Pastor Jeff, thank you. I'm a 37yr old man whom in the past 9months, become so hungry for the Word. Using RUclips can be a scary tool for guidance on Scripture and healthy Christian motivation. But I have learned that through Christ in me, my Spiritual growth/maturity, it easier to desern evil and worldliness. Pastors that sprinkle Scripture were my beginning experiences. With your church I have gained some of the most profound simplicity's . That being, go to the Scriptures for everything. When I see you all going to the streets, I am often surprised at how much speaking to nonbelievers/apostites(given into-aithesist-agnostics-whatever) you all speak to me. How illuminated, my old self, is blindly toletated, by the new me in Christ Jesus. Just a bug thank you and I love you all. 2 yrs ago I would have called myself a Christian and you guys religious nuts. Today I am amazed at how much I too would have just been a nut. All thanks to God's Holy Spirit, Whom Teaches and enriches me everyday.
Wow. I've been grounded for screens and internet for a month. I'm 18. And this not home for me. I love it! I might even listen to it again sometime! Thank you Pastor Jeff and Apologia Church!
12:00 My demoniac ex made me listen to King without a crown because I became a Christian. I didn't know why or understand why I would enjoy it now as she said I would, but I do now. Please pray for Ariel Rice to know her Lord.
1 Timothy 3:15 "But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth."
Pastor Jeff, god is using you in amazing ways a lot of so called pastors have been very much corrupted especially with the ever changing world. I feel a lot of pastors are no longer even using scripture or when they are,are completely miss interrupting it to suit their wants and needs. God makes it very clear he does not change he is the same yesterday today and forever. No matter what year it is. I see in all your videos you never speak from yourself you always use the words of scripture to speak for you, you are a true follower of Christ and I am so thankful to our amazing lord he has lead me to your channel. God bless all the work you do and may he continue to guide and reveal himself to you and all us christians.god bless you pastor Jeff all the way here from New Zealand.
Amen, Gods Word is the Ultimate Authority and we need to stop being offended when it doesn’t line up with what we believe or want to believe and we need to have the Fear of God and truly look and see if what we do and believe offends God. Who’s umbrella do you want to be under, your own umbrella that is easily offended for your own desires or Gods umbrella which is always Just and Righteous, which is the same justice and righteousness that God uses and has never changed and is what has saved us. I choose Gods Umbrella!
Just to play devils advocate - which "traditions" that the Apostle Paul tells the church at Thessalonica to keep observing in 2 Thessalonians 2:15 are to be challenged? Peace.
@Iron Americana Depends on what you mean by "biblical". Just because something is in the Bible doesn't mean it is a requirement for present day believers. Stoning people to death is "biblical" too, if you get my point, as are many other things.
For those who don’t want to listen to the entire hour, he’s basically just defending the regulative principle of worship that was developed out of the Swiss reformation
I know this was 2 years ago so I'd like to know are you still an ass? Does it come off still as impressive to you to make grunts and congratulate your ego? 2 years later are you in Christ? 2 years later do you find expressions of the Word of God and attempt to take it over as the word of YOU? Are you now even MORE wise and intellectually impressive than you were here, mocking the words of a man reading God's word?
@@SuperrBoyful This truth isn't mean. Christ refers to people who are full of pride as equal or worse than an ass. Sometimes you need to call a donkey a donkey or a snake a snake.
Is the Book of Enoch apocryphal? The Book of Enoch is quoted in the NT, especially in Jude. Enoch is also where the term "son of man" originated. Enoch is canonized in the Ethiopian scripture and was also found among the Dead Sea Scrolls(a nearly complete copy and several fragments). The Book of Enoch is relevant whether considered canonical or not.
@@haagelousdagu2721 you are saying Enoch was written in between the old testament writings and the new... I really don't think so. It being found among the dead sea scrolls, buried in that period, with several much older fragments and at least 1 complete... how can it be already ancient when it was buried and be written then too? I've heard it discussed that some things were added, possibly during that period, but that hardly means written then.
Obeying traditons made by men is not needed. But if they are Apostolic traditons, one ought to heed those. As St. Paul says: So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by our letter. 2 Thessalonians 2:15
@@jeffaldridge5733 I don't think Paul was pointing towards Torah, as in the previous line (2 Timothy 2:14) he is talking about the good news, the new covenant and not the old covenant mentioned in the Torah. It couldn't be Torah, as it is written, 'by our letter', which would mean he is mentioning the epistles the Apostles have written. Which would, in present day be the Bible. Like wise, 'by word of mouth', implies those traditons 'taught by us (the Apostles)' regarding the new covenant made by Jesus Christ by way of oral preaching. Therefore he is referring to Apostolic Tradition and not the Torah alone. These Apostolic Traditions which were given in two ways - orally (by the apostles who handed on, by the spoken word of their preaching, by the example they gave, by the institutions they established, what they themselves had received - whether from the lips of Christ, from his way of life and his works, or whether they had learned it at the prompting of the Holy Spirit) and in writting (by those apostles and other men associated with the apostles who, under the inspiration of the same Holy Spirit, committed the message of salvation to writing) - was meant to be handed down to others so that the fullness of the good news was not lost (2 Timothy 2:2).
i was clarifying that mans tradition is exactly that. the new testament is a reflection or a revelation of the old testament , considering that there wasn't a new testament at that time. I'm not arguing or disputing. its just many people don't realize that every verse in the new testament is a paraphrase or direct quote from the old testament.not that it just jumps out at you but none the less. i don't want to be confusing ... it is just the way it comes about maybe kinda hard for me to find the right words to express what I'm trying to say so please excuse the absence of brain at this time +Edin Michael
I find it ironic that the majority of comments are about condemning this or that Tradition, or not doing x or y. Seems to me many either didn't watch the video, or they heard it, without actually listening.
Following this reasoning, we’d have to throw out the eight other Old Testament books-such as the Song of Songs-that are also not quoted in the New Testament. If we’re not willing to do that, we have to agree that the absence of a quote in the New Testament does not suggest that a book is not inspired. Though there are no quotes, the New Testament does make numerous allusions to the deuterocanonical books. For one strong example, examine Hebrews 11:35: “Women received their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release that they might rise again to a better life.” Nowhere in the Protestant Old Testament can this story be found. One must look to a Catholic Bible to read the story in 2 Maccabees 7. The idea that the early Church viewed the deuterocanonical books as Scripture is even more evident in the writings of early Church fathers like Clement of Rome, Irenaeus, Athenagoras, Clement of Alexandria, Methodius, Cyprian, and Origen. Moreover, these fathers cited these books as “Scripture” or “holy Scripture,” and none of the pre-Nicene Church fathers ever declares the deuterocanonical books to be uninspired or non-canonical. St. Jerome even tells us that at the Council of Nicaea the deuterocanonical work of Judith was considered to be a part of the canon of Scriptures.
