Thank you for your teaching! For over 50 years living as a Christian i thought I had it right...But I couldn't have been more wrong. Jeff, you are truly blessed by God because you have a gift. I will be listening to this particular lesson at least one more time and every one around it if until I have a strong enough grasp on what I learned today. Wow, it all makes per perfect sense now! And it's so much better this way. I'm actually excited by the prospect of a new Bible study course...🙌 PRAISE GOD!
The kingdom is a work in progress. It BEGINS as an inner kingdom in the hearts of men but will literally come to earth when the resurrected Jesus returns to rule from Jerusalem for a thousand years. His teaching is false.
Good sermon, but the comment about the world being renewed at 18:27 ... that doesn't quite connect with the following verse to me. Revelation 21:1 states And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
@@justkenzie unfortunately kingdom now theology is one of the least biblical outlooks for the end of times outline. I would advise reading through revelations yourself with prayer, then look at the arguments for each end time perspective and then see whether they hold any water with regards to the bible.
@@Madhatter675 I'm not sure I know exactly what "kingdom now" theology is... is that the belief that we are somehow capable of bringing God's Kingdom here ourselves...?
@@justkenzie pretty much and that we are setting it up for Christ to come. I personally find this very dangerous and misleading. It doesn't mean that the people who believe it are unsaved, I just take the rest of their teachings with a chunk of salt.
Yes, the kingdom of God is in us through the new covenant. But the FULLNESS of His kingdom where we see evidence in the physical will only be realized when Jesus breaks through the clouds is seen by every eye. Revelation 1:7 While there is still injustice in the earth, the kingdom has not yet come in FULLNESS. Is this statement contradictory to what Jeff is preaching? I am trying to understand his views of eschatology. Correct me if I am wrong.
I love when he claims that the futurist interpretation of end times is more gnostic. I am not so sure he understands what the gnostics believed. even the apostle paul when referring to the end times called it the blessed hope. oh and the book of revelation is almost universally accepted as written around ad 90 or so. the only way preterism can be true is if it was written as almost one of the first new testament writings prior to the destruction of jerusalem in ad 70.
Kevra, very good observation & question ! Jesus Christ's reign is upon David's throne @ Gods right hand - it's a heavenly Throne and to the surprise of some, not an earthly one. You can see this in Psalm 110:1, which is the most quoted OT verse into the NT, referenced over a dozen times by the Apostles as evidence Gods Kingdom has come to stay and transform the world: Psalm 110 Of David. A psalm. 1 The Lord says to my lord:[a] “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” 2 The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of your enemies!” From that Throne, Christ is Now administering His Kingdom by pouring out His Holy Spirit & working thru His body, the Church, "Zion". One of the BIGGEST, if not THE biggest error in Christianity, is thinking God only expects a "mild" effort on our part to try to SEPARATE ourselves from sin. Oh yes, He FULLY understands our plight--but His HUGE BEAUTIFUL HEART ACHES as He "sees" our CONTINUED CARNALITY. We seem to think we can just go on the SAME way EVERY day--every month--every year, and simply say, "Oops, sorry Lord, I'll try to do BETTER tomorrow." Does anyone "OUT THERE" even CRY OUT, "Lord--SEARCH MY HEART, if there be ANY DECEITFUL thing IN me--DELIVER ME!" My guess, not too many. We are too bogged down with the "cares of life." But, Glory to our Mighty God--there ARE those who are seeking Him "WITH THEIR WHOLE HEART." THEY are the ones who will TRULY FIND Him. We can stand/sit around PREACHING--sounding so WISE and MATURE--but INSIDE we are STILL quite unprepared for what's COMING just ahead. Good brother's and sister's, BRACE yourself--there's a STORM coming! "Judgment comes FIRST to the HOUSE OF GOD." THAT verse is ALSO "skipped over." LOVE--PERFECT LOVE--will WIN them--not an over-abundance of preaching. I still need a LOT OF WORK done in ME! PRAY for the churches--for your Pastor! He is the one demons want to stumble. Lift them UP in prayer! My love and prayers go out to you.
Much eschatological confusion grows from a refusal to acknowledge the paradox of the kingdom (and the Christian life). For example, we gain our lives by losing them and those who are least in the kingdom are the greatest. Christ's kingdom is here now...and not yet. What human event could be more decisive than the death and resurrection of the divine Son of God?
A perfect rendition of the gospel of the Kingdom of all prophecies fulfilled in Christ and His Body. It should be translated into all the languages because it sums up the truth and exposes the lie of futurism and millenialism, used to deceive the believers that do not know their Bibles. May God bless your brother 🌳
Lie of millennialism? The Millennium is still coming, it will be after the first resurrection of the dead.. and we will reign with Christ on earth for a thousand years.
@@TheDroc1990 Amillennialsts believe in a Millennium. Just not the way Premillennialism teaches it. We believe that those who were martyred for Jesus in the 1st century (and onwards from there) come to life in the intermediate state and reign with Him until the resurrection of the dead at the end of the age. Amillennialsts have an unfortunate name to their theology but we don't deny the 1,000 years of Revelation 20. We just view it differently. Some say the millennial reign is what Christ does through the church on earth during this age. However, the text doesn't mention that. The text is specific to those who were slain. Revelation 20 doesn't mention any of the common things Dispensationalists teach. It's all about those that were slain for their testimony of Jesus.
@@TheDroc1990 I love Sam Storms. I own his book Kingdom Come. He is what helped shape my theology when I came out of Dispensationalism. I quote his ideas often.
Yes, the kingdom of God is evident in our hearts through the new covenant. Yet, the kingdom of God in it FULLNESS is not yet realized until Christ returns and every eye sees Him (Second coming Revelation 1:7) This has not yet happened. As long as injustice is still operating in the world the Kingdom of God has not yet come fully because under His reign evil will be judged. Is this a contradiction to what Jeff is stating? I am trying to understand his views on eschatology.

