If you want to screen shot for future reference...
Home Remedies for Dog's Head Shaking & Scratching (red & inflamed, yellow discharge or black debris, yeasty smell... usually inflammation caused by allergies) esp common in floppy-eared dogs:
    1) For minor infections Witch Hazel with Aloe (anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antibacterial) can be used to swab out/clean ear, as an ear flush, or as drops by drawing ½ml into syringe (no needle) and place into ear canal, 5 drops= small dog/ 10= Lab size. Rub base of ear, will hear squishy sound as it works down into ear canal, 2Xdaily for 5-10 days.
    2) For more established infections use ½cup green tea steeped 20min to cool/warm (natural anti-inflammatory/ antibacterial) & 2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar (antibacterial, anti-yeast) and use the same way as above.
Can be stored in fridge, warm before using.
    3) 1 teaspoon each of OTCs Clotrimazole/ Canesten (most common antifungal in Vet meds), 1% Hydrocortisone (corticosteroid/ anti-inflammatory), and Polysporin (antibacterial) mixed well. Put about ¼tsp into base of ear & rub 2Xdaily (as with above remedies) 5 days for yeast (black debris) & 10 days for bacterial infection (yellow, smelly discharge). Room temp stable, keep covered.
Put cotton balls in ears when giving baths to keep dry, change out if they get soaked.
If they get water in ears, you can use Swimmer's Ear drops to dry them out to help prevent problems.
👋🤠Dr. Jones; if you see this, please let us know if these are safe to use for cats. Thank you 😻👍

@@omtatsat2011 yes unfortunately kibble like Pedigree and really all kibble can be the cause of yeast infections. But I understand your options are limited since you are in rural India. You can always try to supplement with fresh foods (meats, organs, raw meaty bones) you don't have to switch them completely to raw food but adding it as an additional food may help with their yeast infections (i am not a vet professional, I am only a dog guardian who is obsessed with dog nutrition)

I woke up last night at 11pm because of the sound of my dog shaking his head. He was shaking his head constantly non-stop. First time it happens to him. His left ear was red and hot, and the smell was kind of sweet. Immediately, I came to this channel....the only one I trust!!...I prepared the green tea with apple cider vinegar. I started to clean his ear, and I used 15 or more cotton swabs. First time I saw something like this. After I cleaned it, I applied the mix of green tea and ACV. Today, when I went to apply the second dose, I noticed cleaner, but still red. Now, I applied it for third time. I cleaned it first, and surprise...Nothing came out!!...Our dog has been all day without shaking his head. I said this is a miracle cure!!...I will do 5 days, and for the healthy ear, I will do it only 2 days. I think as a preventive measure, I will do the other ear because when they scratch, the infection can go from one ear to another.....Thanks and blessings to you!!

The last recommendation with the over the counter stuff is gold. I put all the ingredients in a bag and mix them thoroughly then put it into syringes with 4ml-5ml each and it makes about 12 which is enough to treat for six days twice a day. It makes it so easy to just squirt it in. I don’t shove it down the canal I just get it in the ear and squish it around like he recommends.

    Greetings from Florida !
What a blessing it is to have found you and I’m speaking not only for myself but for my 2 sweet dogs but also for a dog I just rescued from the streets in my neighborhood and she was starving to death and left out in 110 degree heat for at least a week that I know of. It took several days to earn her trust just to accept food even though she was starving. She’s finally coming into a safe room where it’s cool but scratches at her ears. She won’t allow a collar to be put on so I’m just trying to feed her and maybe do something for her ears.

    Number 3 OTC combination :
    Clotrimazole 1% - 1 Teaspoon
    Hydrocortizone 1% - 1 Teaspoon
Polysporin which has Polymixin & Gramicidin - 1 Teaspoon
Mix well & apply once a day in infected ear. I am writing this as a note to apply this for Summer’s ear- we tried the Apple Cider Vinegar but it did not help, the earmites got more. So hoping this helps. In this economy can’t go to vet again. I went to Vet & they gave me Animax- a prescribed medicine- even that didn’t help with the earmites, I clean her ear everyday, it is only her left ear. Hoping this one does the trick! Thank you thank you thank YOU!!! My poor dog has been shaking his head and looking miserable, but when I called the vet, the soonest they can get him in to see him is two weeks (no other vets in the area), or I can drive 2 hours to a veterinary emergency hospital that charges $1,000 a visit. I've booked the appointment in 2 weeks, but in the meantime, I was able to run to CVS and buy the over-the-counter meds to give the poor boy a bit of relief.

Thanks Dr Jones, today I'll try one of these remedies for my Labrador wich is having an ear condition for sometime. We've already been to our Vet of course and got the prescribed meds but after sometime that smelly jelly brown stuff has returned again, it seems very mild since he doesn't turns his head or other symptoms but while cuddling I've sniffed that smell of yeast and with surprise found his left hear with some of it again. The right one has never had any sort of issues, always been clear and nice.
I'll let you know if the green tea + apple cider vinegar will work it out 😉

We have a boerboel who os prone to seasonal ear infections. We adopted him a nearly 8 years old. His family were immigrating and couldnt take him along. He was traumatised at being left at our place, people he didnt know, and he would not walk with us for anfew weeks without trying to run away. It took months before we could put him in the car. Thanks to Dr Andrew, we have been able to sort his allergies with canesten. I will get the rest on the list. This time, his infection seems to not want to go, itnhas only been 4 or 5 days now. Our town is very prone to allergies as we r surrounded by orchards. Here in South Africa the vet is pricy too, even with pet insurance.

I just paid $85 to walk in to the vets office, an additional $40 for a microscopic slide (though we already knew it was yeast) and $25 for Animax, which doesn't help much. This was the second visit in 2 months, after paying $70 for a "one time treatment "administered by the vet, but she never told me I would have to come back every 2 weeks for it! Now, I will try the green tea and AC vinegar or the polysporin/hydrocortisone/chlortrimizol combo if I can find all the ingredients in my local pharmacy.
Next step, research the cause of these yeast infections and change her diet! Thank you Doc!

I went to the vet and all they said was to put vinegar and water. It still does not help the situation, and she has now Smelly, black ears because of the yeast. I’m assuming she’s in pain so I gave her Benadryl as per your