You are using a circular form of reasoning to try and prove your traditions. The deuterocanonical books themselves recognize the Tripartite Hebrew canon already in existence before they were written. You need to study Ezra and the Great Assembly, the putting up in the Temple and the dirtying of hands, Ezra was Gods chosen to establish the Hebrew canon that Christ and the Apostle knew and quoted. Jesus utilized the established Hebrew canonical scrolls that were put up, in order in the Temple by Ezra and the Great Assembly and did not include the deuterocanonical books, Ezra was the Chief Priest of the Great Assembly, it was the Great Assembly that added Malachi after Ezras passing, on his authority.
Sirach etc are part of the writing. It is important to understand there was no final CANON by the Jews even up to the 5th century ad. Only when the church canonized the new testastment in 397 ad and also re affirmed deutercanon. So all Christians had 46 plus 27 until approx 1530
J P That’s not my position. Jesus came to fulfill the law. In the same way that He became our sin offering and we no longer sacrifice animals, He has also become our Sabbath rest. What Jesus said about the law...... Matt 23: 1 ¶ Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: 3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. 4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. Jesus called the law a heavy burden grievous to be born. Matt 11: 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. The commandments that we keep as Christians..... 1Jhn 3: 22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24 ¶ And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. 1Jhn 5: 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. So the old Law was said to be a yoke.... Acts 15: 5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. 10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? Gal 5: 1 ¶ Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. But the law of Christ is easy. He gave us rest from the old covenant laws..... Gal 6: 2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Heb 4: 9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Col 2: 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16 ¶ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Eph 2: 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 2Cor 3: 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 7 ¶ But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. 12 ¶ Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: 13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: Gal 5: 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 ¶ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 ¶ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. So as Christians we have rest from the old covenant law made up of 613 commandments. In the new covenant we follow the Spirit to love. That’s the law written on our hearts. The letter kills but the Spirit gives life. 1The 4: 9 ¶ But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. Read Matt 25:31-46. We are told by which standard Jesus will judge us. Sabbath keeping is not in there. It’s all about love. Btw, Abraham didn’t have the Ten Commandments either.... Gal 3: 6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 26 ¶ For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. God bless
Evan U Evan U blessed Sabbath. What does it mean by this: Mark 12:30The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. Where is this found? It is found in the first four commandments (Exodus 20:1-11) 31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. The second is the last 6 commandments (Exodus 20:12-18). I agree with you that Christ fulfilled this through His life, however fulfilled doesn't mean to be abolished. Christ was summing up in Mark, the Ten Commandments in two brief commandments and if people believe that the Ten Commandments had been abolished then that means that these two commandments spoken *which Christ says that there are no other commandment Greater than these* would also be abolished. Hence it would be ok to kill, to steal, to lie, to disobey our parents, to worship materials and or people, to take God's name in vain, to covet. Paul through his writings speaks on all Ten Commandments and the importance of them. I will say this though that we are not justified by the law but through Christ and what He has done and is doing for us right now. The sanctified life is keeping His commandments, which was His Pattern that He wants us to follow. (Christ said; If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.) Three steps: Justification, Sanctification, Glorification. Faith (in Christ) without works (works meaning actions) is dead (unsaved). Mark 12:33And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question. It was the ceremonial laws (sacrificing offerings and feasts all pointed to the cross and the Great Controversy between Christ and satan), that was nailed to the cross and was completed there. Our High Priest is now in Heaven working on our behalf during the day of atonement that we are living in. Christ is coming soon to take His people home. Those that still alive and those righteous that are in the graves. There are events that need to take place first but His coming is near. God bless you and I pray we will meet in heaven and on the new earth.
J P Jesus answered a question.... Mar 12: 28 ¶ And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 ¶ And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. He answered the question. The new covenant began after He shed His blood ..... Matt 26: 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Heb 9: 16 ¶ For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. So Jesus told those who were under the Old Covenant to keep th Old Covenant. He told His disciples the secrets of the kingdom..... Matt 13: 10 ¶ And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 ¶ He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. What Jesus taught His disciples in secret is what they taught everyone from the housetops once the new covenant began. So tell me what this passage means.... 2Cor 3: 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 12 ¶ Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: 13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: What is Paul saying had been done away with and abolished? Thanks.
I'm very thankful for Jeff Durbin, very insightful and a great ministry to unbelievers, the cults and women seeking abortions. Really blessed by him! But I have to take issue with his cessationism. Minute 50:00 onward. There are some matters of guidance, local specifics, which cannot be solved just by reading scripture. An example can be found in the passage below. And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. So, passing by Mysia, they went down lto Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. Acts 16:6-10. A question for my cessationist brethren. When do you understand the ‘last days’ to be?
The Bible itself confirms Church Tradition, see "Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle" (2 Thess., 2:14, English, Douay Rheims). Not only does the Bible confirm Church Tradition, but the Bible itself is based on Church Tradition, because Church Tradition determined which books are in the Bible, because there is no authoritative list of which books we should consider scripture in the Bible. Also, according to the Bible, Jesus gave the Apostles great authority: "And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven" (Matt. 16:19, English, Douay Rheims). New Testament authors frequently quoted from the Septuagint, a majority of the time, and the so called "Apocrypha" is part of the canon of scripture in the Septuagint. See www.catholic.com/qa/in-which-passages-does-jesus-quote-the-septuagint-and-where-does-the-new-testament-allude-to-the and also see theorthodoxlife.wordpress.com/2012/03/12/masoretic-text-vs-original-hebrew/ which, in addition to explaining the authority of the Septuagint text, also details the issues with the Masoretic text (a medieval Jewish text, which the Pharisees, who denied Jesus as savior, developed).
Sorry, the traditions Paul writes of are the gospel of Christ Jesus, you should study the word of God before you comment with circular reasoning to make your points. The deuterocanonical books were not part of the Jewish Bible in the time of Christ, you should study the book of Ezra, the putting up in the temple and the dirtying of hands. The deuterocanonical books themselves recognize the Tripartite Hebrew canon. You are making the classic Roman mistake of falsely claiming the keys to the kingdom were given to the Roman church, they were given to the Christian Church.
