Your windshield is dirty, so you hit the button to spray some washer fluid, and clean it off... But nothing comes out, and you know the fluid is full! Now what? In this video, Andy shows you how to diagnose a washer fluid system when nothing comes out of the sprayer nozzles! First, a lot depends on if you hear a pump noise or not. In our case, we can hear the pump, so we know that is working. Andy traces the fluid lines from the pump to the sprayer nozzle, and discovers a tear in the hose, and a leak! Andy also gives you some great tips on the different colors of fluid, what they're made for, and which you should choose for your car or truck!

Something as simple as clearing the openings of the sprayers with a needle and checking that all the lines are plugged correctly. Saved quite some $$ with this video. Great content, short and straight to the point while thoroughly explaining how to troubleshoot.

Thank you!! I added fluid to my reservoir this morning but it still wouldn't spray even though I could hear the motor pump. Googled, found your video, and decided to go look under my car. Yep, a clear leak!! So at least now I know what it is specifically so it can be fixed. You're a money saver!

Thank you, You are the best Host and Mechanic I appreciate how you calmly take the time and explain things. I once had to take the tank out and clean it on my Crown Victoria because a big insect got inside somehow and had everything blocked lol 🤣🤣🤣. Thank you for the good video.

On the Caliber it probably wouldn't have hurt to put a small cable tie around the hose after reinstalling it to help hold it in place. I think it is possible that the hose isn't holding on to the barb fitting as well as it used to

My issue has always been with clogged nozzles. Best to purge the lines out before you replace or clean them out to get anything out of the lines otherwise you risk more debris clogging thing up.

Wondering why it works Sometimes, more times dont work, but Sometimes it sprays well, and sometimes one side, appreciates the input, oh, pump is good, just from pump to 2 nozzles no water at air pressure. Thanks

I've had a nozzle break at the hose connection before, due to freezing early last winter....on a side note I don't recommend rainex, after using religiously for years it created a film on the "full" sensor tripping the "low" code. Sensor was only $5 but I had to remove the grill and other parts as well as the tank 45 minutes (RAM 1500 4th gen) (Vinegar flushing didn't work)

Tip; When checking your windshield washers, be sure to adjust nozzles so the fluid does hit in the right spot when the vehicle is moving. The faster you go the lower on the windshield the spray will hit so find a happy medium that you can live with.

I had to unclog both car's nozzles last winter. Some nasty stuff blew out. Watch what kind of fluid you put in your reservoir. Some don't like winters.

Excellent video! Seems like the owner of that car doesn’t even know that cars need oil changes. By that, I mean the whole car looks neglected

Great different vehicle /different problem perspective. I think it's hilarious that Dodge puts the washer fluid and coolant reservoirs RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER, a potential and likely problem encountered more than a few times. (Another reason I wouldn't own a Dodge, but that's a different discussion).

I have the same exact problem however, I am in Florida so ICE and SNOW is not going to be an issue. SO I am looking for a solution. I already filled my washer fluid so I know that is not the problem. I am thinking something happened at the shop when I got my tires put on because it was working before the car went in the shop and now it is not working.

I have a 2003 Dodge Durango. The fluid pump works fluid comes out but on the wrong windshield.
When I press the fluid button for front windshield it sprays on the rear window. When I press the fluid button for the rear, it sprays fluid on the front windshield. Could this be a problem with front and rear hoses connected to the wrong location or something else?
This happened after a botched/negligent repair job by Firestone. They replaced my upper and lower radiator hoses and the clamp on the lower radiator hose became loose and it sprayed hot coolant all over the windshield fluid tank and electrical components.

You'll have 2 washer pumps, one for front, one for rear. (Usually both are located near the bottom of your washer fluid reservoir) It sounds like the lines that go from the pump to nozzle just got switched. So you just have to switch them back. But, wait til the reservoir is close to empty so you don't have to deal with a bunch of fluid everywhere lol. Hope this helps

How about the opposite problem? Washer fluid comes on automatically with sporadic wipers without me turning them on.
