Hello doctor and friends on RUclips, I noticed a soft lump under my dogs neck and we massaged it and it went away, a few days later she developed a hard lump on her cheek overnight it made her whole face swell she couldn't even see, I took her to the vet he said it was infection of salivary glands and prescribed antibiotics for two weeks and said for her to come back, I asked about draining it and he said no. 3 days later the huge lump ruptures, blood and pus everywhere (the office was closed I couldn't take her ) over 24 hours her face and neck drained. Only problem is now there is a gaping hole and I can see inside her, I took her back to the vet and he mentioned it being really difficult and he doesn't know how things are going to go because the skin is dead, he mentioned maybe doing surgery to cut off the dead tissue or she might have to go to a specialist to get a graft done but he said that can cost over 10k so that's usually the end for a dog. She is back to her playful self, eating drinking, you wouldn't think this is all going on by looking at her. But more holes are opening up on her cheek and draining pus. When we lesser mortals get our treatments ready for our pets, they tend to sneakily slink away. They do not lie happily watching the proceedings and then graciously let us pour gloopy gubbins down their poor itchy tiggies without fussing. My dog had such itchy ears, drops sliding down was more then she could bear. We massaged just like you did and then when we let go, she'd shake like crazy while the drops and fungal goo were sprayed all over us and the living room; Nice! Of course, then, we thought it was ear mites flying everywhere and maybe that was why she kept picking them up again? I love how helpful and entertaining you and your pets are, sharing your knowledge.
I TRULY TRULY appreciate you letting us dog owners know what and how to look after our own dogs and their problems it helps with the people who are not rich and saves the trip to the vet when we're capable of doing it for them ourselves and it's free somewhat but little things like these are easy to do ourselves with you and your information about how to do it and properly and safely and what to look for so I truly appreciate you doing these videos your a godsend THANKYOU my friend!!!🍁🇨🇦🍁💔❤️💋❤🐕❤👍👍💯✝️🛐🙏🏆🌹🏆
I al so Happy, that you talked about that , my dog suffers now from an ear infection. And here a cream from the doc is 40 Euro, and hand shaking another 35. So now I do my own medicine. I heard in the past canasten is the same. One canesten costs here in Spain 7 Euro. Can't thank you enough. How can I get your book. Because my dog has yeast coming out of the ear and looses his coat with circles, was red like allergy, but now has everywhere wholes in his coat , very scary. And I now the normal veterinary would do loads of tests and charge 400 Euro. So I try it all one. I looked your other videos and I hope he gets rid of it too. Love hugs and blessings to you You do a good job, you build a good karma for yourself
why don't you do a patch treatment. tea tree oil shampoo and add a little extra tea tree oil to it in an area and wash daily for a week, if it responds it is probably a yeast infection which it sounds like from the circles, google skin infection in circles. Dr Jones has some recommendation for it I'm sure.also clotrimazole cream for foot fungus , try in a patch area and cover if he's going to lick it

Share everywhere!! The vets are doing surgeries that leave dogs deaf for this common problem. They are over prescribing antibiotics making the ear infection way worse and then they say they need to operate. This happened to my friends little 3 year old bill dog and it was so so unnecessary for the dog to go deaf . 😢
Your dog is well behaved I have a pit bull who hates to have his ears touched. He jumps like a wild horse when I try to even clean his ears. Any recommendations please.
I just rescued a dog who you couldn't touch his paws or his ears and what I would do is constantly be petting him and then go all the way down to his feet and started to nose and go to the ears and now he will let me touch his feet and his ears and it's only been 2 months
Look into his eyes, and with your heart open and humble, explain to him that you want to help him. Tell him you need his help. You have to mean it. You may still need some help at first, but over time he will learn that it helps him feel better. Also what the other commenter said about petting him, giving him high value treats and making it a nice and gentle and fun game, and giving him special treats after for being so good.
My rescue pittie use to do the same when i tried touching his ears & paws. It's because they are already so sensitive. It took awhile but i got him to realize touch felt good then would sneak the meds quickly. He now seems to know that what I'm doing helps him & he feels better afterwards. He still shakes his head as I'm gently cleaning his ears. I patiently reassure him while taking time to clean & treat them. Sometimes, so it's not too much, i just do one ear at a time so it's not too much for him.
I have the same problem with my Pitbull girl!! First I gave her 300 mg of Gabapentin was her favourite food after one hour I put the muzzle on her face and very gently step-by-step she got used to with this procedure😂🤓...Good luck
This definitely helped my dog. It takes 3-4 days and I'm glad that I didn't give up as it's hard to see the dog suffering. Thank you so much Dr. Jones.