@@tricord2939 Nothing circular about it. 2 Thess 2:14 (Douay Rheims) clearly states we are to accept Church Tradition, passed on by those in Apostolic Succession (who received their authority from Jesus), along with the Epistles. Paul the Apostle himself was not a direct eyewitness to Jesus’s ministry on Earth, and the information he provides in his epistles is almost all secondhand information and received teaching (Church Tradition). Scripture itself is based on Church Tradition, later written down, and then the Church selected the canon based on Church Tradition which indicated which books were reliable. Protestants use a corrupted text, the Medieval Masoretic text (compiled by Mediaeval Jewish Rabbis who rejected Jesus) as a primary translation for their Old Testament. The Catholic Church gets its Old Testament Cannon from the Septuagint (an official translation in its day), with roughly 2/3’s of the New Testament quotes of the Old Testament coming from the Septuagint, with the Dead Sea Scrolls revealing the presence of the second canon (deuterocanonical books) with Hebrew translations, with the only missing book being Ester. The deuterocanonical books, which are in the Septuagint, contain Scriptural passages which support what Protestants consider controversial practices: (1) prayers for the dead (see 2 Macc. 12:39-46); and (2) intercession of the Saints (see Tobit 12:11-14; 2 Macc. 15:11-16). To find out more about Catholic teachings in Scripture, you can order a Catholic Answers Bible, which systematically points out Scriptural passages that support Catholic teaching and practices: www.amazon.com/New-Catholic-Answer-Bible-American/dp/1592761860/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=catholic+answers+bible&qid=1602945525&sr=8-3 I was a lifelong Protestant, and recently converted to the Catholic faith. For the sake of brevity, I am ending my comment here, even though I could go into greater detail about how Scripture supports Catholic theology. If you have any more questions, you can email me. God bless.
@@jamessanders2923 Happy to help, Jesus did not accept the deuterocanonical books as holy scripture, Luke 24:44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you-that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled”. Take note that Jesus was speaking about the written word, not tradition, The law=5 books, Prophets=13 books and the Psalms=4 books, 22 Old Testament books= 39 individual books, the difference in count between then and now is the way major and minor prophets were grouped and counted in biblical times. There is no “scholarly” evidence only theories, that the “canonical” books in the time of Jesus in Israel, in the Tanakh contained the “deuterocanonical” books, they were not laid up in the temple, you should study in a scholarly way, the laying up in the temple and making the hands dirty. Study The book of Ezra, Ezra canonized the Old Testament, the Bible of the time of Jesus. Roman Catholic and Orthdox scholars confuse the Jewish scroll, Tanakh about 200 years before Christ and the Christian Codex, Codex Sinaiticus, Codex Alexandrinus, Codex Vaticanus 300-400 years after Christ. In Matthew 23:35, Jesus says to the scribes and Pharisees “35 so that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar.” This chronicles, from the first book of the Bible, Genesis, to the last book of the Hebrew bible, the book of chronicles, the time of Malachi. This excludes the deuterocanonical books. Josephus writes “but 22 books which contain the records of all time, and are justly believed to be divine.” When studying the “deuterocanonical” books, it becomes obvious they themselves recognize the threefold canon of the Hebrew bible was in existence before the deuterocanonical books were written. Bringing this all to a logical conclusion, we know, without sola ecclesia, what Jesus himself and later, Peter, Mathew, James, John and Paul taught, the gospel. If you want to have knowledge of the true canon given to the world, study Ezra, Gods chosen to lay the Holy scrolls up in order, in the temple, this study clearly refutes your false understanding of the Jewish Bible in the time of Christ and the Apostle. As for the New Testament, start with second Peter, what did he witness, who was with him and what is he going to do. Once again you will learn your claims are refuted. Are you now claiming Rome declared the writings of Paul to be inspired by the Holy Spirit, be not reliable or accurate? Did you get permission from your bishop to make this claim?🤣😂😅 Are you now claiming there is something to be achieved through the praying to the dead and Mary that is unachieved through the finished work of Christ? You are not making any sense. Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but by me”. Are you now claiming he only kind of sort of meant what he said and His words the Holy Spirit preserved for all time are not accurate? Are you claiming when Jesus taught us to ask the father in his name, that he misspoke? As to the gospel a.k.a. traditions the apostles taught, Paul in Romans states, 1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, 2 which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures, Paul is referencing written scripture, not Jewish tradition, not Christian traditions, not secret traditions, but that promised in holy scriptures, see, it is written. Salvation is in Christ Jesus and no other. The God breathed word says Christ and Christ alone is the Redeemer, the Mediator, the High Priest, the Lamb of God. The writer of Hebrews tells us, in Christ Jesus we have a better testament, Christ Jesus is the eternal High Priest, no more need for earthly priests or mediators that will pass away. Hebrews 9:11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent, not made with hands, that is, not of this creation 12 he entered once for all into the Holy Place, taking not the blood of goats and calves but his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. There is no equal, no co-mediator no co-redemptorist. Jesus, In John 14:6 says “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” not the dead saints, not Mary, not through any priest, any man at any time, only through Christ Jesus. Here one must choose between Gods breathed word or the lies of Rome, choose wisely. Scripture has to be studied in context and in Toto, ie when reading The synoptic gospels, In Luke Jesus himself explains what he had to accomplish, why he came, the fulfillment of the Prophets, Law of Moses and the Psalms. We don’t need to rely on a false secret tradition, it is the full-filled written scripture that Jesus sent the apostles to teach, scripture, not some secret verbal tradition. Luke 24:44-45 Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, 46 and he said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And see, I am sending upon you what my Father promised; so stay here in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” Jesus himself “thus it is written”. It does not matter to Christians what people like Scott Hahn, Patric Madrid, Tim Staples, Jimmy Akin, Thigpen or Armstrong say in their false teachings, their so called sacred traditions, their conclusions that stray away from and detract from the true gospel can only be reached by twisting and adding to the gospel as Paul warned against, the gospel as taught by the apostles and Christ himself. Romes false private interpretations, doctrines and dogmas are anathema to the Christian Church. Let me know if you need further assistance All, the best
@@tricord2939 This link gives much more information on the inclusion of the deuterocanonical books. I believe there is a way you can even submit questions to them. They also run a radio show you can call into and ask questions: www.catholic.com/magazine/online-edition/answering-the-most-common-objection-to-the-deuterocanonical-books. For me, Jesus's successors on Earth (through Apostolic Succession) adopted the deuterocanonical books along with the other inspired works, to form our Bible, and since Jesus's authority is final, no more questions are necessary.
HerBeauty`sInsideOut The Ten Commandments is God's eternal law!!!!! We Christians should all obey and live by these guidelines! And when we break a commandment, than this is what the Bible calls SIN! (1John 3:4)
Church is the eye that looks through lenses tradition to unveil scripture, to obtain the true interpretation otherwise how can we sure our interpretation is correct. For example protestant views on baptism differ, views on salvation differ views sola scriptura differ, views on purgatory differ, on the Eucharist differ, views on justification differ views on the mass differ , some believe once saved always saved. Protestant views on mary differ , uniting church may infer not all scripture is inspired and so on and so forth. Which protestant is interpreting scripture correctly?
