I recently saw Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice in theaters. These are some of my thoughts!
DISCLAIMER: THERE ARE SOME SMALL SPOILERS! I tried to keep it as spoiler free as possible, but a few of my explanations contain spoilers! Watch at your own risk!

They should have took all the sub plots expanded them and then made another movie. This one should have been about Astrid and Lydia and saving Astrid by giving herself to Beetlejuice and having to stay in the afterlife with him. At the end should have introduced the ex wife to set up the next film which should have been about getting Lydia back and either stopping the ex wife or Beetlejuice and her realizing they were made in hell for each other
I agree with everything you said. They had missed opportunities. They could have taken Orgega's Love interest , Wilem Defoes character along with Bellucci out & it would still be the same movie. Having said that, I did enjoyed being back in this world for over an hour drinking out of my Shrunken Head cup!
my theater was all sold out of everything Beetlejuice 😔
