I was raised Catholic. Then as a young adult, I realized all of that indoctrination was wrong and I deprogramed myself from Catholicism. I wandered this world for a couple more decades knowing something was wrong in this dark world, but couldn't pinpoint what it was. Ten years ago, I became seriously ill. Mainstream medicine made me worse, so I had to find out how to heel myself. Through all that, I learned how REALLY messed up this world is and realized I had to deprogram myself from even more crazy indoctrination that being in this world brings.
Maneuvering through this world confused me and then one day I read Ephesians 6:12. And then I read Romans 12:2. Those two scriptures fit me perfectly and something just snapped and I saw the truth. The bible is real. We never read the bible, so there is no way I would have known.
So, through the glory of God, I was saved just three years ago. Happy as can be ... but fell for all of the rapture stuff ... and now, I realize I have to deprogram myself from all of that malarkey. Hahaha. What a crazy life.

I would simply say that I’m not a scholar, I haven’t had the opportunity to go to school and study Hebrew and Greek like yourself but one thing I can tell you is I still remember the moment 24 years ago where I died to myself and was born again in Christ my saviour. That moment of regeneration was the most amazing experience ever in my life. I know what Paul’s means when he talks about the veil being removed from the mind. 2 Cor. 3:14 I just want to say that there are other great scholars out there that come to a different conclusion then you.

As someone who’s very much in between… I do not believe in pre trib rapture and haven’t for many many years.. but as I’m studying all of this, I am finding it so hard to land in the post mil camp… I feel like a lot of gymnastics are taken to get to the final point of post mil but I’m willing to be wrong that’s why I’m studying it…
For me, it’s really like there’s “ already and not yet” going on, that it can be true for both.. yes much of the prophecy is already fulfilled, but some that either has not been or will be fulfilled again in a new way…
I personally do believe in a a new heaven and new earth! So I am a little confused about it all…

Instead of saying Old Covenant New Covenant we should instead say "shadow" and "Reality.
There has always been one gospel in the entire Bible, which Acts 13 will confirm, and Israel was used as a shadow, an example, on why we so desperately need Christ.

Homiletics comprises the study of the composition and delivery of a sermon or other religious discourse. It includes all forms of preaching: sermons, homilies and catechetical instruction. It may be further defined as the study of the analysis, classification, preparation, composition and delivery of sermons.

I think they are a confessional church, so you could start by reading what the 1689 London Baptist Confession says about Roman Catholics. You can also listen to the many debates Dr. James White has done in engaging Roman Catholics, because he is one of their church's elders.

    • @specialk7715
      @specialk7715 5 лет назад

Yes, that’s more something Dr White talks about and deals with!
You really should watch his debates with Roman Catholics, there are tons of them!
But Apologia studios teach and hold to “Sola Scriptura” and “Tota Scriptura.”
They follow only what God has revealed about himself, in his inspired word.
They are reformed Baptists and strongly believe in reformed theology. They also teach it using the word of God.
Jeff is a post-millennialist and Dr White is Amillennialist.
But all believe the same when it comes to the fundamentals of the faith, such as..
“The gospel of Jesus Christ and his teachings, they believe strongly in apologetics (hence the name) and that his word should be taught and preached to everyone and all nations, as Christ commanded.
Along with the deity of Christ, the Trinity, salvation by grace through faith alone in Christ, the final resurrection and judgment.

Couple of issues. Where are the coast lines for ships in Jerusalem? It's not on the coast. Also there is too much "hyperbole" we would have to ascribe to in Rev 22 that looks to be taken literally. Respected Chuck Missler once said he was guilty of not taking the scriptures literally enough. I don't ascribe to pretrib but I don't feel led to believe the following is hyperbole: Rev 22:3-5
    3There will no longer be any curse; (there is still the curse and we all feel the weight of it even if we are not under it anymore) and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him;
4they will see His face (hyperbole?!), and His name will be on their foreheads.
5And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.(come on now, really, I just turned my light off and the sun is rising I hope in the am. Oh and the wilderness is not a bad place. John the Baptist resided there, more than likely as to keep himself from the idolatry of those that resided in Jerusalem. The wilderness is where God refines us to find what's in our hearts that takes the place of Him. Deut 8:1-5. If Jesus' wilderness was necessary prior to ministry and He was sinless how much more you and I, especially if we're called to ministry?! Wilderness is a good thing, can't get to the promise land rest without passing through, how long is up to how long we keep the idolatry in our hearts. "I will sprinkle clean water on you and you will be clean... Ez 36...wilderness is for the cleansing of idols, refiners fire, baptism into His death, salted with fire, tempest, and so on. I would like to humbly offer a few things... Luke describes the abomination that causes desolation as "Armies that surround the city" (LK 21:20), Also many preterist would tell you that the fatal head wound is Nero's suicide. The resurrection is not of Nero, but of the reign of Caesar continuing. What I mean by that is, when Nero committed suicide around 68A.D. the empire was thrown into chaos, and very nearly collapsed. This is why the Roman armies surrounded Jerusalem in 66, but turned back in 68, and returned in 70. Nero's suicide was a fatal blow to the Roman empire that should have ended the empire completely, but the line of Caesar carried on.