So, as Baptists, from the Baptist tradition, is the Presbyterian tradition of infant baptism and unbiblical tradition and if so are those churches in sin?
There is a difference between traditions and Holy Tradition. Claiming a normal tradition is a Holy Tradition and treating them the same would be sinful. However, Holy Traditions are not necessarily explicitly mentioned in the Bible, but passed down through the generations from the Disciples and their successors. The Bible's Canon was not officially made until the 300s at the councils of Hippo and Carthage, after all.
Not true. Look at the gatherings and quotes from early church fathers. Most if not all the books had already been recognized as inspired documents long before Hippo. The books that are inspired by God are not thus because they were officially recognized by a council. The Council of Hippo did nothing but affirm what the early church already recognized, that being what books were in fact inspired. They did not hold authority to decide that, they recognized what was already true.
@@JQHNDi It's a bit more complex than that. Yes, the inspired books are inspired because they are inspired. They are not inspired because a council declared it so; they were declared so because they were inspired. Many of the Inspired Books were recognized as such, but some were called into question like John, and there were a variety of books that were considered inspired like the Shepherd of Hamas that are not considered as Biblical canon. Many of the books that were affirmed at the Councils, which used its authority to declare the Canon, were recognized as inspired, some were in question, and others that were considered inspired did not make it in.
1OO1O11O11O1O This is anachronism at its finest. There is no historical evidence that the councils were gathered to make authoritative claims. They were gathered to come to a conclusion as a church body. Not to authoritatively decide. Again, I go back to the fact that these councils were recognizing what God had already done, not using some arbitrary authority to decide *what* God had done. What authority would the church need to exercise if they were simply recognizing what was inspired? If a book was inspired, it made it in. There is no historical evidence that suggests they chose to exclude books that were universally accepted by the churches as inspired. I gather you are either Eastern Orthodox or Catholic. In either case, the idea that these councils had any authority in the church is not good news for you. I ask another question. If the councils decisions are to be accepted as the authoritative view of the church (whether you hold them or their findings authoritative is neither here nor there) then what are your thoughts of the many councils that gathered, had more bishops, and believed that the belief known as Arianism was the correct view of our Triune God after the Council of Nicea? Do they hold authority? If not why? Is it because they are not accepted as Patriarchs? Is it because the Arch Bishop we now call the Pope has said so? Or is it because the scriptures constantly reveal this to be the case, and as time went on the faithful children of God stood strong in the truth and overcame such heresies?
@@JQHNDi I feel you're being pendantic or do not understand what I mean by authority. There was no arbitrary authority. The authority of the Councils come from the Holy Spirit to reveal the Truths of the Faith. It is NOT some arbitrary body deciding that the scriptures are to be this because we say so, but neither was it some historical research club trying its best to guess what was Scripture vs what was merely holy and pious. It was led by the Holy Ghost to declare what was already inspired as being so. It is NOT the case that they merely said x was inspired, but they could have been wrong because they missed a crucial piece of historical evidence. It is the case that God led them to correctly declare the Canon. I have no idea what you're talking about councils declaring arianism. That simply isn't possible as the Council of Nicea declared the truth of the Trinity. Again, God is not a Trinity because we said so, but we said so because God is a Trinity and God led us to declare this despite it being the middle of the Arian crisis with so many priests and believers thinking Arianism was true. Because the doctrine of the Trinity was already defined at the Council of Nicea, there is no legitimate way that a later council could claim to change dogma on what we believe or what is true. This is because we know the Holy Ghost led the Council of Nicea to declare the truth about Him and what we should believe concerning Him. Note that it is not merely because Scripture is clear on some subject. In fact, the issue is that heretics can take Scripture and twist and interpret it in so many different ways. Instead, the Church should protect the consistent tradition passed on, including the correct understanding of Scripture, on throughout the ages. The Councils or Papal declarations do not randomly declare things, as though it was not believed but now is to be believed, but clarifies on what the Faith is. If there is some legitimate question prior to the declaration, that may be acceptable if it is something someone is not sure of. But after the declaration, what excuse is left?
1OO1O11O11O1O I agree with you that they were led by the holy spirit. Then where and WHEN did the cannon come into existence then and who decidede it? You originally stated that it was made officially in the 300s "The Bible's Canon was not officially made until the 300s at the councils of Hippo and Carthage, after all." But as we have discussed it sounds like you agree with me more that the cannon was made before time began by God, not to mention the fact that the cannon was already recognized, quoted, and agreed upon by the early churches long before any council came together to officially agree upon it. "I have no idea what you're talking about councils declaring arianism. That simply isn't possible as the Council of Nicea declared the truth of the Trinity." Please go research The third Council of Sirmium. More bishops were involved, a larger council, and it came after the council of Nicea. They confessed the heresy of Arianism. And what did Augustine argue was the main focus for discussion? Again I ask, what authority was exercised? The authority of holy spirit which both sides claimed to have? Or was it the authorty of scirpture and God preserving his truth that allowed for Trinitarian doctrine to be kept by the church?
Cortney Bocook You could technically go to Church everyday! But it is a SIN to work on God's holy 7th day sabbath, we have clear instructions in God's 4th commandment (Exo.20:8-11) We are to cease all secular WORK! And it begins with: "REMEMBER to keep the sabbath holy" So what's holier than going to church🤔? If your main worship day is Sunday, then you have a SUNDAY mentality, which originates with the false doctrine of the Roman Catholic Whore/Church! 👉 (SUN☀️DAY SACREDNESS) Sunday sacredness is an ancient pagan practice! In honor of the venerable day of the 🌞SUN, which was always celebrated on the first day of the week! This was later adopted by the Roman Catholic Whore, which then got spread out to Protestant churches!! REAL PROTESTANTS keep the Sabbath holy! NOT Sunday!!!! In obedience to God's 4th commandment! And in defiance of the "authority" of the Roman Catholic Church! Mark of the Beast will be a: U.S NATIONAL SUNDAY LAW! Jesus is coming soon!!!!!!!!!
Jesus says Matthew 4:4 Man should not live by bread alone but Every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Exodus 20:8 And God spake all these words
Wair but i just watched you say ok to christmas 🤔 knowing its pagan, the course of abijah in the bible tells us its his conception not birth. Love your ministry.
Because God is truth and has revealed himself through His word. To try and appeal to anything else outside of Scriptrue as your ultimate source of truth and for your ability to have and comprehend truth is a impossibility. You must presuppose the Triune God in order to make sense of life.