I agree with Jeff on a great majority of points and I pray that God blesses him and his ministry but I don't think the "Sola Scriptura" argument is satisfactory and here's why. When you look at the near 40,000 plus denominations of specifically protestant/reformation churches, all claim that they are following Sola Scriptura and are inspired by the Holy Spirit but yet near all of come up with different doctrines and beliefs. The Holy Spirit surely is in many of these churches but the Holy Spirit also doesn't change, and it's for this reason I'm confused as to how the Protestant can claim to have the inspired word of God speak directly to him with no outside criticism or critique by those of greater understanding simply because the text speaks to him directly. Clearly the Holy Scriptures aren't as clear as many make them out to be otherwise we'd all come to the same conclusion. In saying all of this, I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and I believe it to be wholly true but what exactly the truth being conveyed in different sections is where I disagree. Until modern protestants begin to form some kind of cohesive structure of argumentation there will be continual fracturing that will be never ending. Even Paul wasn't a lay man but was a student of the Old Testament/Torah and so he was familiar with the highly academic nature of studying yhe scriptures and the established meaning of various scriptures and utilized his rabbinic knowledge to interpret the Revelation of Christ to write much of the New Testament. So in this knowledge I think that our sober logic and greater use of our critical thinking abilities. I believe many Protestants fall under the definition of being under "prelust" which is essentially spiritual delusion and self deception that we all can agree (as an example) that Mormons fall under and perhaps even Joseph Smith himself. Leading oneself to be spiritually misguided. This comes from an Orthodox Christian standpoint mind you and not a Roman Catholic one, I am fully accepting of variations in theological discussions seeing as the orthodox church itself is very varied in it's internal discussions regarding certain areas that don't have a clear meaning (this is an area where the Protestant is much more like the Roman Catholic than he might be aware of, a legalistic understanding of scripture rather than a mystical one). God bless all who reads this and understand my genuine critique, I apologize if some of my ideas are under developed and may even be misrepresenting the other side of this discussion. I am open to discussion and critique.
You answered your own question about Protestant churches when you mentioned the "variations in theological discussions in the orthodox church". It is no different than that. Also, some denominations choose to ignore clear teaching of scripture while they will observe others, which causes separation by those who want to follow scripture. Using images in worship is one. The Bible clearly forbids that because God cannot be represented with any man- made image. All images are false representations of him and an insult to his glory: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:"Exodus 20:4; "Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God."Leviticus 26:1; "Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen" 1 John 5:21. Roman Catholicism and The Orthodox Church both ignore this severe warning from God and claim their teaching "authorities" (Magisterium) are more trustworthy than reading what the word of God clearly says and doing it. Jesus also said, "And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven." Matthew 23:9. Yet many churches, under the guidance of their "wiser authorities" name EVERY teacher, "Father" in direct defiance of this command. Jesus also instructed all men to study the word of God themselves as their guide to life: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4. The Holy Spirit is the true "magisterium" of the church, not any man or group of men. "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:.." John 16:13. This is the main cause of divisions and it is not necessarily a bad thing. Some groups are following the Bible more closely than others. The sinful nature of the "flesh" still lingers in the hearts of saved Christians and sanctification is a lifelong process. And, there are "tares" sown in every denomination who are unsaved people. Many of these become leaders in their denominations and openly teach error. Catholicism claims to sacrifice Jesus Christ again in every mass when the Bible clearly teaches his ONE sacrifice on the cross atoned for sins forever: "For by ONE offering he hath perfected FOR EVER them that are sanctified." Hebrews 10:14 There is nothing in the New Testament that teaches a "mystical" interpretation of the word of God. God used clear words to communicate with men and there is no reason to assume they do not mean exactly what they say in most of the Bible, except when they are used as an analogy as they are in some cases, especially the book of Revelation.
Or how about this part of Zion... “People will build houses and live in them themselves - they will not be used by someone else. They will plant vineyards and enjoy the wine - it will not be drunk by others. Like trees, my people will live long lives. They will fully enjoy the things that they have worked for. The LORD says, “I am making a new earth and new heavens. The events of the past will be completely forgotten. Be glad and rejoice for ever in what I create. Regarding Matthew 28, Paul said, “For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ” (Colossians 2:5). Does this make him God as well?
This sermon, I'm not so sure about. I will keep studying the scripture. But for now, I'm not 100% with this way of thinking. So Pastor Jeff is a Post Millennialist???
Why did the entire church forget about this until the 16th century? The Didache, written in 80ad, shows the church believed this was a future event. The second century church father's, in the very early 100's, wrote that this was a future event. Why didn't John, the last living Apostle, correct this error? How did they miss it? How is it that the first person who realized what happened didn't figure it out until the 16th century? This lie from Hell is leading many right into the arms of the Antichrist. I knew many would say, "Where is the promise of His coming", I just didn't expect it to be the church.