Angelanosya First of all.. Jeff did not go through the whole book of Revelation, he only read parts of 2 chapters to give us an idea of what it’s referring to.
So please don’t say that it does not line up or that it’s false. Because you are bringing up topics from other chapters, that Jeff was not even discussing!
Like the antichrist, which is not even mentioned in the book of Revelation at all!
1John 2:18 is a letter to believers 2000 years ago, and John tells them..
“Children, IT IS THE LAST hour, and as YOU have heard that antichrist IS COMING, so now many antichrists have come. THEREFORE WE KNOW THAT IT IS THE LAST HOUR.”
So he was telling them 2000 years ago, that THEY knew and heard that the antichrist was coming.. That THEY were in the last hour!
So if they were waiting for the antichrist, 2000 years ago and THEY were in the last hour.. How can we be??
And as I said...the antichrist is not mentioned anywhere in the book Revelation, and the “mark of the beast” is not even associated with the antichrist, so why are you saying that he has to come, in order to make that happen??
The mark of the beast has nothing to do with the antichrist whatsoever! A lot of people think it does, because of so many people miss interpreting the teaching of scripture and following a false view. But if you actually pay attention when reading the bible, you’ll notice it actually doesn’t.
Show me where it speaks of the antichrist and the mark, in Revelation or anywhere in the bible.. you won’t find it!
And Jeff has already explained many times, that the “mark of the beast” is not literal! People in the Old Testament had to have the “mark of God” on their foreheads and their right hand, which was not literal. It was just a symbol of devotion, of who they worshipped and belonged to.
The mark of the beast, just meant that people gave themselves over and their ownership to Rome, also on their right hands meant by their actions!
We all know that Nero demanded worship.
Satan is bound now.. As in he cannot stop the gospel from spreading to the nations! Not that he just won’t be around AT ALL and nothing bad will ever happen!
And we are not the most sinful generation either. All the evil that’s around today....was all happening thousands of years ago, maybe even worse! Why do you think God had to flood the entire earth and kill everyone on the planet?? Destroy a whole city with fire, because of their wicked and homosexual acts!??