You said Gods character is eternal, unchanging and immutable. His law, the moral or the Ten Commandments are an expression of His divine character. You are correct about Gods character being immutable and so is His law. The new covenant experience is God writing this law on our hearts. The only one Christians have an issue with is the Seventh Day Sabbath. This will be the greatest point of controversy before Christ returns because it deals with loyalty and worship. The Sabbath was given to man before sin just as marriage was. Adam and Eve were not Jews. The Cross proves the Law to be immutable. If it could have been changed then Jesus could have just tweeked it and avoided the cross altogether. The real tradition is the one the papacy has given to the "church", Sunday sacredness. "Sunday is a mark of our ecclesiastical authority" says the Roman church. Blessing my friend.
piptaac101, just a couple points I'd like to make about what you said. Genesis 2:1-3 describes the Sabbath. Later in the chapter it says God made Adam work, but it did not mention him abstaining from work on the Sabbath. Chapter 3 has the fall (sin). So how can you say the Sabbath was "given to man before sin"? It doesn't look like any Sabbath directive was given in chapter 2. Now, I would say the 10 Commandments are special, because they came before the mosaic law (you can argue if it should be included in the mosaic law, but I'd argue the 10 Commandments are universal morals). So they deserve special consideration for us. So now we must use the New Testament (aka the New Covenant) to see how we should apply the Sabbath to our lives. Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. Colossians 2:16-17 ESV One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. Romans 14:5-6 ESV Some people take Hebrews 4 to say Jesus is our rest/Sabbath, but I will just use the 2 Paul quotes. So please don't pass judgement on a brother in Christ on this matter, because their abstaining is in honor of the Lord with thanksgivings. Paul says near the Romans passage: Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God." So then each of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. Romans 14:10-13 ESV But for your other part, you said "The cross proves the Law to be immutable." I will need some citations from you. My understanding is that the law was the first covenant (the old covenant/testament). Covenants end with deaths (see Jesus talking about the covenant of marriage not ending until the death of one of the parties) and Hebrews 9 lays out a long explanation of Jesus being the death that ended that covenant and started the new one. I encourage you to read that whole chapter (or even book!) but I'm providing the relevant sections here for ease: For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. For a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive. Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated without blood. For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, "This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you." Thus it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Hebrews 9:16-20, 23-24 ESV What do you think about this information? I look forward to hearing from you.
Just noticed your assertions about the Sabbath....the scriptures speak of us entering the "Sabbath rest" of God, and it is clear that in Genesis it is described how God created the earth in 6 days, and rested on the 7th day, which is the origin of the Sabbath. Clearly before the fall it existed. When man was formally told of it's existence is another matter, however you can imagine as God walked and talked with Adam in the garden He probably spoke of His creative processes.
Hello there. Thanks for your comment. I do understand your position but i think you missed my point. This goes so much deeper than we think. Why did God create another 24hr period of time? Why did he in Genesis 2, before sin, set apart or sanctify (to make holy) a 24 hr period of time? When God blesses something or sets it apart for a holy purpose then only He has the power to undue it, not man. God wont ever do that because He doesnt make mistakes. The Sabbath is a memorial of creation and i believe God created another day so that He could spend it with us. Relationship is the heart of the issue. Loyalty, trust, obedience and faith are all wrapped up in the Sabbath blessing God gave at creation. The Sabbath and marriage are the two institutions given by God, before sin, that Adam and Eve took out of the garden after the fall. Both are under attack by the enemy of souls. Is God particular when it comes to worship? Does it matter how or when we worship? We can ask Cain and Able that question. We can also ask Eve at the tree of knowledge of good and evil if God means what He says. Relationship is at the heart of what i am trying to say. The Papacy and her traditions have come in and tried to change times and laws, the seventh day Sabbath being one of them. The anti-christ power has done this in history over time. The change is not in the scriptures. All of our Godly Christian examples including Christ Himself kept Sabbath. Satan hates Gods law, as does his agency here on earth because it reveals Gods character. He rebelled against Gods law in heaven and is hard at work to erase its Holy influence on our lives here in these last days. If satan can remove Gods law then there is no sin, and if there is no sin, there is no need of a Savior and we become gods unto ourselves and will eventually die in our sins. Again, this is an issue of loyalty and deception of the highest order. Indeed we have surely made void the law through faith. Blessing my brother.
@@piptaac101 Sabbath is not an institution. Just because God told us the schedule of His creation doesn't mean that He commanded Adam and Eve to keep that day Holy. There is no such verse in Scripture to support that. You also should research to whom exactly he gave that commandment to. It wasn't to the Gentiles or other nations. Besides, if you still really want to go down that road, you should know that it is impossible to keep the Sabbath. Do you know all of the laws required in keeping the Sabbath? I bet you don't keep all of those laws. In fact, if you want to be legalistic, you aid in making others break the Sabbath. So you may want to consider that. Also, you seem to miss the significance of the 8th day. Why is that important? Research it as objective as you can. Furthermore, you ought to worship God every day. Any just because the Papacy are not faithful doesn't mean that those who fellowship on that 8th day (1st day of the week) are to also be considered apostate. You would have to condemn Paul and other disciples then. I have read the arguments for keeping Saturday and they add where the 4th commandment isn't and stretch other passages to support their idea. For instance, why did Paul have to wait until Sabbath to meet? Acts 13:44 Well, Paul was preaching to the Jews, who meet on the 7th day so naturally they would have to wait. Another question was.... why didn't Paul just tell the Gentiles to meet him the next day Sunday? There is an assumption people of today make... and that is that the 1st century church was like ours today. Sorry, but they didn't have a nice building to meet at. No, they typically held their Christian worship at a private home. So naturally, you just aren't going to invite strangers with whom you know little to nothing about to someone else's house, as I am sure Paul, or any other traveling Apostle, was staying with someone. And they definitely were not going to go into the Jewish Synagogue to start worshiping Jesus, though they did preach about him. Paul was no idiot. He knew the tricks having used them while persecuting Christians before his conversion.
Jeff, you are proclaiming the "right" interpretations of the bible. You are proclaiming the definition of what is scripture. Why should anyone trust you? As pastor, do you make decisions on what goes on in your local congregation? Can anyone in your congregation interpret the bible differently than you and still be in the congregation? Again, I ask, Who are you? From whom did you get any authority to bind and loose? The Spirit? Really? prove it. How would you prove it except by your own commendation? Remember: "For it is not he who commends himself that is approved, but he whom the Lord commends." 2 Cor 10:18
Great message!! BTW, David Blaine does IN FACT swallow frogs and he regurgitates them on command. Like swallowing swords, he's learned to control that part of his body; It's not an illusion or trick, it's discipline. However the lore behind the stunt (having them 'live' in his stomach) is of course untrue. But Blaine puts his body through rigorous conditioning in order to go the lengths that he does. That being said, he's done a bunch of fake things: bullet catch, holding breath underwater, all tricks. But he really does swallow the frogs before performance. Love Apologia!! Just had to defend a fellow magician haha.