I’m also confused on why you left out the word “pestilence” when reading Matthew 24:7... is it because it is not able to fit into this theory or do you have a translation that took the word out?...
I’m also curious to why you pointed out the word world being supposedly mistranslated in Matthew 24 but ignored mentioning the meaning of the word world in Isaiah 13:11 which absolutely without question means world. Did God punish the entire world in the time of Isaiah or could this possibly be future prophesy?
Isaiah 13 is speaking of “The day of the Lord”. This is when He will punish the “world” verse 11. In verse 12 it speaks of a man being made more precious than gold, did that happen already? I’m just really confused about how this theory can fit anywhere into scripture. I’m very willing to listen to any Biblical argument but this seems to not fit almost anywhere. Thanks for your time!
I believe I heard his voice this morning "I am not in the present and I have no lordship over you." I prayed for God to lend me his foolishness and his weakness, and when I heard this , I immediately thought of Jeff's eschatology of the kingdom being here now. What I received from the Spirit contradicts this. For I confess and believe in my heart that Jesus is the son of God, died on the cross and was resurrected, ascended to be seated at the right hand of the father and sent his Holy Spirit to be amongst those who believe.
OK, I am beginning to feel like the 6 year old kid who just learned that Santa Clause is not real... Does Chilton attempt to reconcile the various eschatological differences variously represented by the books and authors I cited? I suppose I could also throw in Voddie Baucham into the mix as well, but his eschatology seems to fall in line with that of Durbin.
Lawrence Stanley. I seriously doubt they can be reconciled. Durbin's view is closer to the 7 Mountains doctrine and aspects of the New Apostolic Reformation.

