- I demonstrate how to remove and replace a windshield washer fluid hose on a 2012 Porsche 911 (991.1) The actual task takes about 30 minutes, but with the help of video editing I demonstrate the Must-see tips and tricks when performing this job in about 7 minutes.
You made a great video that easily shows the problem and the solution. It was incredibly helpful to me!
Glad it helped, thanks for commenting.
Thanks for this. Just discovered mine has cracked after 7 years. Time to order he part and give this a try!
Glad the video helps, thankfully it's a pretty easy low-cost repair.
Thanks man, very helpful! One remark though: the "black clip that needs to come back to release the hose" at 03.41: pay attention not to push it too far back, otherwise it will fall down in oblivion.
Good input, thanks for commenting.
The corollary to that is... don't push to hard on the clip or you'll break it and be sad.
Thank God for ripping one off of the dead part.
You're a very kind and patient man! Thank you dude!
Wow! Thank you.
Hey there... have a 2015 TTS where I think the prior owner snipped the line to protect the convertible top. Followed your instructions and had it done in 30 minutes! YOU ROCK!
For anyone else... I did manage to break a clip at the pump and was able to reuse one from the old lines... just have to remember that there is a top and a bottom to them.
Thank you!
Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad the video helped!
Thank you so much Jack for this video. Dealership wanted $450 to replace the hose as the official procedure mandates to remove the front left wheel and wheel arch protection to access the connection buried under... Took me 30mn (plus watching your video twice) and $45 for the part... @LF - my car is a 2016 cayman 981 and procedure is exactly the same.
Great feedback! Glad the video helped. Thanks for commenting.
Hi Mickael. Could you reach ok into the right side of the bonnet to connect the hose? I have a 2016 boxter and it looks like theres a black plastic "shield" in the way.
Have this exact issue on my 718. Just went to the dealership (I assumed it was a connector which was missing, but the hose is snapped off). Was a bit hesitant on trying to do this myself as it looked like i needed to go "inside" the bonnet. But this video gave me confidence it can be done rather easily. Thanks!
Glad the video is helpful for you. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Went very smoothly, thanks in no small part to your video.
Glad it helped! Thanks for letting me know.
Thank you for the video. Helped me quickly do the repair myself.
Thanks for commenting. I'm glad it was helpful. I have other 991 tips on my channel as well.
Super Video. Thank you for posting it.

Great! video. Now I also know what that yellow tool is for that is attached to the cover. My washer hose failed during the 1st. three months since new. That was replaced by the dealer under warranty. Not sure how long ago the current hose failed. I rarely use the washers. This hose will be number 3. 2014 991 thanks

Lifesaver! Thanks for creating this video!
Glad it was helpful.
Fantastic video. Amazing how poorly this was designed
Brilliant video!! Thanks a lot brother!!
Glad you liked it 👍
Thanks!!! I just save $400 by doing if myself
Great! Glad it was helpful, thanks for posting. It's nice to hear the feedback.
thank you🎉 My 991.2gts has same problem😢
I'm glad the video helped. Regrettably this issue will be on most 991 at some point. Your not alone. Thanks for posting your comment.
Thanks Jack! Wondering if this would be the same kind of "home" repair on my 2016 Boxster base 981?
I can't say for sure as I Don't have experience with Boxsters, however this is the sort if thing that could easily be common among the models. Maybe use this video to explore your boxstet and report back for the sake of others.
Thanks Jack ~ I will! We took a look under the hood and all seems to align with the video you posted. I will update when we attempt to fix. Your video has been very helpful & the only one of its kind we could find online ~ Laurie
Thank you!
Glad it was helpful
Thx! This also the same for a 991.2 as well.
You're welcome, and you are correct. It also works on boxter and Cayman.
Thanks for the video. Bought the part but I’m concerned about Benoit’s cautionary note.
I didn't have any problems with the clips, you'll be just fine. It's a pretty easy replacement.
Don't be. You can practice on the replacement hose.
Do you have a link to where I can buy this replacement hose?
@christianswanson7571 I do not have an affiliate link for this part. Thank you for asking, but I'm not one of those guys who is trying to monetize a channel. I just like to help where I can. As described in the video, this Part # 991.628.667.05 can be purchased online at Pelican Parts or a local Porsche dealer. 👍
Is there any connector or fix for that cut ? It would be easier
You are right. A simple splice in the hose would be easier. The path where the hose routes doesn't have any extra clearance, so an external splice with a piece of hose doesn't really work since it would be too large to fit. Where there is a will, there's always a way. However, after I thought about it for a while, I decided to replace the part. It didn't cost much, and the job is fairly easy.