Because hes in a spirit of error. 1John chapter 4. 1 John 3 explains what sin is clearly. Hes too smart for his own good. 2 Peter 3:16 they twist the epistles of Paul to their own destruction.
Because he is not an idiot. No Christian celebrates Christmas by worshipping pagan gods, you just made that up. Go live like a vampire in your basement because last time I checked pagans also worshipped the Sun so that means the Sun is evil now. Perfect logic.
I don't like that him and James White are Calvinists either but they do have lots of helpful ways of explaining other things. As for Christmas, celebrating it is not a big deal so long as you put Christ as the main point of celebration. We are not Jehovah Witnesses. Lighten up and enjoy.
DJ Anthony A I wonder if God felt that way when the Israelites made a golden calf to worship YHVH. Did he say "oh, isn't that a beautiful golden calf they are using to worship me?" Do not copy the Pagans to worship the Most High. Learn to do Bible things in Bible ways.
Psalms83:18KJV"That men may know that thou whose name ALONE is JEHOVAH,art the MOST HIGH over all the earth." Note please that there is but one named JEHOVAH. Note also that this one is the MOST HIGH. Thus if ones God is associated with multiple co'equals (e.g the trinitarian Jesus). He is not the Lord JEHOVAH.
Jeff, your are going to build God's kingdom you need to repent from your herecies and become Orthodox. Christ has One Church, not thousands of Christian sects. Your beard is ready, now come home to One True Church.
I haven't watched this yet so I probably shouldn't comment lol ... but I reaaallllyyyyy hope the many many UnBiblical Traditions contained within Christmas and Easter are addressed ... as well as Valentines Day, Satanic Trunk or Treat, and News Years, etc., many others. No? I'm a weirdo? Ehh yeah. Maybe I should watch the video. I just have a feeling. Lets see! (huge fan of the channel by the way. Dr. White and Jeff are role models for me to preaching the Biblical Sovreign Gospel - but we need to be honest about Christmas, Easter, and other days and ask if something given to another nations god should ever be for our God no matter what our intentions or how our "heart" is in the matter.) Just because we say that something gives God glory ... doesn't mean we should use it for such. What I mean by this if there was a Pagan Holiday dedicated to a pagan deity and then the Romans "Christianized" it ... that's not a win. That's not for the glory of God. That's Strange Fire. The Bible talks about Strange Fire and it should not be given to our God. Our God tells us how to worship Him in the Old and New Testaments and Easter Bunnies and Christmas Tree's AREN'T THERE.God Bless. Jesus did celebrate the Passover however and we should remember Him and do the same as the early Christians did before the Controversy wit the Apostle John and the West/East Church in the early days. Rome wanted to ban the Passover and celebrate it a week later. The Apostle John didn't agree, Polycarp records.
How about the UnBiblical tradition of Christians sitting passively by and listening to the same person lecture them week after week in the pagan Greek style of clever oratory, rather than the New Testament early church pattern of meeting house to house, sharing the Lord's Supper as a full meal in every meeting, and each in turn prophesying and speaking in a tongue, interpreting same, teaching and edifying one another as led by the Spirit!
so, you honestly feel that sola scriptura is possible? you don’t believe that you’re serving as your own magisterium? You’re offering up your own hipster eisegesis as an authority and pretending that a pure explicit scriptural text exists for all to read ... you condemn misreadings while condemning the Catholic Church for doing the same.
Like Sunday sacredness is tradition not biblical. You teach that u can steal, kill, lie, worship other Gods, take God's name in vain, commit adultery, covet, dishonor our parents...thats what u preach when teach that the moral law is done away with. Jesus said heaven and Earth will pass before His law. Wake up brothers and sisters..praying for us all. Why do u all keep sunday as Gods day? I need one text please and thank u..praying for us all...please people ask ur pastor where Sunday sacredness came from using Bible only without adding their own interpretation. Mark 2:28. And Isaiah 58. the Lord's day is the sabbath according to the Word. Its the only day in the Bible that God calls Holy. Please do this.
John 14:28 New International Version (NIV) 28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I Jesus says his father is greater. Boom. Trinity is a false pagan teaching. Jeff the false teacher
Does this guy actually spend time with his family? Seems like he is constantly making videos...you got 4 kids bro make sure you are around for them. Preaching Gods word is great and he commanded us to do this, but he also commanded us to be fathers!
mark toney The three angels of Revelation 14 represent God's people (messengers) on earth proclaiming His truth during these end times. Notice the words that this messenger uses above - "worship him that made heaven, earth, the seas and waters". Does God have a law that tells us who it is we worship and obey? Exodus 20:11 ...'For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.' Do you see the connection there? This message of Revelation 14, which also warns about receiving the mark of the beast (Rev. 14:9-10), is pointing us back to creation and the 4th commandment. Why? Because the sabbath commandment points us to our Creator God and is the only commandment which tells us who it is we worship. So when we honor the TRUE Bible sabbath (seventh day sabbath, Saturday). We are giving honor, worship and obedience to "Yehovah" as the TRUE God, who is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. So which command of God is Satan going to counterfeit? The sabbath commandment of course! Through counterfeiting this commandment and introducing a false sabbath day, Satan diverts worship from the TRUE God, Creator of the heavens and earth, to himself! This is vital to grasp! Please look at this with open eyes and ask God to guide you to His truth. This is so important.

1. Drinking LEADS to drunkenness...so why play with sin? 2. You think if Jesus was at a wedding today and pabst blue ribbon ran out that he went to his truck miraculously brewed heady topper and served it out to ALLOW sheep to get drunk and thereby sin???
Really? So the RCC's and Vatican (remind you) coverup over the decades of KIDS being RAPED by officials is nothing to bat an eyelash over? Still the only true church who protects those who RAPED KIDS. Stripped them of their innocence, mentality traumatized them for life, and likely have driven them away from believing anything any church person ever has to say again. The difference here from saying it's just isolated is that it's not. It's occurs numerous places over the world and the headquarters in the Vatican including the Popes knew and did nothing. So are you really going to defend them or say nothing to the current situation? Do you really think "the one and only true church" on earth instituted by Christ holding the "keys to the kingdom" and whatever they "bind and loose" would operate this way over the course of the past century or probably further back but nobody would have the means to go against the RCC? Please, say something as ludicrous as "it's unfortunate, but at the end of the day it's still the church that Mary oversees." Come on, are you going to defend your institution or children? And any one foot in and one out comments, I will shred apart. So do your best to defend your Vicar.