    • @trailrvs
      @trailrvs 5 лет назад +14

For example, over fifty people mentioned in the Bible have now been confirmed through archaeological discoveries. While archaeology is notoriously partial and incomplete, it does offer us “touch point” verification of many Biblical claims, including the claims of the Old Testament. Here are just a few of the more impressive findings related to the Old Testament:
      Related to Belshazzar
The existence of Belshazzar, king of Babylon, was once doubted by critics. Belshazzar is named in Daniel 5, but according to the non-Biblical historic record, the last king of Babylon was Nabonidus. Tablets have been discovered, however, describing Belshazzar as Nabonidus’ son and documenting his service as coregent in Babylon. If this is the case, Belshazzar would have been able to appoint Daniel “third highest ruler in the kingdom” for reading the handwriting on the wall (as recorded in Daniel 5:16). This would have been the highest available position for Daniel. Here, once again, we see the historicity of the Biblical record has been confirmed by archaeology.
      Related to David
Skeptics once denied the existence of Kings David and Solomon, or believed them to be very minor tribal leaders, if they existed at all. In 1994, however, archaeologists discovered a stele (a monumental stone slab) near Tel Dan in Northern Israel. It dates to the ninth century before Jesus, and was apparently placed in this location to celebrate the victory of the Aramean king over the armies of Israel. Importantly, it bears an inscription which refers to the “House of David,” confirming the fact that David reigned and established a dynasty.
Related to Hezekiah (and Possibly Isaiah)
Archaeologists investigating the southern part of the wall surrounding Jerusalem’s Old City found a dump dated to the eighth century BC. It contained many clay imprints and seals, and one of these displayed the “Belonging to Hezekiah (son of) Ahaz king of Judah.” On an additional seal discovered at the site, archaeologists found an inscription that said, “Yesha ‘yah[u].” In Hebrew, this means, “YHWH is salvation,” but in English the name inscribed here is “Isaiah.” Some experts believe this is evidence of the Biblical prophet, Isaiah, given the close proximity of the two seals and the connection between Hezekiah and Isaiah in the Old Testament narrative.
      Related to the Hittites
The historicity and cultural customs of the Patriarchs have been corroborated in clay tablets uncovered in the cities of Nuzi, Mari and Bogazkoy. Archaeological discoveries in these three cities have confirmed the existence of the Hittites. These findings also revealed an example of an ancient king with an incredible concentration of wealth. Prior to this discovery, skeptics doubted such ancient affluence was possible and considered the story of Solomon to be greatly exaggerated. This discovery provided an example of such a situation, however. Solomon’s prosperity is now considered to be entirely feasible.
      Related to Josiah’s Governors
Archaeologists have discovered a well persevered seal impression that was made by the Governor of Jerusalem and dates to the 7th Century BC, during the reign of King Josiah. This is consistent with two references of governors in 2 Kings 23 and 2 Chronicles 34. Experts aren’t sure if the governor who used the ancient seal was Joshua (as described in 2 Kings) or Maaseiah (as described in 2 Chronicles).
      Related to Nebo-Sarsekim
There are thousands of “lesser known,” relatively unimportant characters in the Bible who would easily be overlooked if archeology did not continue to verify them. One such person is Nebo-Sarsekim. Nebo-Sarsekim is mentioned in the Bible in Chapter 39 of the Book of Jeremiah. According to Jeremiah, this man was Nebuchadnezzar II’s “chief officer” and was with him at the siege of Jerusalem in 587 BC, when the Babylonians overran the city. Many skeptics have doubted this claim, but in July of 2007, Michael Jursa, a visiting professor from Vienna, discovered Nebo-Sarsekim’s name (Nabu-sharrussu-ukin) written on an Assyrian cuneiform tablet. This tablet was used as a receipt acknowledging Nabu-sharrussu-ukin’s payment of 0.75 kg of gold to a temple in Babylon, and it described Nebo-Sarsekim as “the chief eunuch” of Nebuchadnezzar II, king of Babylon. The tablet is dated to the 10th year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II, 595BC, 12 years before the siege of Jerusalem, once again verifying the dating and record of the Old Testament.
      Related to Nehemiah’s Wall
Skeptical historians once doubted the historicity of Nehemiah’s account of the restoration of Jerusalem that is found in the Bible. Nehemiah lived during the period when Judah was a province of the Persian Empire, and he arrived in Jerusalem as governor in 445 BC. With the permission of the Persian king, he decided to rebuild and restore the city after the destruction of the First Temple by the Babylonians (which occurred a century earlier, in 586 BC). The Book of Nehemiah records the completion of this wall in just 52 days, and many historians did not believe this to be true, since the wall itself was never discovered. But in November of 2007, the remnants of the wall were uncovered in an archaeological excavation in Jerusalem’s ancient City of David, strengthening concurrent claims King David’s palace was also found at the site. Experts now agree that the wall has been discovered along with the palace. Once again, the Old Testament has been corroborated.
      Related to the Philistines
Skeptics once doubted the existence of the Philistines, the ancient enemies of the Israelites. But we now have an early description of the Philistines, discovered on the Temple of Rameses III at Thebes, in Egypt. This structure is dated to approx. 1150BC, and the inscription found there describes the Philistines as “peoples of the sea.” The engraving also says the Philistines invaded the Delta area and the coastal region of Canaan, establishing a number of cities. Most of these cities have now been escavated and match their Biblical descriptions: Ashkelon, Ashdod, Gaza, Gath, and Ekron.
      Related to Sargon
The historicity of the Assyrian king, Sargon (recorded in Isaiah 20:1) has also been confirmed, despite the fact his name was not seen in any non-Biblical record. Archeology again proved the Biblical account to be true when Sargon’s palace was discovered in Khorsabad, Iraq. More importantly, the event mentioned in Isaiah 20, Sargon’s capture of Ashdod, was recorded on the palace walls, confirming the history recorded in Old Testament Scripture. Fragments of a stela (an inscribed stone pillar) were also found at Ashdod. This stela was originally carved to memorialize the victory of Sargon
