The $100 billion dollar choir. There'll never be a collection of voices and talent like this again. Not just the group as a whole and individuals, the vocal combinations were unique and beyond inspired. Whoever or however they decided to include Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and Ray Charles, thank you! Great reaction!
👍☺️✌️
Steve Perry gives me chills EVERY time!! Bruce and Stevie bodied this, and James Ingram did too 💖💖💖
James is one of the ones people sleep on a lot
The little Cyndi yelp gets me the most 😍
I was crying like a baby 😭 Hurts to see how things are so messed up and we don't have most of the greats in this video to gives us hope today ...miss each of the ones that aren't with us anymore 😭
@Paul Steinwall EXACTLY! That's why I stopped watching the news
@Paul Steinwall & @Kelli Anderson it's attitudes like you two and others here that will make a difference going forward. Keep it up and NEVER give up! Light is only extinguished in darkness when people won't labor to keep it lit!
We starts one person at a time, and we can make a difference, even today!
Shar the Hell out of this video. Show today's youth that people really do care no matter what the damn media tells them!! I was blessed to live back when people cared about others no matter what race you were.I pray for this again for my grandkids 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Stevie and Cyndi my 2 favorite solos on here. Get chills on Cyndi's part Every. Single. Time
THIS IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SONGS! I love all of these artists especially Michael i know all of his songs!!!😁
#Dawww 👍☺️✌️
#Thanks4TheShare
⭐⭐🌟⭐⭐
i remember this. It was a big deal when they all came together for this. Several of the artists in this are gone now. But it was as amazing then as it is now..
Bruce Springsteen killed it for me. When he came in with Stevie Wonder. They all killed it, but Bruce sung like he was in pain, like he was about to give birth to something!! Bruce Springsteen killed it, woke it back up and then killed it again!! Especially when he belted out "We are the world!!! We are the children!!! And the part, "There's a choice we're making and we're saving our own lives.!! Gave me chills!!!
I love that he was so amused that he didnt even stopped once to comment on the song. It just wanted to listen to it to the end and not miss anything. He was probably barely breathing like me
This is like an all star game. Sadly there arent artists to day that could pull this off. Soo much talent in that room
Yes all you young people…. That’s what greatness sounds like. Astonishing isn’t it ! No auto tuners available and none needed.
One World...One Family!!
Pray that MORE people hear this Message....
Blessings from TEXAS mate!!
✌❤😎🙏🌍💯👍👍
RIP Michael Jackson. The greatest humanitarian and artist of all time
♡
You're totally diluded. "😂"
@@travisgrant5608 how? MJ is literally in the Guinness book of world record as the most charitable and successful star ever. So try again..
Adrian S. Lorio you are officially the most diluded if you don’t agree
@@Thatculturedguy Actually, YOU are officially the most diluded. Michael Jackson was the only singer who carried on fighting for rights and raising money for charity. The your he was preparing for was to raise money for a children's hospital. And he was FIFTY. Let's see what singers nowadays do d that age
I'm proud to say I was alive when this aired and we 80's kids were just as awestruck.
I was an 11 year old kid when this came out. I was so moved by it back then! Glad I could experience this music in real time!
Bruce killed it! His tortured voice was the most amazing part
Steve Perry did a great job. One of the best vocalists there.
@Denise Eugene Cyndi Lauper sings like she just ate a bunch of hot peppers--- aye, yi, yi, yi yi!!!!!
Yes Steve Perry the best
@Denise Eugene Cindy and Stevie killed it too
Steve Perry was The best vocalist on there. He should have had a bigger part! 🎼🎤❤️
Listen to behind the scenes. Perry uses quite a bit of auto tune
In order:
Lionel Richie
Stevie Wonder
Paul Simon
Kenny Rogers
James Ingram
Tina Turner
Billy Joel
Michael of course
Diana Ross
Dionne Warwick (Whitney Houston's first cousin)
Willie Nelson
Al Jarreau
Bruce Springsteen
Kenny Loggins
Steve Perry
Daryl Hall (from Hall & Oates)
Michael again
Huey Lewis
Cyndi Lauper
Kim Carnes
Bob Dylan
Ray Charles
Bruce and Stevie again
James Ingram again
Mr. Ray Charles again
Dan Akroyd was in the back, did not have a solo, but he was there. John Oats was there as well.
