Hello 😁 how much more would you say that wireless pcvr drains the battery over wired?? Even with a normal cable and over the same resolution and fps?? Thanks!
The best actual option for PCVR which I find out - is wireless. - you should have separate wifi-6 only for your quest 3 (or maybe additional router connected with main router with Gigabit Ethernet), in some cases you can try just with main router if you didn't have to much devices on it - PC should be connected with gigabit ethernet with main router for internet (and your router and ethernet port on PC should allow gigabit connection) - on quest and pc use Virtual Desktop - they are the best for PCVR, they use their own protocol which is REALLY GOOD You will get way better result then a cable, with full PCVR graphics, without stutter and you can stand and move freely) HL Alex, Elite Dangerous and VTOL VR - is just beauty in this setup
I use a 5Ghz cable purchased originally for my Q2 and have had no issues. You also need to plug it into a high speed USB (Red) port on your motherboard.
This is old news and for veterans in VR like me, and to be expected. Us old hats, and experienced users are used to Meta/Oculus taking their time to optimize the software for each new generation of Quest headset that comes out including the Airlink, just like it takes game devs a year or so to know how to optimize games for the newest consoles from Sony and Microsoft. Have a bit of patience and Meta will optimize and address the Airlink issues and much more. The link cable I bought off Amazon, is maxed out at 2.5 gb and works just fine for me right now and I don't have any real issues.
Hi. The below is in the description of the JSAUX (charging) cable: "Note📢: Not compatible with charging while playing on Quest 3; charging and VR experience can be done separately."
Hey does it really make a difference since the maximum bitrate allowed is 940 mbs which is not even 1gbs? I have a 3d party cable that does 2.5gb and the image is super clear.
I’d rather future proof my cable to link, but that’s just me. Prices are also more or less the same so I’ll need to rest and see if it makes a better impact.
It does make a difference. I find that the cable testing in oculus app sometimes overestimates the capabilities of the link cable. I have run into audio glitches in the past even with proper speed cables.
For the record the Oculus link cable performs around 2.3Gbps and not 5. I have several cables and have never seen above 2.5 Gbps and this is on a USB 3.2 20Gbps port so no limitation due to it. The other limitation is the encoding on your video card and decoding on the HMD(Nvidia>AMD in this case). The least of which is impacted by any cable spec'd as USB 3 Gen 1 or higher.
@@DevDocXthat's right. I don't have one myself, but I've seen a number of RUclipsrs who have also achieved around 2.3 Mb/s on the genuine oculus cable.
Did you actually test any of the cables or are you just quoting specs? Some of us on Meta forums are having Link cable issues now on Q3 at high bit rates
No am making you aware that there are better cables than the one I was sent by our affiliate partner that I been using on the Channel. I'll be doing videos later once I get the 10Gbps cable later.
Virtual Desktop app + PC with gigabit ethernet + WiFi 6 for quest = the best result. And buy good ethernet cables is far simpler - but you will have the best result with PCVR without tweaking additional settings like with cables
Try moving your Wi-Fi router 5 to 10 feet away. Some antennas require a little bit more distance for the initial radio wave sweet spot that will get you away from the dead zones too close.
i just bought a high rated third party cable for mine. recommended to me by a friend. and like any new consol/device it will take time to iron out software bugs. nothing launches bug free at launch.
PSA according to the quest 3 specs the max data bandwidth for the type c port is 5gbps anyway so it's not really taking advantage of cables with a higher bandwidth. Also when it's Gb it's gigabits, gigabytes is GB
Also another bottleneck is the i/o on the PC whether it's USB 3.0,3.1,3.2 etc. so the fastest cable won't necessarily make a difference depending on the setup. Also also, at least with the meta battery head strap the passthrough port is only for charge not data so you can't have the extra battery plugged in and a link cable at the same time
I just don´t know what´s the point in reviewing cables when it´s common sense that quest 3 WON´T work with cable links. I´ve got meta quest 3 and it´s been one month without using it on pc because no cables work on it. The pc just won´t recognize it no matter how I try or set everything developer mode, restarts, resolutions, nothing seems to work. I have a RTX 3080 and I´ve played Assetto corsa competizione for more than one year and I finally bougtht quest 3 so I could see the potential of it but no luck.
I bought iniu canle recently for quest 3 its suppose to be 2.5 gbps and kas charge input so battery stays at 78%. It avtually did thkeep battery charged but thr sound quality is crackling and hraphics stink i sent it back
I personally use the Onn 16' Optical Link cable I got at walmart, and it works great, considering it was half the price of the official cable. I get 2.3 Gbps on the speed test with this cable using the front case USB-C port on my Asrock B650 mobo.