I grew up playing Atari, so bear with my analogy... I look at it like this - the cartridge (the world) is designed to play perfectly (no sin), but because dust exists in the world (sin), it will inevitably but slowly begin to collect and to build upon all the surfaces of the cartridge, often without us even realizing it; given enough time and the right exposure, and it will even begin to collect on the pins inside the cartridge, and when enough dust builds up on the pins, the game just won't work as intended, and all hell breaks loose on the screen... So, there will come a day when the owner of the game will take the cartridge, and with the breath of his mouth, he will expel all the dust from the pins of the cartridge and restore the game to its intended state of perfection. And not only will he remove the dust from the cartridge, but he will remove all dust from any proximity to the cartridge whatsoever to forever ensure that there will never be any dust again. We don't get rid of the game just because there's dust on it and in it, after all, we LIKE Super Mario Bros., no, we simply remove all the dust and restore the game to its original purpose and function. I think only us Nintendo guys will get the "blow in the cartridge" reference, but it makes sense to me anyway. Cheers!

I’m so confused... are you saying that you believe that the new covenant wasn’t established until after the temple was destroyed?... do you not believe the covenant came by Jesus dying and rising from the dead, rather do you believe that it comes by a destruction of the temple? Please clarify if possible because I’m really confused honestly...
May we introduce Jesus to those who do not yet know Him? Put Him on and learn from Him. Psalms 119:151 Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth. Jesus is The Word, John 1:1-5 The Word God spoke: Exodus 20:1 (His Spirit) The Word God wrote: Deuteronomy 4:13(His Covenant) and The Word God made flesh John 1:14 (Jesus). He is our example of The Trinity. He is The Law that hung on the cross and The Law that is written in the heart. Psalms 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. We do not work for our salvation, Jesus died and saved the world. But we can work for our protection from the plagues, those coming to steal, kill, and destroy, from deception etc.. There is nothing wrong with works for we are judged on our works. Faith without works is dead. Why would Jesus tell us to pray for workers, if no work is to be done? Isaiah 8:16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples. Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Keep the Commandments as He directs us in Deut.6:8-9 and He will teach you how to do them. If you "keep" just the Sabbath you break the seal. Break one law, break them all. The Testimony is the Sermon on the Mount given us from the mouth of Jesus upon the mount. With the law and testimony we begin the armour of God. The rest is found throughout the Scriptures, easy enough if you will do The Word. We also learn the voice of God. The Father spoke the Ten Commandments and The Son spoke the Sermon on the Mount. Come out of her (religion) and trust "in" Jesus. He will teach the children of God for He is The Word of God. May we all receive the wisdom of The Father in Deut. 6:8-9 and the advice of Paul and put on Jesus. Do all you do in Him. A free gift from God, gracefully accept Him. Don't just believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, serve Him. Our plea to all is to PUT ON LIFE. Let our faith work for us. Jesus, The Son is the seal of God, His Word, His Ten Commandments. He is your anointing, get in Christ. Remember, heart, mind and soul, not just the heart. Always use King James Version if possible. Not the N.K.J.V.. Stay away from any copyrighted Scriptures. We conquer our enemies, sin, and the world by coming together in our Lord Jesus Christ. Our peace is found "IN" Him. Do you have what it takes to enter into The Kingdom?
Study to show thyself approved. Thank you Lord for showing me this Deceiving message. I pray he doesn’t understand & not really knowing the truth and telling the congregation this madness!
Foolishness. Especially around 37 minutes where references Matthew 24:14 "the end of the age" as being already fulfilled because "this message" the (Kingdom gospel) has already been preached to the whole world. No way that can be true. There's over 270 group's of peoples around the earth who have never heard the Kingdom gospel preached to them and Christ specifically refers to his family as "ambassadors" who are to colonize the earth with kingdom culture to more adequately reflect His character and nature through the redeemed body of Christ. Our work is nowhere near done my friend. The Greek phrase for “all nations” is “panta ta ethne” which refers to all of the ethnicities or people groups of the world. Do not be deceived. You, born-again, spirit filled believer, ambassador, diplomat, heir and son - YOU are still called to be committed to the the great co-mmision!
if this is the kngdom of the messiah it is the most corrupt and morally bankrupt kingdom in history. even the body of christ is fractured and unable to be a positive influence. i love your apologetics but i am sorry you are way off in your eschatology. preterism renders Revelation toothless. it turns what is perhaps the greatest demonstration of God's raw power and justice into a mere footnote of history
Unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God...read differently you wont perceive its operation existence or effects. Check your Soul.... Gods Kingdom is indeed here now, He's leading us to victory over the world, the flesh & the Devil. If you can't see God at work in you & the world around you, you've got the wrong One. If you want to go a LOT deeper, then check out "Revelation, an Exegetical Commentary" by Robert L. Thomas. If you get the second work, knowing Greek is a great help, so you'll probably do great.
Brother, if I respond, it is ONLY in opinion because I have studied so many conflicting eschatological positions, and after hearing Durbin, I just don't know WHAT to think any more... After reading John MacArthur, I'm really convinced that there will indeed be a rapture of the saints, to take them off of the earth before a 7 year period of wrath upon the earth that God will bring upon godless people for one last opportunity for their repentance, after which, God will remake all of creation, both the "heavens and the earth" in a state of sinless perfection that the saints will then inhabit in physical form as we are now, but without sin.
Lawrence Stanley ya bro there are so many ideas out there. I just want to stick with the Bible and what I see Jeff is spot on not 100% in my eyes but way closer than most people.
