  • So while I'm waiting for the parts of my front seats to come back from the shop for my "Going Retro" project, the windshield washer pump failed and leaked. This video illustrates the steps I went through in removing the washer reservoir to get to the pump. It's not a difficult job but it requires you to take your time so tackle this at your own risk.

Just replaced my 06 997 wipers pump with great help from this video. Pump looked fine but a new pump installed and working great. A new pump on ebey cost little compared to the time of labor to get to the pump and tank.

You could open the plastic case and put some WD40 on the axle of the motor because this is stuck and rusty. Hold the axle and rotate the motor around its axle until it spins free. You can test the successful repair with a 9v battery before installing back into the car.
    Best regards from Germany Rainer

Great tip! Since the part was only $15, replacing it was an easy decision. Worry free for the next few years.

Oh, just another thought, the wheel liners are a bit fiddly to get back in so leaving them in the sun for 10min or so, makes them a little easier to refit...😂🦘🦘🦘

Great idea. Luckily for me, it was hot in Houston so it did help a little but still a PITA!

One of the better videos on RUclips. Your video was in focus and easy to see and your audio was clear and concise. I'm about to tackle this same problem on my 07 Cayman. Thanks for the help!

One thing I failed to mention was to replace the rubber grommets back into the metal bracket in the car. I stated in the video to leave them on the reservoir but that doesn't make it easier . . . rather, it made installation a little more challenging. Just put a little water or tad of oil on the inner part of the grommets and the reservoir will slide in easily. Good luck!

Cool. Super easy . . . except for the stupid inner lining. You need to play with the angle and it'll pop right out. Good luck!

Nice presentation but you need a mic or speak as loud as the Beastie Boys-Time to Get Ill plays. With CoVid lock downs and all that SH_T, I was able to save loads of money watching your video.