When are you going to play a PCVR game on a non meta device again? Please consider the market...
Hello 😁 how much more would you say that wireless pcvr drains the battery over wired?? Even with a normal cable and over the same resolution and fps?? Thanks!
Hi, excuse me, on the website, in the specs they say that is not compatible with quest 3 for both charging and gaming....did you try?!?
After 2 month, where is the test or at least a link to a cabel wich is "the best" for this headset?
The best actual option for PCVR which I find out - is wireless.

I just want to know did it charging when it's plug in or battery drain less ?
Whoa, at 1:39 how did you get the like/dislike buttons to glow RGB? I've never seen that!

what link cable are you using?
Hi. The below is in the description of the JSAUX (charging) cable:
"Note📢: Not compatible with charging while playing on Quest 3; charging and VR experience can be done separately."
@vressentials Future proofing is always a good thing. It would also be good to know if it makes a difference right now.

FYI. It’s giga-bits per second. Not giga-bytes. 1 byte = 8 bits. :-)
Lol, not surprised. Amateur hour here. Emergency!!!
I think it's also important to mention that transfer speeds and charging capabilities are also limited by the motherboard's port type and version
Will take note when I get the cable thx!
Need at least 5gbs most cables are 3 to 4 thousand mbs and also needs to be USB 3.2
Virtual Desktop app + PC with gigabit ethernet + WiFi 6 for quest = the best result. And buy good ethernet cables is far simpler - but you will have the best result with PCVR without tweaking additional settings like with cables
so what cable is considered a good cable?
I've never heard of JSAUX until this video. I'm looking at buying a Q3, and i'll consider this cable for my VR needs
Did you test the cable as i have just ordered one
Try moving your Wi-Fi router 5 to 10 feet away. Some antennas require a little bit more distance for the initial radio wave sweet spot that will get you away from the dead zones too close.
I got this cable and connected it. It connects and disconnects again and again in a loop.
i just bought a high rated third party cable for mine. recommended to me by a friend. and like any new consol/device it will take time to iron out software bugs. nothing launches bug free at launch.

the jsaux charging function does not work at all with quest 3!
Oh really? Interesting!
I just don´t know what´s the point in reviewing cables when it´s common sense that quest 3 WON´T work with cable links. very good in depth video, many people face these unexpected technical problems all the time, thank you
Begging your viewers to watch the whole video for your own analytics lmao

Does anyone have a cable that can charge my quest 3 and play pcvr at the same time
My link cable has crazy compression and the image is dull compared to VD with godmode 4090
You need to explain USB 3 standards and the speeds. Rather than just saying 5gbps!! 10gbps!!! This will only confuse your viewers
The way you speak kind of reminds me of Christopher Walken with less pauses..
You waiting for a cable . That's what this was about ? Ok
I use the jsaux cablw that has two usb c and one usb a
Byte = 8 bits. GB is gigabytes, Gb is gigabit.
Such a pain to get any solid info out of this video...
Meh
@vressentials great way to interact with your viewers 🤡
I use a Thunderbolt 4.0 cable
2500 Gbps, emmm the decimal point is the difrens here of x1000 or 100000% inaccurate😂 sorry I can’t help it, this video was maybe bit rushed
2:03
i knew it was the cable ..
Gigabits, not gigabytes ffs
Shut up and get to the point
Just in time for me to cancel my order. Thank you!
