You could save a lot of time by middle-clicking the items to auto-add to inventory.

I heard this was one of the first games to have a custom tracker for situation-specific instruments and music sections.
I don't know about the very first, but iMUSE-enabled games like Monkey Island did it much earlier and with more sophistication.

Cool that you're getting to run this at SGDQ. May or may not tune in, depending on how I am feeling, it is kind of late (always a bummer that the kind of games I'm into get the late slots). Don't most runs on there over estimate how much time it is going to take? I notice your slot says 10 minutes, but it'll definitely be over 10 minutes. Don't they usually round up for most of the runs, or are those estimated times temporary? Either way, looking forward to watching the run, either live or archived.

Am I the only one who doesn't know how to reproduce that savegame exploit for passing through walls and locked doors? :)
I've tried it several times myself, it takes practice to pull off consistently. You need to be crawling, running and then save the game at just the right moment. The uploader of this video made it look like a cake walk! 🤣

It's always seemed kind of weird to me that SHODAN got the weird proto-Annelid contamination on the bridge. I kinda feel like she'd probably want that stuff well away from the sensitive computer equipment hosting her, seeing as moisture and live circuits don't really get along very well.

Never played the game, is that speed he's keeping up actually ingame walkspeed or is he doing some sort of technique to achieve this doomlike pace?
He was using a sprinting module in this video.
if you notice he acquires an item called Turbo motion booster system, it basically turns your shoes into hover shoes and you can zip around quickly with them at the cost of not being able to strafe and your movement is really floaty, but you can turn it off or on anytime you want

WTF? I thought if you died in a grove it was game over because groves don't have regeneration points?!?! (Whenever I did difficulty 3 you definitely died) ** On an end note... why has not anyone done a no death run of this game? In other words beat the game with all 3 difficulty settings and never respawn **
you cant respawn out of beta. but you can while in the others.
Only Beta grove deaths are game over even with the cyborg conversion off, the rest you revive when you die

Because he's going for the fastest time possible and harder difficulty makes it take longer.
@@nathanwhiting5475 I understand the concept of a speedrun, I just don't respect it if it's not on hardest. Majority of speedruns are on the hardest difficulty. It was kind of a rhetorical jab.

@@MosoKaiser fully aware, it makes it so anyone can have a "world record" as long as they come up with a randomly named category for themselves
With the forced deaths it's cheats, no real run.
forced deaths are fine, saving and loading near locked doors or walls so it can load you on the other side of them feels kinda cheaty though