@@RLKmedic0315 Yeah, that list was just the performers who were showcased for folk who may not know some of them. There were some folk there who weren't highlighted in the video but were in the chorus (Lindsey Buckingham was one as well).
So was Bette midler
A lot of people were in the background: Harry Belafonte, Pointer Sisters, Lindsey Buckingham, 2 or 3 Other Jacksons...so many people!
It seems like a lot of people are unfamiliar with him, but it was also James Ingram who did that falsetto howl ad lib towards the end.
Michael of course hahaa love it!
Ray Charles, Stevie wonder , James Ingram KILLED IT. I also really liked Diana and Michael. Michael kills it so effortlessly. Effortlessly! And yes, it goes without saying that Cyndi was awesome.
Cyndi threw down
She sounded like a pig being butchered. I don't see what's awesome about her part. Let's be honest.
Michael will always remain a legend and so will the rest of these amazing talents ❤️❤️
Dionne Warwicks part hit me
Yes! And Cindi
The man standing by Harry Belafonte is comic actor Dan Ackroyd. Dan was one of the early SNL cast members. And an awesome musician as well. He was half of SNL music/comedy duo the Blues Brothers with John Belushi. And in the middle of it all is 60's voice of his generation and counter-culture icon, Bob Dylan. FYI - his son Jakob Dylan fronted 90's singing sensation group The Wallflowers. Michael Jackson wrote this song and it was produced by Quincy Jones. Like others in the day, I counted down the days to watch it's debut on MTV or VH1. I don't remember which one. The pairing of Stevie Wonder & Bruce Springsteen was genius. Their voices contrasted beautifully.
Remember when America used to inspire the world in a positive way?!
@@CelineOracle That and America stopped trying. Everything has gone downhill as the 2nd world war generation has been dying out.
When was America Great? The 80s! Trump is bringing us back!
@@brockbaby No thanks. I want off that ride. In the 80s the president was far more respectful, and much nicer.
@@brockbaby as a non American...if you think Trump is doing anything but completely destroying the US then we are all doomed. What a disgrace that guy is.
@@znk0r If you don't understand what it is he's pushing back against, then perhaps it is you who doesn't understand what is at stake if the opposition takes power!
It's so fun to hear each artist's style come through. Lots of talent there, and still very relevant. Thx!
👍☺️✌️
An iconic song with a humanitarian message from an iconic time
1:51 His face when he realized it's Michael 😂
😂😂
He knew from his socks!! That’s famous. 😂
2:46 His face when Bruce started to sing! And he went from stunned listening to having a smile come to his lips when Steve Perry leaned in at 3:00 with that heavenly voice! You could see his reaction to Ray Charles, and how moved he was at Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen singing together, and just overwhelmed at the total group, chorus and soloists together. I was transfixed, watching Kassi so intent. Great reaction!
Absolutely EVERY SINGLE artist on this video was a true music legend when this was released in 1985
When stars are willling to do backup, you know it's gotta be good.
Pedazo canción...gracias x siempre a michael❤ x mi...Bruce y Cindy👏 alegria

There were other greats also in this video such as DAN AKAROYD John Oats THE JACKSON FIVE including Latoya Jackson, Smokey Robinson, Pointer Sisters, Jeff Osborn, Bet Mitler, Harry Belafonte and a few others.
I wonder how many of those artists you know on top of those you mentioned. Kenny Rogers (rip just recently), Kenny Loggins, Steve Perry from Journey, Diana Ross, Bruce Springsteen (the boss), Bob Dylan (already mentioned by one commenter), and so many others. When this came out there was also a 1-hour "the making of" video and it was fun watching these talents having a great time. It was recorded overnight and was directed by the great Quincy Jones who, after watching the initial recording, decided to add the solos of MJ, Bruce, Stevie and Ray Charles at the end. Yes they were inserted at post-op.
Btw, did you know that Band Aid's "Do they know it's Christmas" was the first collaborative effort of British artists to raise funds for the famine that was going in Africa at that time? The American artists, collectively called USA for Africa followed up with this. And yes there was a remake of this for the Haiti earthquake which coincided with the original's 25th anniversary
(Sorry for the long post)
my heart starts beating so fast when they show MJ. such an icon💧✨

This was a favorite of mine when it came out, and it's STILL a favorite today. It's a really powerful song, even though the lyrics are so simple. There's power and strength in love. Too bad the world can't remember that right now. Thanks for the reaction.