If you want to see how insanely wrong this pastor is look up Jim Brown who defines all the words in the Bible Old Testament Hebrew and New Testament Greek!!
The real irony here is that while preaching "context," he proof-texted the verse and did exactly what he says we can't do... which is read our beliefs into the text. Read into Chapter 17 and let Peter, the disciple who heard those words and experienced it, in his second letter, explain what Jesus meant. Also according to the prophets, the kingdom is not here. According to Jesus, the kingdom comes at his return. (The parable in Luke 19 is one place.) I make no judgments on motives or intent, but the content of this message is error. Test everything.
So Jesus is coming soon? He told those in the 1st century He was coming soon! Did He mean 2000 years? Read your Bible and stop inserting your pastors theology into it.
Kevin we've got a long way yet to go about 800 generations more most likely - but you & I CANNOT imagine how much more peaceful, prosperous & blessed our lives are & the whole world is, compared to the world that then was 2000 years ago. MESSIAH Jesus HAS transformed it & will continue to do so. Isaiah 9:6-7
Acts 2:29-36 “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. 33Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. 34For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, 35 until I make your enemies your footstool.’ 36Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
AdamosDad how could there be a millennial kingdom when time ends when Jesus comes back??? The answer is there will be no post millennial kingdom it’s now!!
Right there with you, until the 21 minute mark where you say that Jesus is Yahweh. If the Creator tells me i'm wrong at the judgment, so be it. Saying "I and the Father are one" does not mean he is claiming to be God. In John, during the prayer for his disciples, he prays "that they may be one, even as we are one." One in harmony, one in purpose, one in spirit. He is our mediator at God's right hand, he is glorified and given authority over all things. How can Yahweh be "given authority" over all things? By whom? Who can GRANT anything to Yahweh? Is anyone above him, that should be in a position to provide him with this authority, as though he did not previously possess it? Jesus is not the Most High God. "Hear o israel, Yahweh our God, Yahweh is One." Believe what seems right to you. If you are a teacher, you will be held to a deeper accountability. For your sake, may you be right, and may I, a nobody, be wrong. And if we are both wrong, Let God be true, and every man a liar.
I like Jeff, but I think he is off with this. You would have to disregard prophecy from 2 Thessalonians, 2 Peter, and all of Revelation. There’s a lot of theologians that could rebut this sermon.
He clearly says Babylon. 😂 but in future texts he didn’t say no city or state brother. He is clearly talking about the whole WORLD. God bless you & REPENT!
lots of info here, some not exactly right. Lots of preaching by Jesus to Jews and the "kingdom they were expecting. "Kingdom of God" mentioned over 70 times in the NT. Also, Kingdom of Heaven mentioned over 30 times. These are different . Yes, we Christians and believing Jews are in God's kingdom now. This is clear. The Kingdom of Heaven, Jesus was about to establish but He was rejected by the Jewish leaders who also "shut the door" on the Jewish people they were teaching when they rejected their Messiah. So Christ came only as the suffering servant and sacrificial lamb though He was also prepared to come as King post resurrection. But they stoned Stephen.. (Paul was even right there! No wonder Jesus caused Him to suffer for Him so much!, Paul, as a Pharisee had the opportunity to NOT REJECT the Holy Spirit but He failed to do so). So the final week of Daniel was postponed and salvation was preached to the gentiles (Praise God!); Jesus will return after the church age (which is almost over) and He will go back to dealing with unbelieving Israel. This will be the final (7 year) week, the time of Jacobs Trouble... then it Armageddon and this will usher in the Kingdom of Heaven, the New Millenium, a physical Kingdom here on earth under Jesus.
Eph 4 [11] And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; [12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: [13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: [14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; The kingdom of God has been restored in our day, with apostles and prophets.
“Sola Scriptura”-except when it comes to the first 400 years of Gnostic philosophic speculation that gave us nonsense such as the Trinity. -except when it comes to embracing implicit Marcionism by stating that the Torah is irrelevant and choosing to observe Catholic holidays and days of worship instead of the commandments of God. -except when teaching the lie of the serpent to Eve, that we are inherently immortal and our sin does not result in death. -except when teaching that God's justice requires torturing sinners who committed a few decades of sins with billions upon billions of years of the most excruciating pain imaginable. We all like to think our pet theology is the most biblical, but yours requires a non-biblical, Hellenistic interpretive lens to derive in any way from the Bible.
The concept of the Trinity did not originate with Gnosticism. “Listen to Me, O Jacob, and Israel, My called: I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last. Indeed My hand also has laid the foundation of the earth, and My right hand has stretched out the heavens; when I call to them, they stand up together. All of you, assemble yourselves, and hear! Who among them has declared these things? The LORD has loved him; he shall do His pleasure on Babylon, and His arm shall be against the Chaldeans. I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him, I have brought him, and his way will prosper. Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord GOD and His Spirit have sent me.” - Isaiah 48:12-16
Read Justin Martyr's (110-165 AD) Dialogue with Trypho LXXX expressing his opinion that he and others believed in a millenial kingdom.. Premillenialism is not a new doctrine. What happened to the "Body of the Text". Do you deny the Bible has 'types' that are moved before judgement-Enoch, Noah, Lot.. You appear to throw out your own exegesis and hemanuetics for their doctrine.and suddenly need to spiritualize the text if you do not agree. Suddenly 1000 years needs to be spiritualized though it is mentioned in Revelation 6 times?m The Bible is precise- Daniel's 70 weeks predicts Christ's Jerusalem entry to the day (Sir Robert Anderson "The Coming Prince" 173,880 days. You are kinder to those who believe in a false god when you imply those that do not agree use a fictional novel to establish doctrine. Do you believe Israel is out of the picture? See Zech.8:1-3.

