I also have a 2005 997 but its a coupe. I do the odd bit of work on it so when I saw the angle grinder come out I thought you were serious and it scared the shit out of me!
@@JoshLoberant not much. The only location it was in the way it was for the rear support nuts and we manage with a wrench instead of a socket. The little extra time was less than the time to remove the pipes. Have a look at our latest video. We are removing the engine out of the Camaro Z28 to upgrade the powertrain.
The video is excellent. But the music if you could call it that I'd dreadful. I really dont know why people use computer Generated crap. So repetitive..sorry my friend.. it really did spoil the video.. I really don't mean to be rude.. I'd rather it was left out
Without filming would say around 4-5 hours. Had a hard time with the exhaust bolt. We have more coming. There is one about the convertible roof on our channel. Will I have one for door switch replacement. Also one for installing a short shift shifter. And Headlight levelling sensor.
Seeing such a young man and his dad like this has brought a very big smile to my face. Cheers
Thanks. Have a look a other video on our channel. They do good work.
you truly are a skilled mechanic
Thanks so much!!
Amazing job! Too bad you are not closer to me in Ontario
Where about are you?
Thanks for posting the video - it was very helpful as I replaced the water pump in my 2006 997. It's a very tight space.
On to the next project...
Great, make sure to bleed the cooling system properly. Stay tuned for more.
"Lets clean this".
And out comes the angle grinder.
"No".
Brilliant...
😂🤣forgot about this part

Great video thank you!!!
Thanks!’
Great video! Thanks for posting!
Thanks.
Très bon vidéo merci.
Merci David
Good Job ... Nice Video !
Thanks
Belle job!
Thanks Charlie
Great job!
Wouldn’t it be helpful to loosen the two engine mounts up top and lower the engine few cm?
Maybe but there was enough space doing it this way. Thanks for watching.
Great Job! Thanks!
Very helpful video. I now know exactly how to do this........... By taking it to a mechanic and paying him!!!!!
Thanks for watching
Great video. But if you’re going to flush your system you’re better off with distilled water. Also use the Porsche coolant.
Yes, I do have distilled water for it. Using Zerex G-40 coolant.
if you loosen the both side rear engine mounting bottom nuts a little, then the mounting plate can move back much easier.
What exhaust do you have? Sounds really good.
It’s a Tubi exhaust.
WHY U DIDNT CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT WHILE U WERE THERE BELOW?
Yes should have done at the same time but didn’t have it at the time of changing the pump. Will do a full coolant flush in spring and will change it.
Can you provide some info on the flexible tool used? What’s the manufacturer?
It’s a Snap-on tool. 1/4 inch flexible screwdriver
Here is the link.

Well done sir, I was curious what brand water pump did you use?
Gates 42579
@@MassProject Thank you sir
What app do you use to monitor in the end? Great job

I am in Oakville, Ontario.
Yes a bit far, 5:30 hours drive
very nice video... well done, especially given how tight some of those spaces were. Curious, what was the total 'actual' time for job?
Without filming would say around 4-5 hours. Had a hard time with the exhaust bolt.
@@MassProject Thank you sir for the prompt reply!... much appreciated. You are very skilled.
Thank you very much. Make sure to subscribe, we have a lot coming. The engine of the Camaro is out and video will be up soon. 500+ hp
With my ocd I couldn’t have pulled the pump until I cleaned the engine
that's in the planning to do!! just need to find the time with all the project.
Great video, but wouldn't it be easier if you removed the pipes?
All exhaust bolts were rusted and seized. Didn’t want to break any in the flange.
@@MassProject if removing them was possible, how much easier would the job become?

WOW!!!!!!!
Man, that looks beyond my scope.
Not that bad, only one step at a time.

Turn on captions and mute the video. Problem solved.
Thanks Mass Project for the like....