This is The Best reaction of this song...❤️
So much slayage. Cyndi Lauper really served up a great climax. Her version of Etta James's At Last is something I think you'd enjoy 😃
She sounded like a pig being butchered.
@@jepacido5118 I don't know pigs with a soprano voice that can project a well supported, mixed voice note. If you know a pig like that, maybe contact your local newstaion, you might have a great story on your hands 😏
In this video has soo much legend together
Also i live on 80's, 70's, 90's, and 2000's music...even though im 12 years old 😁
Old souls are the best👏🏾💯
Geeky Ar thanks!!!😅❤️
“I’m only 12 and I was born in the wrong generation” lol.
yeeyee Peguinz haha same!😂
You're 12 years old and more cultured than my 18 yr old friends. I'm so proud😢
Alright, let's just say that you were at a loss for words. You were deeply moved, utter respect!
Never to be forgotten. Such a beautiful song especially written from the Americans to Africa. Very heartwarming.
Memories of the winter of 1985. I watched this video on MTV and VH-1 several times back then. Good memories
Brings tears to my eyes even after all these years 😣
I'm so old I remember seeing this live. Never again will we see so much talent together, just wonderful, Also they were very successful and raised a lot of money.
The way they got so many SUPERSTARS each with justified superegos together like this in one room at the same time is phenomenal, although to be fair it comes on the heels of BandAid's "Do They Know It's Christmas" a few months earlier.
There’s also an amazing 2010, 25th anniversary remake which supported Haiti and the earthquake victims in 2010
Nice choice. I was 8 when this came out, and it blew me away. It still gives me feels. Later, when I grew up and got more musical knowledge, I started noticing more and more awesome folks involved (not just Michael Jackson, who was my fave as a kid), and it really is an amazing group to come together.
Same here
I was 4, i heard the song couple off later, still under 10 and I was so happy they did it for Haiti
Beautiful reaction! WE ARE THE WORLD! We are the children!
I quite enjoyed your expressions as you watched this. It's nice you know some of the musicians, young as you are! This was my era.
James Ingram does a phenomenal job all throughout this song and does t get enough credit for the pipes he has. That being said Steve Perry has the absolute best vocals on this song. He wasn’t dubbed “the voice” for nothing
On this song at least, it depended on what part he was given to sing and where his part was during the song.
If for example he has Billy Joel's part, that line was early on and so quite understated.
Did you know that Michael Jackson was singing in another recording studio and that his singing part was just inserted in the video? I was in fourth grade back then
You're right!!
Not true. He was in the same room/studio as everyone else. You can clearly see him....lol. There is a behind the scenes you can watch.
When they all showed up to sing, There wS a sign on the door -- Leave Your Egos at the Door ❤
I was 29 when this was released. I still tear up when I hear it.
If you liked this one, I'm sure you'll like Heal the world, Earth song, Cry by Michael Jackson too. Lots of love 🌸
I haven't watched this, or even heard it in many, many years. I forgot just how many people were involved.
Thank you for the reaction and reminding everyone of the message!
This is still such a remarkable collaboration. I would recommend anyone to listen to at least one of the greatest hits of each of the performers who participated in this song, because they were each so uniquely talented. Also, if you’ve never seen it, please react to The Jackson Five performing a medley on The Ed Sullivan Show from Dec. 14, 1969. It is still one of my favorite performances by Michael, and a look into how amazing they were as children. And I absolutely love your reactions... thank you for sharing them with us!💗
I used to have this on 45 lol. I'm obsessed with every solo in this song.
The whole Band Aid Project was breathtaking. No egos, just the course. Harry Belafonte way in the back. Paul Simon stood next to Kenny Roger's. Same at the concert. It was a special time.
I can't believe how well this one actually aged. I remember it from when it was new and it still packs a punch!
Greatest collaboration of all time with the greatest performers of all time. Thank you.
Phenomenal song. I love how you didn't interrupt the video with a comment. Thank you for that. Love your reactions. Keep it up.
I used to work security for Lionel Richie in Las Vegas. It was amazing to hear him sing that song 3 times a week for a few years.
