    this was really useful for me. All my previous dogs had upright ears, and their ears never seemed to get dirty. My current three dogs all have floppy ears, and their ears do hold in moisture, so they're more prone to ear infections, and they seem to collect more debree in their ears. Even my vet didn't demonstrate how to clean my dogs ears, and all I could come up with was some finger swabs that are like a glove finger that you put on your finger. It doesn't really do a very good job of cleaning out their ear because my great big finger doesn't fit down into their tiny little ear very well. But I just didn't know what else to do. So, your video is EXACTLY what I've needed. Now, to go hunt down some ear cleaner and swab squares, instead of these stupid finger swab thingy's.

    Great information! I noticed some head shaking from my dog recently. I'm going to clean her ears and if necessary take her to the veterinarian.

    Great information!!! I have no idea how to clean my puppies ears after bath. I was basically winging it!lol Thank goodness I never went down into the ear canal to swab out their ears but I was wondering if I should for the longest time. Now I know and I do have some of that ear cleaner for cleansing too! Love these informative videos! They really do help us take good care of our pets!

    how can you be sure its yeast and not mites? you never mentioned smell

    • @My-hat
      @My-hat 3 месяца назад

      Without a cytology test you don’t know if it is bacterial or yeast or mites. You can’t clear or cure any of these just by routine cleaning. ESP, ‘natural’ It’s nonsense. You need prescribed medicine, antibiotic, anti fungal. Etc. .

    My dog gets these ear infections a few times a year. Her ear was so bad this time around and when the vet checked her ear (or “checked” I should say) she didn’t find anything “out of the ordinary”. We made an emergency appointment because my poor baby was in such distress and I checked the ear discharge and took a quick whiff and YEP. She has a bad yeast infection. We’re treating it now and it never EVER gets as bad as it did this year or this late in the year. I check her ears but this one started deep so I didn’t catch it. I feel so bad but she won the mend

      My dog too. They keep prescribing me drops for the yeast in his ears, constantly shaking them, scratching at them and cries while doing it. It’s heartbreaking!

      You need an anti fungal medicine. From the vet. If it is reoccurring they need to do a cytology test (they should anyway) to see exactly what is under the microscope and tailor the correct medicine towards the correct strain or if it’s bacterial etc same idea

A new set of eyes and diagnosis. Maybe it’s a resistant strain

    I have a rescue Shiba who’s v well trained & loving but if I try touching her ears she growls & has bitten once already. I don’t have 2 ppl. Since I will have to work with her ears potentially long term I don’t want to force a muzzle. I’d prefer to muzzle train but I need a way to clean them asap

    You should let the dog shake its head after massaging it in for 15 seconds before wiping away the debris so the dog can shake out more wax and gunk

    At home remedy: juice at least two cloves of garlic add it to 2 tbsp of olive oil add a few drops of oregano oil Shakewell and let's sit for a bit. Add at least 1/3 dropper full into the ear canal, squish around get a Q-tip clean out and repeat then add once a day until it's cleared up. Should only take a few days to clear up but I would go ahead and do it once a day for about 5 days to be certain. Caution: never use oregano oil alone it will burn, bad! You must have a carrier oil. I used olive oil you cannot taste the burn after you put it in olive oil

      Are you kidding? I never knew oregano oil even existed. Where the yell would anyone even get that. There are way more easier ways. Remember, a “hack” should be easy and less expensive.
