight for me. It doesn't have to be every boss fights, since some fights are more hype with this music.
I dunno, after the emotional steamrolling you had to endure at the end of Chapter 5 thanks to him, I found it immensely satisfying to kick the shit out of N to this music.
@@GreatBigPillock If it was accompanied by some sick hype music, then yeah. But the fight's music is so sad and somber it just felt hilariously weird when you switch to the Chain Attack music.