Good sermon, but the comment about the world being renewed at 18:27 ... that doesn't quite connect with the following verse to me. Revelation 21:1 states And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

You are exactly right . His teaching is false, very false!
Kevra Powell no you have it correct. Jeff is off on this teaching.

Jesus Christ's reign is upon David's throne @ Gods right hand - it's a heavenly Throne and to the surprise of some, not an earthly one.

What does this refer to??
Amen well put!
Dual fulfillment of prophecy, in my opinion.
I was about to say - these folks are Post-Millenial lol. They still believe in a Millenium. You're thinking of A-MILL. The Reformed position. :D

The Kingdom of God Is a dynamic, real, alternative society existing alongside this world’s culture, having another King-one Jesus.
Great Word !
Catholicism claims to sacrifice Jesus Christ again in every mass when the Bible clearly teaches his ONE sacrifice on the cross atoned for sins forever: "For by ONE offering he hath perfected FOR EVER them that are sanctified." Hebrews 10:14
There is nothing in the New Testament that teaches a "mystical" interpretation of the word of God. God used clear words to communicate with men and there is no reason to assume they do not mean exactly what they say in most of the Bible, except when they are used as an analogy as they are in some cases, especially the book of Revelation.

Why did the entire church forget about this until the 16th century? The Didache, written in 80ad, shows the church believed this was a future event. The second century church father's, in the very early 100's, wrote that this was a future event. Why didn't John, the last living Apostle, correct this error?

Isaiah 13 is speaking of “The day of the Lord”. This is when He will punish the “world” verse 11. In verse 12 it speaks of a man being made more precious than gold, did that happen already? I believe I heard his voice this morning "I am not in the present and I have no lordship over you." I prayed for God to lend me his foolishness and his weakness, and when I heard this , I immediately thought of Jeff's eschatology of the kingdom being here now. What I received from the Spirit contradicts this. For I confess and believe in my heart that Jesus is the son of God, died on the cross and was resurrected, ascended to be seated at the right hand of the father and sent his Holy Spirit to be amongst those who believe.

