Great videos... keep them coming... the Owners manual says 8(eight) quarts of oil, including filter, for 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S, which is correct?.
@stevef5605 You are correct, but 8 quarts in my car still prompts a message to add oil, so i ended up adding 9 quarts. The correct answer is to add 8 quarts then check the level with the multifunction display since there is no dipstick. BTW, I have a video on how to check the oil level with a scan tool so that you don't have to start the motor without knowing the level 👍
@stevef5605 I don't have a PIWIS, but I'm sure you can get the reading from the level sensor. The car provides the data, so it's just a matter of navigating your system to the parameter.👍
I've found with any make and model car and changing my own oil for 40 years that the owner's manual is a cautious number. What you drain is very dependent on the angle you drain at and how long you drain for. I'm sure those 15 minute quick lube places always leave a quart out of a fill because they don't drain all the old oil out.
@KerbalGeek Yeah, that is a great point. The Porsche procedure says to drain for 45 minutes. Since it's easy for me to walk away and let it drain, I always do.