Brett Slaathaug What an angry, pitiful life you must live in. What do you think of yourself, the perfect man alive? Don't delude yourself, homeboy. Sin invades human nature. The genealogy of Jesus Christ even points to people who have committed grave sins. Evil is evil, but that does not change the fact the RCC is the Church founded by Jesus Christ. The fact that Jesus founded it does not mean that it can't have people within who commits atrocious sins. Have you even thought about all the good things that the Church has brought about in history, things that you will not hear from the mainstream media? Oh yeah, you're ignorant of that but you base your judgment of the Church solely by those bad things that the media is trying hard for you to see. Look into your heart, and you will see the selfishness in there.
I am a Crusader Since the RCC has things like Catholic Social Services that balances out the atrocities like the Vatican protecting officials who RAPED KIDS? That’s like defending Penn St over the Sandusky scandal or Michigan St with their trainer. I’m sure they did plenty of community outreach events over the years but it doesn’t balance or outweigh the fact they knew what these guys were doing to their students. You attacked me knowing nothing about me. The only reason you did it was because you have wrapped your identity in the RCC. So regardless of how you want to cut it, you are defending an institution that knew massive raping of children was taking place. Seriously, how do reconcile that. How can you even defend that on any level. If your fallback is that it’s the “only true church and I’m not going to be a Bible only Protestant” then you chosen to hang your hat on instituting that protects child rapists over the Bible.
Brett Slaathaug Brett Slaathaug HAHA. I don't care about your feelings because you are one angry deluded man who has wrapped his identity on being a Catholic-hating Christian. I can't even fathom how you're a Christian in the first place. A closet atheist, perhaps. Did you even read my response, angry Protestant? I said evil is evil. There's no going around that. I don't make excuses for anyone who commits crimes, religious people or otherwise, Catholic or not. The point is, if your argument is based on the utter lack of sinfulness there is no institution in the world that has that, even your own institution. Also, your ultimate reliance on the Bible is not even biblical and you Protestants are too smart for yourself you think you can interpret the Bible on your own, leading to so many denominations with so many different interpretations. Also, are you even aware of the origins of the Bible, or youre too busy hating on Catholics to even learn that?
The Church is the people, not an organized institution. So when catholics go out and do good works of faith to help others, awesome. But when those who claim exclusive authority to Truth and Salvation, do the things they do, then they deserve to be criticized until they actual do something about it. Calling evil is evil is no big admittance and does nothing in support of claim that the RCC is still only true church. Every time the RCC does this level of evil, they do nothing more than asking for forgiveness from it's people. Seriously, that's guarding the flock, "sorry we did nothing knowing everything." Have you ever considered the claims of the RCC of being the one and only church isn't backed up by the Bible or history. There's no continous papal line back to Peter in Rome. The church of Rome was ran by a plurality of elders like every church was called to do. You think that Linus, Anacletus, and Clement I held more authority than the Apostle John who was still alive. The only reason why advocates of Ex-Cathedra over Sola Scripture do so is because they know that Scriptures refutes their claims of ultimate authority. You call me what you want because that's your only option when truth isn't on your side. So if you want to give sending money up the ladder to the Vatican to keep protecting Child Rapists, then sleep well with that thought. I've been to the Vatican twice, I've seen those in desperate need outside of the walls looking for help, but never did I see any official or priest out serving them money, food, clothing, or shelter that have in abundance there.
Verifiable Historical Fact: Not one single Apostle taught a single Calvinistic interpretation. How do we know? Because we have the writings of the men the apostles trained who unanimously affirm that none of the apostles taught a single calvinist understanding of scripture. Which demonstrates that Calvinism is not biblical....and according to jeff is therefore sin.
Tyson Guess you make great generalizations about things. I admire your passion for Scripture but make sure your furry is aimed in the proper direction. The Apostles did not teach any interpretation, for it is their Holy Spirit directed writings that we are tasked with interpreting. Their writings are the source of knowledge. An interpretation is certain view of what the source meant. If right or wrong it still qualifies as an interpretation. Furthermore, saying Calvinistic doctrine is unbiblical is unjustifiable. Your “fact” that you mentioned is just your opinion. You may have your opinion but I hope you would be honest and express it as opinion rather then fact.

(Per.) “Whereas it is the will of God, that all whom he loves should partake of repentance, and so not perish with the unbelieving and impenitent, he has established it by his almighty will.’ But if any of those whom God wills should partake of the grace of repentance, should afterwards perish, where is his almighty will? Traditions? Like Sunday worship in place of the seventh day Sabbath? Like Christmas which is Pagan and you know it?. Like Easter which is even more pagan, and your smart enough to know its satanic. But your tradition overrides the scripture.
Relevant yes, but as you said, other than the Ethiopian Canon is not canonical. Son of Man did not originate in 1 Enoch, Daniel pre-dates it.

Obeying traditons made by men is not needed. But if they are Apostolic traditons, one ought to heed those. As St. Paul says:
So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by our letter.
2 Thessalonians 2:15
those traditions were tora, Jesus traditions
@@jeffaldridge5733
I don't think Paul was pointing towards Torah, as in the previous line (2 Timothy 2:14) he is talking about the good news, the new covenant and not the old covenant mentioned in the Torah.

Sorry about that...may be it was me not switching on my brain to understand what you were trying to say. LOL
Jeff you are correct tradition can't contradict scripture. However that depends on your interpretation of the said scripture
Sirach etc are part of the writing. It is important to understand there was no final CANON by the Jews even up to the 5th century ad. Only when the church canonized the new testastment in 397 ad and also re affirmed deutercanon. So all Christians had 46 plus 27 until approx 1530
So is the tradition of keeping Sunday instead of the Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset).
J P
Christians don’t keep a Sunday Sabbath. They keep Jesus as their Sabbath.
Evan U can you show from scripture when Christ changed sabbath worship to Sunday worship?
J P
That’s not my position. Jesus came to fulfill the law. In the same way that He became our sin offering and we no longer sacrifice animals, He has also become our Sabbath rest.
What Jesus said about the law......
Matt 23: 1 ¶ Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Col 2: 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 ¶ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Eph 2: 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
2Cor 3: 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
7 ¶ But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
12 ¶ Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
Gal 5: 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 ¶ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 ¶ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
What does it mean by this:
Mark 12:30The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Where is this found? It is found in the first four commandments (Exodus 20:1-11)
31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
(Christ said; If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.)
Three steps: Justification, Sanctification, Glorification.

Jesus answered a question....
Mar 12: 28 ¶ And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
29 ¶ And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
What is Paul saying had been done away with and abolished?

What about Christmas and Easter ?
Josephus writes “but 22 books which contain the records of all time, and are justly believed to be divine.”
When studying the “deuterocanonical” books, it becomes obvious they themselves recognize the threefold canon of the Hebrew bible was in existence before the deuterocanonical books were written.
