    There's another way that works even better (at least in my opinion). It keeps the sliding metal chassis with the drawer instead of with the cabinet frame. All you have to do is pull out the drawer until it's extended. Then put your hands on/under the metal chassis and lift while pulling out the rest of the way. Boom! 💥

    • @jacks_DIY98

      @stevef5605 You are correct, but 8 quarts in my car still prompts a message to add oil, so i ended up adding 9 quarts. The correct answer is to add 8 quarts then check the level with the multifunction display since there is no dipstick. I've found with any make and model car and changing my own oil for 40 years that the owner's manual is a cautious number. What you drain is very dependent on the angle you drain at and how long you drain for. I'm sure those 15 minute quick lube places always leave a quart out of a fill because they don't drain all the old oil out.

    • @jacks_DIY98
      @jacks_DIY98 3 дня назад

      @KerbalGeek Yeah, that is a great point. The Porsche procedure says to drain for 45 minutes. Since it's easy for me to walk away and let it drain, I always do.

    Amazing video. Huge thanks. Wife's 2018 Armada Platinum has this problem. Last battery was bought 19 mos ago (from dealer), and recently died. We just brought it to the dealer, who would not honor battery warranty, and charged us $1k ($CAD) for new battery + a wired in aftermarket trickle charger. I suspect this is not going to help unless we keep the trickle charger plugged in all the time (what a hassle!) Amazing that the dealers are not aware of this VVCS issue, which seems very common. If problem persists, then I will study the video steps in detail, then snip. Thanks Again!

      @grahamhassall3408 I think that's a reasonable decision. If I did the coolant again, I'd drain the motor and then push the coolant out of the lines via the connections at the back. That is fairly simple to do. $100 for coolant and two hours of work, and you'd be done👍

    My wife's EX37 quit charging. Before taking it to the dealer I hooked up a charger set at 25 amps. While it was charging I ran the engine. Then I disconnected the charger and left to take the car to the dealer and the alternator was charging again. (computer brain fart?) Hi Jack. Appreciate your attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly. I’m on my second QX. A 2014 QX80 with push button start. Experiencing intermittent click no crank condition. Brand new battery with good connections. I understand the starter can fail intermittently. Do you know if the IDPM can also fail intermittently? Trying to confirm it’s a battery before paying for replacement. I’ve also seen others talk about the push to start button being dirty and the brake pedal switch being intermittent. Thanks so much!

      @jacks_DIY98 Месяц назад

      @danwilson1068 Thank you for your compliments. I have another video on crank No start that might also be helpful for you. In my experience, an intermittent starter is a bad starter and not a bad IPDM

    • @danwilson1068
      @danwilson1068 Месяц назад

      @@jacks_DIY98Thanks Jack. I watched your other video and it helped clear up my question. If I understand your test scenario, if the light doesn’t light with a click no start that means the IDPM is bad. I haven’t used a test light, but assuming the IDPM is a hard fail and not intermittent and I can get the starter to engage after repeated attempts that means it’s a starter.

    • @jacks_DIY98
      @jacks_DIY98 Месяц назад

      @danwilson1068 Testing at the IPDM like I did in the video determines if the IPDM is sending the start signal to the starter. If you never get a light to light up, the IPDM isn't working. If you do get a light to light up, but no crank, then your starter solenoid or starter motor is not working. They are essentially one part connected together and replaced together as one unit. Although electrically, they are different.

      @@jacks_DIY98 So i've been looking up info with regards to an oil or fluid extractor and apparently the oil can be changed quickly as the 2.0 has the dip stick assembly (no dipstick). Found some info online and may do mine at the 5k mark and not wait the recommended 10k. Extractor looks straight forward. For me getting under the car and removing the belly pan is tough man if i had a lift like you id be in business. We traded in our 2016 Q5 and i always loathed the ramps and removing so many fasteners to get to the drain plug.

      @JohnSotirios I agree with the 5k service intervals, that is what I do. If I didn't have a lift, I probably would use an extractor as well. I watched a good RUclips from Humble Mechanic, and it seems like a good process. How did your Q5 compare to the Macan?

