i finally finished future redeemed this week after a year of it coming out. i've been a massive xenoblade fan since 2015 but due to money issues i couldnt afford the dlc until now, and my god, was it absolutely worth it. i somehow stayed blind on spoilers that entire year and this song specifically blew my mind. i adore this series
the xeno community is very good in not spoiling the games.... I finished FR a few days ago.... I played the first game on the wii, but only could afford a switch about 3 years ago, but i started with the DE, then i got into zelda, then i got into xenoblade 2, then more zelda, and finally i just finished xenoblade 3, imo 3 is my least favorite, the plot and characters didn't work for me, but future redeemed is amazing. I'm happy you also could enjoy it.
I've listened to this song so many times and it still gives me chills listening to it. Especially looking at the art for the OST, just imagining this group of young people are only there because a group thousands of years in the past literally fought God.
4:08 Matthew: Mr. Alpha, sir. You wanna go so badly, then pick up and go! This world... it belongs to us! Alpha: Regrettable, Matthew. I'd hoped that we could celebrate the day of departure together. But very well... It seems that I must forsake you. The olden ones, olden life... *Your olden notions!* god that conversation goes so hard
I know right wtf it's cuz all people care about is cod and games that are actually hot garbage. I understand this game may not be everyone's cup of tea but that is a shame
There are many themes to signify the end of an Era...this is a good example of a haunting and powerful deity being challenged by those it has wronged by threatening the world and the people they love.
Since this song started in the beginning I was like: Are they going to...? And the final boss made me faint again as I did years ago with the XC1 final boss. This with some Xenogears vibes included... it was a masterpiece and like what you said: The end of an Era. An incredible and unforggetable trilogy.
"Do you think we should just shut up and die?!" "If that is a will decided by a god." Booooiiii, he told us _exactly_ his feelings on the matter. Not _the_ god, _a_ god. Told us to our face and we're still like "sure, whatever, you're just a quitter" before we find out the truth. 😂
I have to say, even though it was technically not the same Alvis we knew in the first game, as someone who's been a fan since the first game, it's kinda satisfying seeing Ontos fill the villain role in full especially since on a first time playthrough I knew tons of folks who expected Alvis to be the final boss of the first game.
I was definitely one of those. That silver hair made me call him as Xenoblade's final boss the moment he introduced himself to Shulk at Makna Forest Lakeside. Ten years later... I was finally proven right, lol.
@@vainezaiven6677 Dude, if it makes you feel any better: My fiancée had similar feelings about Alvis when she was playing DE for the first time back in 2020 lol She thought the dude'd be the final boss as opposed to the one it actually was until we got to "I am Monado" lol
@@themojogamer75 I'm pretty sure the game intended for players to assume Alvis would be the final boss. I think the game makers were relying on our assumptions about RPGs to lead us to expect that.

@@teaandbrandy makes sense, considering Godsibb was the Boss Theme for the Omega form that looked like Deus. God this series is brilliant with callbacks!
@@terrapog8533How so, though??? Just think about it more... Redeem the Future is much longer, with its large amount of different versions, and it even has leitmotifs of Zanza the Divine, too. (And no, not just with the voice singing the song.)

@@terrapog8533But Redeem the Future also has a (pardon the pun) GODLY piano, but the main thing i want to focus on and you ask is: You prefer Zanza the Divine because you were less surprised by what Redeem the Future was going to be? I've listened to what I believe to be, every single Xenoblade OST there is, and this one is by far the most sick one. TIes the whole trilogy together so well, insane OST to end it off with
This is a great full version, but MAN Alpha the Divine Beginning and End were such better names!! Considering what Alvis said at the end of XC1 especially, it's a great parallel and callback to where it all started
I mean, fan names vs official, you can still call them that if you like. I personally prefer the unique name as opposed to referencing zanza, but that's just me.
@@rex_yaldabaoth Yeah I get that. Personally I'd say it's referencing Alvis more than Zanza because it's Alvis that says he will "proclaim the end" and so having Alpha be described as "The Divine Beginning and End" was really fitting for the full circle kinda thing imo
@@rex_yaldabaoth I mean one fan-made name for a track I personally preferred was “Aionios' Strongest” instead of “Ultimate Enemy”, the former feels special.
So a few days ago I finished playing this in yuzu with 4K and a bunch of mods (60 FPS, AA blur removal, improved DoF/etc.) and god damn, was it a treat. But there's nothing quite like experiencing this fight--and Xenoblade 3, and the trilogy as a whole--for the first time. These games are meant to experienced, not just played. Vids like this are kinda bittersweet for that reason though; since the next Xeno games will be different, this theme and pretty much all of Future Redeemed are basically like a divine send-off.
That unknown sparks hope and curiosity though. They've been trying to tell this story for so long, so so long, and they finally did it. Who knows what other ideas have been cooking up in the madlad's head, Perfect Works probably hasn't been the only thing living in his head rent free for the past decade or two.
@@drakath5727 Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm a lover of the unknown myself, so I'm excited for what Takahashi-san has in store. It's more that the Xenoblade trilogy was an amazing story and it's a little sad knowing that it's reached the end.
We're not quite going into the unknown yet, unless they really want to add a ton to X now. I can't complain either way, since I never owned a Wii U, though.
@@billjohns5943 Y'know, the end of the trailer for X Definitive hinted at new postgame story content. XCX was always separate from the other, numbered entries in the series, but I'm hoping to see something that finally links X to the main trilogy. Even better if it hints at what's next for the Xeno series (which will make waiting hard lol)
Just looking at the OST album art, a group of friends enjoying a campfire... little did they know the apocalyptic battle against god in the distant past that let them get to that point.

Shulk: Why? Tell me why! Is this really what you want?! Alvis!
Rex: Drop it, Shulk! Nothing's going to get through to him! He's a heartless machine!

Little did we know.....after today...we know....the Chronicles continue!!!
It is the future that awaited for us after the credits
It'd be hilarious if "the key we lost" was alvis and all we beat was a projection (made from origin data) and his real body is in X.
"Long time no see"
Yea, It's been a while hasn't it...Lao?
1:12 I’d actually never heard this part before; just another in the already countless similarities to Zanza’s theme
Its part of the intro/idle variant, it plays if you wait/menu and dont approach Alpha right away to start the fight.