When I went to the store there were about 5 different monostats w different ingredients 🤷♀️🤷♀️I don’t think any had micanazole. I found a very small generic 😀 It served to help but then I had to go away for the weekend. Gotta start over again.
This is good to know! My dogs have rarely had ear infections, but I have always used a mix of equal parts of 3% peroxide, 71% isopropyl alcohol, and 5% vinegar (this has the effect of diluting all the ingredients). I pour it into their ears and then get to take a shower in it. I've seldom had to do more than I couple treatments. I've joked to friends I suggested the treatment to that I can't be sure if the treatment works or if the dogs just get smart enough not to shake their heads around me... I've used the same treatment on myself (with good success) and can understand their discomfort, so it's good to know this more gentle treatment for future use! Thanks!
I use to use peroxide on my own ears, so i thought it was fine to use on dogs & cats until i found out that it's harmful to the delicate skin of their ears. I had thought the raw skin was due to the infections. Afterwards i realized the peroxide was doing it. Then the alcohol & vinegar, sounds too strong, dangerous & toxic to use in their ears.
It is too strong, our that solution on your arm and wait 5 min the peroxide made me itch because it dries out the skin. Don't be surprised if you dog goes deaf. That is damaging Even in humans when using peroxide to flush the ear wax it is diluted.
@@christinafolmsbee4212 You missed that by mixing the three together, each is diluted to a third their original concentration. By pouring a large quantity in the ear, the entire ear is wetted, but the dog immediately shakes its head to remove the liquid, and continues to shake until little remains in the ear. The liquid and vigorous shaking act to help eject any foreign bodies and dirt. The dilute alcohol and peroxide have different antiseptic properties and the vinegar balances pH. I've seldom had to treat more than once and usually the dog is over it the next day. It was a vet that advised me this many years ago... Is there a better treatment today? Maybe...
@@Scaliad It is not diluted unless you mix it with water, I drink the 1 tbp 5% vinegar in one cup of water and it is still very strong and have to drink it thru a straw so you don't damage your teeth. try it and see how strong that is even diluted . If you are diluting? an acid with peroxide and alcohol that is not diluted putting 3 very strong and irritating substances together. They sell ear wash for dogs, you could look up the ingredients and make your own. even better Dr Jones might have some recommendations. I think you might have misinterpreted that vets advice. he probably said dilute with a certain amount of water. when irrigating human ears we used peroxide but always diluted with water. If you put that solution on a cotton ball and tape it on your arm after 5 min you will see how severely irritating it is. and the inner ear skin is not as strong as your arm EVEN if the dog shakes his head he can't get that out totally and it continues to burn like hell.If you tried it on yourself you wouldn't use it. Years ago they had salonpas gel for arthrits and I was going to use it on my dog for the pain. I used it on my arm first and immediately returned it to the store, it irritated so much I wouldn't use it any more for anybody. Google ear wash for dogs , someone said on here you shouldn't use anything in there ears. . .

What a good dog! My dogs just hear me grab the cotton balls and they head for the hills!
Mine do too lol. They high tail it under the bed
Same here 😂😂😂
Same as me , he runs a mile 😂
Mines too. She leaves her body print in the door 😂
I thank you for ur info. Vet visits r quite steep.
Thank you so much! I was going to call my vet today and make an appointment. Will try this instead!
Bless you!!
Dr Jones has some recommendation for it I'm sure.also clotrimazole cream for foot fungus , try in a patch area and cover if he's going to lick it
Ringworm - loses coat with circles. Luckily canesten treats this as well ❤
Thank you so much for all your recipes for food and medicine for my babies!I've learned a bunch from you and I'm thankful for your channel! Thank you and God bless ❤
I have followed you for quite awhile. You have saved me so much money. Thank you so much. Your the greatest
We’re going to try the krill, quercitin and the cbd oil … fingers crossed. The costs of returning the vet has been outrageous despite my best efforts 😭😭 I feel horrible for my pup
45pm colloidal silver used for years. No more infections
How do you use colloidal silver?
Same question 😊