Lawrence Stanley Read David Chilton’s Days of Vengeance commentary on Revelation.

Cheers!

Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
Revelation 12:17
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Jeff always gives great edifying sermons but I have to say that this one in particular is extra great.
Study to show thyself approved. Thank you Lord for showing me this Deceiving message. I pray he doesn’t understand & not really knowing the truth and telling the congregation this madness!
Is this considered preterism?
ExNihiloComesNothing yes, partial preterism.
And it is partial because Christ has not returned in Glory yet, correct?
Correct
Colossians 1:23
if this is the kngdom of the messiah it is the most corrupt and morally bankrupt kingdom in history. even the body of christ is fractured and unable to be a positive influence. i love your apologetics but i am sorry you are way off in your eschatology. preterism renders Revelation toothless. it turns what is perhaps the greatest demonstration of God's raw power and justice into a mere footnote of history
Unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God...read differently you wont perceive its operation existence or effects.

Gods Kingdom is indeed here now, He's leading us to victory over the world, the flesh & the Devil.
If you can't see God at work in you & the world around you, you've got the wrong One.

How many comings “παρουσίας” of Jesus are there ??
Zachary,
Check out John MacArthur's book "Because the Time is Near." It's a great exegesis of Revelation. If you want to go a LOT deeper, then check out "Revelation, an Exegetical Commentary" by Robert L. Thomas. If you get the second work, knowing Greek is a great help, so you'll probably do great.
Lawrence Stanley what’s your opinion on the matter how many comings if Jesus are there ?
Brother, if I respond, it is ONLY in opinion because I have studied so many conflicting eschatological positions, and after hearing Durbin, I just don't know WHAT to think any more... After reading John MacArthur, I'm really convinced that there will indeed be a rapture of the saints, to take them off of the earth before a 7 year period of wrath upon the earth that God will bring upon godless people for one last opportunity for their repentance, after which, God will remake all of creation, both the "heavens and the earth" in a state of sinless perfection that the saints will then inhabit in physical form as we are now, but without sin.
A first and a second coming.
Lawrence Stanley ya bro there are so many ideas out there. I just want to stick with the Bible and what I see Jeff is spot on not 100% in my eyes but way closer than most people.
Hello
If you want to see how insanely wrong this pastor is look up Jim Brown who defines all the words in the Bible Old Testament Hebrew and New Testament Greek!!
I will pray that he studied more and prays and his eyes are opened to his error
The real irony here is that while preaching "context," he proof-texted the verse and did exactly what he says we can't do... which is read our beliefs into the text. Read into Chapter 17 and let Peter, the disciple who heard those words and experienced it, in his second letter, explain what Jesus meant.
Also according to the prophets, the kingdom is not here. According to Jesus, the kingdom comes at his return. (The parable in Luke 19 is one place.)
I make no judgments on motives or intent, but the content of this message is error. Test everything.
So Jesus is coming soon?
He told those in the 1st century He was coming soon! Did He mean 2000 years?
Read your Bible and stop inserting your pastors theology into it.

Jesus came in his Kingdom in the first century as the suffering son of Joseph, he shall come as the son of David for His Millennial Kingdome.
Acts 2:29-36
“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 34For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,
“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at my right hand,
35
until I make your enemies your footstool.’
36Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Amen!
"Hear o israel, Yahweh our God, Yahweh is One."
Believe what seems right to you. If you are a teacher, you will be held to a deeper accountability. For your sake, may you be right, and may I, a nobody, be wrong. And if we are both wrong, Let God be true, and every man a liar.
Jesus is God
When did the Torah go out from Zion? Do you teach it?
Yes. We do. Which is why you ought to get to know people before leaving behind a record of error and ignorance as you have done here.
I like Jeff, but I think he is off with this. You would have to disregard prophecy from 2 Thessalonians, 2 Peter, and all of Revelation. There’s a lot of theologians that could rebut this sermon.
Jeff is a False prophet/teacher, and for that I do not like him.
Kingdom of GOD is a government (ISAIAH 9:6)

[13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
[14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
The kingdom of God has been restored in our day, with apostles and prophets.
# Sorry MORMON man; You Are DECEIVED.
Why do you think there is yet another coming? This WAS the second coming
To a Christian who follows sola scriptura the Torch is irrelevant. It is not the Word of God.