    • @JohnSotirios
      @JohnSotirios Месяц назад

      @@jacks_DIY98 So far the performance of the Porsche is no match! But a few things i liked about the Audi. It was a 2016 Q5 so it was at the end of that body style where the Macan was based off of. At around 80k I noticed a lot of oil burning the tailpipes were chrome but they looked like the Macan's a dark black from all the oil. I had to put a quart about every 500 miles which was crazy. I changed the oil on the Q5 every 5k miles too. My wife was skeptical about another VW product but we both agreed that the Porsche fits the size and performance we liked. As for quarks in the Macan. The Audi when the lights were in Auto would still illuminate the gauge cluster where the Porsche the cluster lights are off during the day and at times makes seeing the gauges a bit of a challenge. The media on the in dash cluster in the Macan goes to the next station on the list not the favorite you have programed. The Audi you can scroll through your music media based on favorites whereas the Porsche, for example, in Sirius shows the next station not your favorite station which is neighboring station. This again a minor but favored feature in the Audi it made more sense. The Audi had the 8 speed transmission which was totally frustrating if at a stop and you wanted to take off all of a sudden the tranny would have a pause then downshift a second or two later and then it was totally dramatic whereas the Q5 would be very jerky whereas the PDK is amazing. Both styles are nice my wife loved the Audi overall from a design standpoint as it was Silver with a dark Grey leather and walnut interior. The Macan has the Light Beige interior and black accents. The Porsche also has the 18 way super sport seats which are really nice to sit in and now are ventilated which seems to be a nice add on. You can see the higher quality in the Porsche. Before the Q5 we had a 2009 VW Tiquan so we have been "moving on up like george and weezy."

    Thanks for the video. Had this issue on my 2017. When it was brand new it had this. I had many conversations with the dealer about ways to correct the issue before finally speaking with one tech who was able to come up with a solution so that the battery was constantly charging.

      @jameslynch8029 I agree. I actually recorded most of it but missed some spots, and the video was more than an hour long. As I started editing it, I realized it just wasn't going to turn out well, so I made this video to do my best capturing the main points.

    Thanks! Can you remove the wire without cutting it? Is there a clean removal?

    • @jacks_DIY98
      @jacks_DIY98 Месяц назад

      @vaporwareproducts Yes you could remove the wire from the connector. A small pick tool or little flat screwdriver would work. There is a metal tab inside the connector that needs to be released.

    Why in the hell did Infinity/Nissan do this stupid ass move? How engaging when the dealership service had no fix and they referred me to “consumer affairs”, total waste of time - they can’t do sht for you. You pay 85k for a car and they have no support? WTF? Who would make a charger that doesn’t charge when the accelerator is pushed? What dogshit…

    Can you confirm that in the 991 GT3 and GT3RS the final drive fill boilt is not a H8 allen bolt but a Banjo Bolt?

      @@peterlaskiewicz8252 Thanks! Now I will proceed! According to manual once you fill in and make the temperature check you have to take out 250m-350ml from the dripping point. Strange that different procedure compared to regular 991s.

      @@redzone5655 Agree. I only removed 100ML as I removed 3.25L when I drained my factory fill. I suspect they assume the 3RS will be tracked so extra remove for fluid expansion,

    This is a great video! I’ve been through several batteries and was just watching another video on how to change DIY the alternator and while I think I could have done it, it looked like more than I wanted to tackle. I decided to check out some of the comments and someone had brought up the issue and solution of clipping this wire. I then found this video and so happy to see how easy it was! It only took me a few minutes! Sure enough, proof is in the gauge! It used to drop down below the midline… now it stays well above it! ❤

    Would this be similar for an Infiniti 2014 QX70 5.0? I can't find a workshop manual to give me a definitive answer.

    • @jacks_DIY98

      @@goreallyspeed4819 The overall system is similar, but the connector on the IPDM and wire color is different. QX70 uses connector E7 pin 76. The VK50VE has a pink wire. The VQ37 has a purple wire.