@@jacknziggyjess3254 thank you for responding! Do you put the drops down into the “bottom” of the ear? I have a Belgian shepherd and her ears are big and wide open lol

Yes, cats ears too?
My question too...mites in dogs seems rare...
Common to cats
Thank you for the valuable info. You have saved us out here a lot of money. Your videos are very helpful.
How about using colloidal silver water? I've heard this is good for cats and dogs.
❤thank you. We have three dogs on and off they have what you explained. Years vet money spent but no help.
Appreciate your honesty kindness
Your dog is well behaved I have a pit bull who hates to have his ears touched. He jumps like a wild horse when I try to even clean his ears. Any recommendations please.
I just rescued a dog who you couldn't touch his paws or his ears and what I would do is constantly be petting him and then go all the way down to his feet and started to nose and go to the ears and now he will let me touch his feet and his ears and it's only been 2 months
@@Takpay I did that but as soon as I touch him he fights it and he’s too strong I usually have my husband to hold him otherwise is imposible.
Thanks Doc, my baby has been treated and treated for this and i am going to try the supplements definitely.
Will this work for cats too? Thanks for always helping us out :)
Yes, it will work for cats too. But for ear mites, this video might help: ruclips.net/video/_wGM3qQaBO0/видео.html.
Love this channel so much! Have you ever thought of a hardcover edition of your free ebook? I would totally buy it.

This definitely helped my dog. It takes 3-4 days and I'm glad that I didn't give up as it's hard to see the dog suffering. Thank you so much Dr. Jones.

Wish I had known this many years ago. I had a large Terrier / Poodle mix named Falkor. And yes, he looked just like him! He got ear infections several times, and it cost us a fortune at the vet. Thank you so much for everything that you do for our fur babies. 😊
Thank you so much for helping us to take good care of our dogs 🙏 I really appreciate 🫶

Pls , can you do a video on
cat hyperthyroid? And about that medicine that seems like rolling the dice.
P. S. Thank you for everything ❤️
When I went to the store there were about 5 different monostats w different ingredients 🤷♀️🤷♀️I don’t think any had micanazole. I found a very small generic 😀
It served to help but then I had to go away for the weekend.
Maybe...
@@alysgrant6732 You apparently used full strength peroxide... I don't! And, the combination works together in a way that peroxide alone doesn't.
Google ear wash for dogs , someone said on here you shouldn't use anything in there ears. . .
Thank you Doctor! ❤
And about cats? I have one that have that brown stuff and always scratching
Yes I have a cat with same.thought it was mites.
I wish he would mention cats as well. I am cleaning with colloidal silver, and coconut oil but it's not working that well. The cat in question has things like mites on her lower spine. I'm UK
Thank you so much!❤
My dog will shake out anything we put inside his ear! Going to give this a try
Thank you trying it now
How good is this!!! BTW you're still brilliant!!!!
Thank u
Thank you! I thought my dog had ear mites so I got ear mite drops and they've done absolutely nothing. Her ears are red like that so im going to try this. I had also ordered a natural ear wash just drops you put in. They don't seem to do much either. Hopefully this helps.
Are we suppose to put the drops down in the canal?
Thank you!! Great step by step instructions.
How about Monistat 7 and cortisone mix?
Where can we buy your supplements ?
I’ve check Amazon but didn’t find it

Thank you, doctor!
Thank you so much, doc.
Are you recommending this now in place of the green tea/apple cider vinegar cleaning?
Hi, I'm not a vet but I think apple cider vinegar is too harsh on sores or infections
Good for cleaning a healthy ear etc.
I used his previous recommendation for colloidal silver. My dog had black gunky ear and used this 3 times a day and it was gone after 2 days and has never returned. She had the same on her lady bits and I applied a solution of Apple cider vinegar and distilled water dabbed on with cotton wool and it was gone the very next day!
Thanks going to try, will let you know how well it worked 🙂
Thank you!
Thank you this help a lot 😊
Thank you for the information you give, it's a great help. What's best for ear mites. 🙏🏻💚🇮🇪
Definitely going to try this !my 17 year old kitty is diabetic and suffers from chronic ear infections. Nothing the vet FHAs prescribed has helped :( it always comes back .