Another song done for African relief at the same time by Canadian performers is called Tears are Not Enough, by Northern Lights. You may want to check that one out too.
Greatest collection of talent ever, no doubt.
This song is to dated but somehow so timeless. And I really needed this today. Thank you!
Wow you watched it through with the occasional grunt to show your emotions. You are truly disciplined and it was a pleasure to watch this with you.
So many talented people!
One world, one life, treat it with affection and right now a virtual hug...that's what people are missing, human contact...i know i could use a REAL HUG....stay safe everyone..WE ARE THE WORLD...🌏🌏❤❤ i love watching you please keep it up, please play where is the love it fits in these times

I remember when this came out. It will always be one of my favorites
If you love this song, you really should listen to and react to "That's What Friends are For". It has Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Gladys Knight. It's absolutely terrific with 4 great legends.
great upload! hadn't seen it in years either
home you are well.
I love your reaction it's all the legends in one room, just beautiful it just touches my heart..have you seen the newer version for Haiti, I subscribed to your channel, thanks again 🙏
James Ingram was class act on this.
Those are the masters of the best of the very best!!!
You gotta react to Journey with Steve Perry, not with any of his so called replacements. The live concert in Houston 1981 is absolutely phenomenal. Steve is the best rock vocalist ever. 🎤🎼
Live Aide and Band-Aide were for the same cause and done before USA For Africa. In my opinion Princess Diana started by visiting Africa to bring awareness to the famine. Bless her heart.💖💖💖
I love your reactions and comments ❤❤
They obviously showcased the geniuses ....Stevie, MJ, Ray....among others. So much soul.
wow!! a great reaction for a great song!! It's beautiful when talents come together to reach out to people who really need help. Blessings.
Goosebumps on Bruce Springsteen voice and so him with Stevie Wonder duo
I hope you're okay!! You're not uploading very often anymore. Missing your videos
I agree! We need his kind of joy during lockdown
Greatest choir of my childhood...and live aid ....bless 🙏🇨🇦🌬♾🎸🎵u made my day.
Was in high school when this song came out. It pains me to see some of the artists who are no longer with us -- MJ, Kenny Rogers, Ray Charles, and a few others. Great reaction, Kasian. Stay well.
great general action. Love your channel and upload sire.
Thanks so much for this Kassi - especially in these strange times. Just a note on Stevie Wonder, I heard him sing recently on a show and he actually still sings in the same key ! Outstanding really. Lots of faces no longer with us in this video which brings things even more into perspective.
Aww. This is really moving. 😢
Sending my virtual hugs to everyone! We'll get through this! 🤗🤗
I'm speeches, emotional and I sang this in 6th grade! Had no clue what was going on in the mid 90s, beautiful diverse group and society needs this.
Esa canción es un himno🙏🏽
hello to know that you look very much like the great actor silvester stallone when he was young in the role was called rambo
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
Kenny Loggins & Huey Lewis always get me!!! 🥰👏🏽
Michael absolutely killed the performance WOW!
I'm very surprised Donny Osmond wasn't there since he was really good friends with MJ
Beat make Stevie Best Female Cyndi most underutilized Steve Perry and Dionne
Kenny loggins michael and diana and tina turner were my favourites in this video
Still incredibly relevant. Master artists, Master of Production...beautiful. Thanking Kirk for this timely reminder, and to you Kassian for another great reaction video. Imagine a world like this...I do, and I work towards it every day. Love each other people, or at the very least - try not to judge...Blessings everyone
Great reaction amazing how many artists you know
LOVE!!
I will freely admit that I came to your channel for Pentatonix but I have stayed because you are so much fun to watch... one of my faves so far
Rest in Peace Michael Jackson
Rest in Peace Al Jarreau
Rest in Peace James Ingram
Rest in Peace Ray Charles
Rest in Peace Kenny Rogers
I think Kim Carnes passed too.
IT would be very difficult to gather up the so-called "singers " of today and persuade them to do a production such as THIS ONE! THE talent level alone ,no longer EXISTS! THIS is musical ICON HISTORY!! ENJOYED IT so MUCH! WILL NEVER HAPPEN again!
You would be surprised how many people miss the fact there was an actor,NOT A SINGER in the group.Dan Aykroyd, the actor from Ghostbusters and Blues Brothers was in the back row, wearing a green Jacket, tie and glasses.