Did you get permission from your bishop to make this claim?🤣😂😅
Are you now claiming there is something to be achieved through the praying to the dead and Mary that is unachieved through the finished work of Christ?

I want to hear what Jeff has to teach on this subject as well.

@@JQHNDi
It's a bit more complex than that.
You originally stated that it was made officially in the 300s "The Bible's Canon was not officially made until the 300s at the councils of Hippo and Carthage, after all."
But as we have discussed it sounds like you agree with me more that the cannon was made before time began by God, not to mention the fact that the cannon was already recognized, quoted, and agreed upon by the early churches long before any council came together to officially agree upon it.
"I have no idea what you're talking about councils declaring arianism. That simply isn't possible as the Council of Nicea declared the truth of the Trinity."
Please go research The third Council of Sirmium.
Look at luke he talks of three sections. The law, the prophets, and the writings

If you don't know anything, then how do you know this is a god's word?
Because God is truth and has revealed himself through His word. To try and appeal to anything else outside of Scriptrue as your ultimate source of truth and for your ability to have and comprehend truth is a impossibility. You must presuppose the Triune God in order to make sense of life.
Paul worked....as did the rest. Faith and Works....it's what Jesus would do.
Colossians 2:16-17 ESV
One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God.
Romans 14:5-6 ESV
Some people take Hebrews 4 to say Jesus is our rest/Sabbath, but I will just use the 2 Paul quotes.
So please don't pass judgement on a brother in Christ on this matter, because their abstaining is in honor of the Lord with thanksgivings. Paul says near the Romans passage:
Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God." So then each of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
Romans 14:10-13 ESV
But for your other part, you said "The cross proves the Law to be immutable." I will need some citations from you. I encourage you to read that whole chapter (or even book!) but I'm providing the relevant sections here for ease:
For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established.
Hebrews 9:16-20, 23-24 ESV
What do you think about this information?
Hello brother. Hebrews 4 is the Rest you are referring to i believe. Thanks for your comment. God bless.
Acts 13:44
Well, Paul was preaching to the Jews, who meet on the 7th day so naturally they would have to wait.

How about the UnBiblical tradition of Christians sitting passively by and listening to the same person lecture them week after week in the pagan Greek style of clever oratory, rather than the New Testament early church pattern of meeting house to house, sharing the Lord's Supper as a full meal in every meeting, and each in turn prophesying and speaking in a tongue, interpreting same, teaching and edifying one another as led by the Spirit!

mark toney The three angels of Revelation 14 represent God's people (messengers) on earth proclaiming His truth during these end times. Notice the words that this messenger uses above - "worship him that made heaven, earth, the seas and waters". Does God have a law that tells us who it is we worship and obey?
Exodus 20:11 ...'For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.'
Do you see the connection there?

There is only one true church founded by Jesus Christ: the Holy, Apostolic Roman Catholic Church.
Seriously, that's guarding the flock, "sorry we did nothing knowing everything."
Have you ever considered the claims of the RCC of being the one and only church isn't backed up by the Bible or history.
Let us therefore consider, brethren, out of what matter we are made; who and what we were when we came into the world, as out of the grave and darkness itself; who, having made and formed us, brought us into his world having first prepared his good things for us, before we were born,” (Epist. ad Corinth. 1:p. 88.).
(P) “This blessedness comes upon those that are chosen of God by Jesus Christ our Lord,” (Epist. ad Corinth. 1:p. 114).
(T) “All therefore are glorified and magnified, not by themselves or their own works of righteous actions, which they have wrought out, but by his will,” (Clement, Ep. 1, ad. Corinth. p. 72.).
‘not by ourselves, nor by our wisdom, or understanding, or piety, or the works which we have done in holiness of heart,’ but by faith by which God Almighty hath justified all from the beginning, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen,” (Ibid).
(I) “He that is chaste in the flesh, let him not be proud or insolent: knowing that it is another who furnishes him with the gift of contingence,” (Ep. ad Corinth. 1, p. 78.).
(L) “Making it manifest, that through the blood of the Lord there should be redemption for all those that believe and hope in God,” (Ep. ad Corinth. p. 30).
(P) “Therefore He (that is, God), being desirous that all his beloved ones should partake of repentance, confirmed it by his almighty will,” (Epist. ad Corinth. 1:p. 20.).
(P) “God hath chosen the Lord Jesus Christ, and us by him,” (Episi. ad Corinth. p. 130, 114.).
(P) “When he wills, and as he wills, he does all things; none of those things which are decreed by him, shall pass away,” (Epist. ad Corinth. 1:p. 64.)
(L) “Without love nothing is well-pleasing to God; in love the Lord assumed us to himself; because of the love which Christ our Lord hath towards us, he hath given his blood for us, his flesh for our flesh, and his soul for our souls,” (Ep. ad Corinth. p. 112.).
And how is this matter settled and established by such a will of his?” (Ep. 1, ad Cor. p. 20).

Quoting verses that you think support calvinism or reformed theology is not evidence that is how the verses are meant to be understood.
To establish that one would need witnesses that heard the Apostles hand those interpretations down to their successors and no such evidence exists; Which is why we know, with certainty, none of the Apostles taught Calvin's views (because if they did there'd be witnesses to it)
@@tysonguess lol what a cope. There's a ton more church fathers writings that state straight up biblical truth and irrevocably calvinistic. None of the verses can be seen in any other context
This pastor does not know his bible history. Jesus and the apostles quote Enoch which was "apocryphal" writing. However Enoch was in the cannon until the mid 1840s.
Calvinism is an unbiblical tradition lol
What's unbiblical about it?
@@brettgray8339
1.the fact the Calvinists says god's judgement is arbitrary.
2.the fact that calvinist say we can't be choose god(freewill)
3.Calvinism belief that God is so concerned with his glory, he forces ppl into hell
@@crippledtalk but it's biblical.
@@brettgray8339 how's that
@@crippledtalk have you read it?
Jeff Durbin has tattoos and the bible talks against tatoos
And when did he get them? Before he came to Christ or after? Easy to point the finger my friend and be critical in ignorance.
if you know anything about prison ministry practically everyone in prison is tatted, the bible talks about a lot of things people do but the good news is everyone living is eligible for salvation.
Traditions? Like Sunday worship in place of the seventh day Sabbath? Like Christmas which is Pagan and you know it?. Like Easter which is even more pagan, and your smart enough to know its satanic. But your tradition overrides the scripture. This man will not debate an Israelite, he choses weak minded christians who clearly dont understand the bible and dont have any interest in understanding it. Lol

Sabbath is on Saturday.
Mark 7 fullwell you reject the commandments of Yah that you may keep your own tradition.
Great sermon.
